<color=purple>"Well, only one of my three sisters has glasses. And those are color-corrective lenses for when she gets colorblind. You must come from a very archaic time if that's your stereotype of nerds."

 

[Demonjazz]

"That's a rather offensive thing to say. Damn future people and they're judging my culture!" He said looking rather annoyed.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen shrugged.
<color=purple>"Oh I didn't mean anything offensive, so I apologize. I'm only saying that the stereotype of 'nerd' that you talk about is old fashioned, in my time, by a huge degree."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Yeah that's what all the future people will say. We're so much better than you because we eliminated sexism,racism, and world hunger. What if I liked the amount of sexism in my life where it was! Just enough to make jokes about it! You're just like those goddamn aliens that have been helping our technology become more advanced, they're a bunch of pansies that won't show their face!"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>I don't know who's temperament is worse, this guy's or Vicky's.
"Say what you will, I'm not holding any prejudices here. And our society has hardly met any extraterrestrials. So we won't be seeing any donated technology anytime soon. And it takes a long-ass time to even translate our language into whatever they speak. But tell me, what did you do before shooting up 'hell beasts'?"

 

[Demonjazz]

"Shooting the people that were the enemy! Also don't you know those advanced pricks are helping us from the side lines! That's what made the pyramids you know! They beamed the schematics into people's brains!"

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"No. It's because humans are imaginative creatures. Just because they didn't have the technology of today, doesn't mean that they couldn't figure out the stars in the night sky or figure out basic geometry. Seriously, a pyramid is not that hard to figure out or imagine. All they had in those days were slaves, pharaohs, diplomats, astronomers, farmers and mathematicians. They had little to no light pollution to observe the sky so that's what nearly everyone did for days on end. And then they realized a pattern was set in place in nature, and they learned the seasons as well as geometry from watching the stars and figuring out a math system."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Who would be stupid enough to put all that effort into making a giant tomb! Obviously they were under threat of alien invasion."

Emily would pick up a radio signal from what was left of World Marshall HQ, much better encrypted than the others.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"They probably weren't stupid but just could have been religious fanatics. Which, considering the time period they were, is probably several billion times more likely than alien invasion."

Just then.... EMily felt something coming in on radio.
"Hold on Seras. I'm picking up something. I'm going to have Photon take a whack at it." She materialized Photon, and it started recording the radio transmission.

"You don't have enough faith in humanity. Obviously religion was also created by aliens to make the humans do their bidding easier."

Since Sophia being around while Seras talked about her like she wasn't in the room would be super awkward, after seeing that Roland was alright she retreated back to where she'd been before Seras had gotten her.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>"That's the complete opposite of what I was implying. Humans are more imaginative, cunning, and witty than you give them credit for. And don't you think humans could have been imaginative enough to come up with their own religion? We don't need aliens to come up with ideas. We got our ideas from looking at the stars. They saw how the sun rose and set every day, and came up with the idea of immortality from that."

 

[Demonjazz]

"Now who would be stupid enough to follow a religion they made up? That would just be silly."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Emily would find a short looped message.

"Operation Tecumseh Initiated. Begin attack."

The message intoned, repeated in robotic monotone.

<color=purple>"Better question: Why would they follow a religion developed by the aliens blindly? What makes it any different than one that we've made up ourselves? And don't say 'It's for the purposes of the aliens.'"

For some reason Seras didn't really appreciate EMily suggesting she grow mentally, but she tried not to show this displeasure. "Emily, you might not know much about vampires, and I might only know a little more than you but...based on what I know, I'm not taking the easy way, I'm taking the only way. Because I only have two options, the way I can see. I can stay the way I am and keep struggling to survive, or I can try something that will, hopefully, increase my chances of surviving." she said. Then she walked away a bit and looked off into the distance. "I...I don't think I'll change as a person...I'll still be me, Emily. And...I'm not really human anymore anyway. I am a vampire. There's no point in pretending otherwise anymore. And besides..." she stops and turns back to EMily. "It's not really about what you are, it's how you act, right?" she asked with a small smile, hoping to lighten the conversation slightly while also furthering her own point.

 

[Slenn]

"Think about it this way: whenever I had a huge struggle I had to overcome, at the end of the day I asked myself 'what did I struggle with?', 'what did I learn from that struggle?', and ultimately 'what can I do to make myself better?'. That's what I mean by mentally working yourself out. The better your mind is, the more likely you'll be able to survive and overcome the greatest of obstacles."

"But I'm not understanding what you're implying, Seras. How will you not change as a person if you lose your humanity? Won't that also determine how you act as well?"

"One has super advanced space people that fly around proving that gods can exist."
