Sheogorath is in skyrim though. He's not as entertaining (no raining dogs), but the wabbajack is better than ever.

First time i tried it out i shot a wolf and it exploded. The second time i shot another wolf and it froze. I though "hmm this thing either freezes or explodes my enemy. awesome".

Then i shot a bear and it turned into a sweet roll.

At this point i was shooting everything i saw and laughing, but i got to a tough bandit chief. I shot him and.. he turned invisible.

At that point i put it away.
Wabbajack is silly good fun, poking an Elder Dragon with it and watching all the spiffy effects. Then again, said dragon did try and gank a Stormcloak camp and got set upon by 4 Stormcloaks and 2 Horses, but the Wabbajack did most of the work!

Tis also great for powerlevelling Enchanting since you have to recharge the damn thing so much.

I don't care and I have never cared about the inclusion of dragons. They're pretty weak anyway but let's be clear that dragons could be replaced with any other creature not present in previous TES games and I would have cared the same, none. To be even clearer, a rat is a wolf is a lion to me and a dragon is a giant is a mammoth to me. High level enemies and low level enemies are the only two types I see.

That everyone was so hyped that there were dragons in this game, I just never understood.
Seriously, unless I can ride said dragon, I don't care that it even exists. Love Skyrim, but disappointed in UI. Also, very irritated about lack of athletics and acrobatics. Very irritated.

I am glad you enjoy fighting the dragons in this game. I enjoy it too, just as much as I enjoy slashing a wolf and it flies a few feet. Nothing special about that dragon avatar.
Kinda like how fighting Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus and destroying Borgia Towers in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is exactly the same thing, right? It's all just climbing and pressing a button to win, who cares about in game context. In fact, as long as I think vaguely enough, everything is one big gray line of sameness!

I like oblivion better cause they had more spells, and it didnt take 3 seconds to pull your weapons out. Also the talking seemed more real. (this one just seems....hollow.)

Also who cares about dragons, Yay another badguy to kill in 2 shots :p

(lighting also sucks in skyrim its way to dark, thank gods for Cat night vision or the game would be unplayable.

Breaking them down into their parts:

Overworld = SKyrim is better, much more variety than greenhills and trees.
Dungeons = Skyrim is clearly better, all dungeons are hand crafted and not procedural cookie cutter designs

Menu = Apparently Oblivion is better but I think with the inclusion of some way to filter SKyrim works much better than Oblivion and Fallout

Conversation = Skyrim is better, not locked in - less vacant face to face chats

Combat = Dual Wielding, Dual Magic, I mean how can you compare? Skyrim

Storyline = Too subjective to definitively say.

Graphics = Skyrim

Nostalgia = Oblivion is old, you were younger then and more wide eyed and hopeful; now your jaded pining for a time that never actually existed that you glean through rose colored glasses.

Personally, I enjoy both. I'm having just as much fun with Skyrim now as I did with Oblivion when I first played it. I don't see why anybody would ***** about one being better than the other. If you like Oblivion better, STFU and go play Oblivion. Hell, I put more hours into Morrowind than Oblivion and Skyrim combined, but I'm not going to ***** about Morrowind being better. If I did I'd STFU and go play Morrowind instead.

Yeah, discussions on a discussion board, what's the world coming to? People should just STFU and not discuss things on discussion boards. You know, if discussions bother you, why are you not playing something instead of reading a discussion and then participating in said discussion? Genuine question.

Skyrim hasn't really been out long enough for anyone to judge if it's as good as Oblivion or not. Let us not forget about the content that could be downloaded for Oblivion, this is one thing that helped make Oblivion great (well, greater than it already was). Personally, in the first week I've had it I've went around enough and completed enough quests to say it at least has the same amount of depth as Oblivion did and the same amount of epic rewards for quests.

I liked the majority of the game. The character customization isn't extremely complex, the UI is pretty good with it's easily navigated menus. The combat seems to flow a little bit better, it isn't as clunky as it was in Oblivion. The one complaint I do have is about the infinite amount of dragons wandering Skyrim that attack at random times. This complaint might not be as bad for others, but for me the dragon attacks seem to be when I have very little health or I am just about to complete a quest. Nothing quite pisses me off like having to go back to my last save because some punk ass, fire breathing salamander decided I looked delicious.

For me, its the fact that I enjoyed Oblivion wholeheartedly.
Skyrim......I did not.

Thats my argument over with I guess, just need to sit back now and wait for the "your gay" responses to come flying at me again.
True that, I quit Skyrim to wait for a patch because of the performance on the PS3. The sad thing is that I went straight back to Oblivion and am enjoying it more.
The performance issues on PS3 smooth out after the first hours, frame rate picks up for... God knows why. If that doesn't work, free up some space and start throwing spells to get it in swing.

Also, not giving me good signs of how long you played.

Let's see, Skyrim is great game, Oblivion is not.

-No more skill picking at the start before you know what are useful for you playstyle.

-No more monsters leveling with you.

-Better, tho more crude looking, UI.

-No pointless skills like athletics or acrobatics.

-No more boring green forest all over the map.

-Actually more interesting main story line.

-Dragons!

....So wait, there arent any ways that Oblivion is superior. Oh well.
As long as I get to spend time with Sheogorath in Skyrim, I'm inclined to agree. That's the only thing about Oblivion that I can think of that stands out anymore.

10-12 hours before it got too choppy. I turned it off and decided to wait for the patch that Bethesda says has been submitted. No idea what the patch does, it's some big secret for now but hopefully it fixes the lag. I have 249 GB of free space so I don't think that's the issue.

Granted, it's pretty stupid for me to be surprised people are discussing things on a discussion board. However, I'm not against discussing things. I'm against complaining about every little nit-picky detail about a game compared to it's predecessor. If the development team chose to change something about a game then they probably felt it was for the better. If people have a problem with those decisions they should fucking deal with it. If you feel that your point is so important then send it to the designers so they can use the feedback in a positive manner and make their next game to reflect upon the complaints of their audience. I'm not saying this strictly about TES either, it qualifies for every game.

The UI is slightly better in Oblivion, you can actually sort through items without it getting irritating, which is more than I could say for the PC UI of Skyrim. Aside from that, I can't really think of anything I liked better in Oblivion.

Seriously, I really, really disliked Oblivion and while Skyrim is far from perfect, I actually enjoy playing it.
Agreed. The weapon switching is a little more fluid in Oblivion (PS3 version at least, I would hope they kept hotkeys for the PC), but there's nothing else.

The main problems I have in Skyrim are ones that have carried over from Oblivion (repeated dialogue from the voice acting, etc.). Oblivion bored me to tears (slow leveling with no tangible benefits. Oh, goody... every 25 skill levels I get something useful), while Skyrim has kept my attention for longer. That's a credit to this game to demand my attention amongst the great release schedule that's been occurring.

As stated above, Skyrim isn't perfect, but it's far superior than Oblivion.

I'm sorry, but 40% of your complaints stem from "I don't like the UI"

that's the best you got?
When the UI (the thing you have to use constantly) sucks there is a major problem with the game. I feel as a PC gamer the real slap in the face over the UI is that its the console UI, which was designed the way it was to work for people who can't use a mouse and keyboard to play. When you have those two things the way it is set up is so ass backwards its made me stop playing until a mod to fix it comes out.
I've played skyrim on the PC unmoded, and I had no problems with it, it took me all of 10 minutes to familiarize myself with the new layout, and that was it. I can't believe you were so bothered by it that you stopped playing the game.

I see, so the options are:

- fucking deal with the changes you don't like
- send my complaints directly to the designers ONLY and discuss it nowhere else

I have an idea, how about if we discuss it on a gaming forum like this one? That ok with you? I promise, YOU don't have to participate.

I can't believe that you can't believe that others have a different experience than you on a different platform. The PS3 version has issues, educate yourself before you tell me "I had no issues on PC so you shouldn't have any on PS3". Ok?
