"His profession is traitor and lie-smith." Hans yelled, walking towards the Apostle and Gwen. "Step away Gwen. I do not wish to burn you."

The weapon in Hans' hand would be recognizable as a flame thrower. It had a tank plugged in, and its lead was lit.

OOC: @Slenn: Ah, fair enough. I suppose it's close enough, and yeah, he does look distinctly Chaos-y, with the skulls, spikes and skin tapestry on his pauldron. Although his face is more angelic than that of most Space Marines, despite the fact that that's exactly what Space Marines are in 40K lore. The Emperor's 'angels of death'.

A pleasure, Madame Mason. As I say, I am an Apostle of the Word Bearers legion. A sort of warrior priest if you like. With my brothers, I wage war in the name of the Gods, either among warriors of my own ilk, or as a guiding hand to help the oppressed throw off their bonds and rebel." His smile went slack on hearing Hans's warning before being replaced by a hard grimace.

"I almost thought that you would have the sense to leave well enough alone." He sighed in a flat, dead voice, and raised his gauntlet to give Hans an unrivalled view down the cavernous double barrels of his forearm mounted combi-bolter. "Puppet of the false Emperor.".

Sophia considered reaching out her hand, still having it around her. She removed the hand that she was biting her nail with, reaching to take Samus' hand when she saw Hans with the flame thrower. Sophia's immediate reaction upon seeing this new weapon was to not be anywhere near it, taking quite a few steps away from Hans and the Space Marine.

"Oh god no..." She whimpered.

(Also forgot to mention that Samus should already know about how flammable Sophia's mana is, given she was burned by it prior)

Gwen stepped back a little in surprise of Hans' gestures with the flamethrower. Her voice became a little more commanding in volume.
<color=purple>"Woah, woah, woah there! Take it easy you guys! I know you guys must have some deep grudge against each other. But right now we have a person nearby who's trying to recover from a panic attack. The last thing we need is a fight right now! Take it elsewhere or stay away from each other."

With that, the noise was enough to call out EMily and Winona, who were now fully dressed and a tad irritated, which showed in their voice.
"Okay, what is going on here?" And EMily's eyes widened. What that heck? Is that a Chaos Marine from long ago? "Gwen, get back. Now." EMily ordered. And Gwen stood back even further.

At Gwen's alarmed shout, Proditus's gaze fell on her from the corner of his eye. He turned his attention to Hans again, still as a massive ceramite statue... then, with a wry smile, he straightened up and cocked his lightning-clawed fist, taking the barrels of the combi-bolter away from Han's face so that it angled harmlessly towards the sky.

"Wise words, Madame Mason. I do not wish to frighten your little comrade any further. As little as I can extend the sentiment to this cur."

"Oh come on guys. Nobody but those silly guys dressed up in armour are going to go after her! Who's going to believe people that don't even know what a TV is?" He said without a single hint of sarcasm.

"This monster in man's clothing is a mass murderer. He and his kind have done their level best to murder the Imperium. His people incite riots, rebellions, and chaos through entire planets, knowing all they do is bleed humanity. He wears the skin of man on his armor as a trophy and his kind are the reason Krieg owes a debt we can not repay."
Hans head cocked slightly, considering. "I would rather die then let him near this group and allow you to be corrupted. You leave, or we fight."

Samus watched the confrontation, hoping it wouldn't turn violent. "You are the one antagonising him." She said to Hans.

This is a precarious situation to say the least. If I wasn't incorporeal, I'd be very upset at that soldier for bringing out that bloody weapon. Not sure what he's planning to do with it either, the Chaos bugger certainly doesn't seem flammable! Shame I'm dead, some popcorn would have sat right for this.
The dead, though talkative, observer of the scene sat back in a figurative armchair and watched.

EMily's face turned to a scowl, as she could easily see through this powerful man's attempts at non-violence. Gwen moved to where EMily is.
"Then if I'm not mistaken. He is a Chaos Marine. But his armor looks a bit different than the ones I've seen years ago."
<color=purple>"This guy's mass is huge. Several times larger than an average human's."

Proditus's smile could have frozen magma.
"You serve a regime that holds millions of worlds and uncountable trillions of humans under its yoke. Your masters burn entire worlds for no other purpose than to stop our message of defiance against that regime. The man whose skin I bear gave the order to commit Exterminatus on at least one occasion." He growled, eyes fixed on the Imperial Guardsman. "And what, pray tell, do you truly know of your Imperium, slave? You have lived a paltry few years, grown obedient and narrow-minded on whatever watered down dogma they feed you. You know nothing of the great powers. You know nothing of the Imperium. I am a veteran of the Long War, son of Krieg. I was there at its birth." He chuckled, a deep, almost humorous utterance. "Do you think we forced Krieg into rebellion against their overlords? Of course not. If that were our goal we had more than enough power to slaughter them ourselves, as I have the power to slaughter you. All we did was... tell them the truth. The truth that you have been starved of all your life. When they heard it... they did the right thing."

OOC: Aha! I've found a face to put inside the armour! :D

Hans' voice dropped back to its neutral tone. "You created the debt. You. And your kind?"

Those standing in the vicinity might see a shimmer on the roofs.

Sophia continued to slowly back away from the two, not moving her eyes away from the flame thrower. She'd gotten a short distance away before she stopped, her face looking a little pale. Slowly bringing a hand to her face, she wobbled slightly before falling to a squat, and then falling to one side, sprawled ground with a quiet grunt. She was still breathing, and her heart was still beating so there wasn't alarm for her life. She was still producing the chocolate smell however, albeit slowly petering out.

Proditus shook his head slowly, a rueful smile creeping across his face.
"It was not the men who heeded our word who burned your planet with a nuclear holocaust, human. That honour belongs to your own ancestors. Such is the righteousness and mercy of the Imperium." His gaze flickered upwards towards the rooftops, his preternaturally keen senses picking out the aberration in the air. Tutting, he removed his massive tusked helmet from its clamp at his waist and locked it into place in his gorget, replacing his own flawless features with the bestial mask. The eyes glowed a dull red.
"Are you going to display the treachery of which they are capable here as well?" He asked.

Hans looked to Samus, and he shook his head. His head turned to face Proditus. "You inflicted the debt. We cleansed ourselves to remove the traitors and return to the Emperor's side. What we did was begin to pay our debt to the holy Empire, what you did was inflict the debt. You will pay, and your blood will be added to the debt."

Hans raised his Flamer again, only to be knocked off his feet as the shimmer that had been on the roof jumped on him. He attempted to fight back, only for the predator Henry to pin him. Henry's cloak fell away, and his numerous arm bands dragged across Hans' chest as he headlocked Hans. He growled as he pinned Hans, a truly alien noise. With little effort, he had Hans pinned, even as Hans fought against the headlock with all his might.

Proditus snorted derisively at Hans's response and began a damning retort, his combi-bolter beginning to come down in an arc that would rend Hans asunder. He stopped in mid-motion and his words died on his lips however, when what he had assumed to be a Krieg sniper threw itself at Hans, it's cloak dissipating to reveal a grotesque xeno.

"Ignorant fool. You deny your own ancient history even when it is spoken by one who witnessed it firsthand." Pausing for a moment, he removed his helmet and glanced at Samus, Gwen and EMily, gesturing vaguely at the Predator manhandling Hans.

"If you wish, I could save him. Though as you may have gathered, a pawn of the Carrion-Lord-" He spat this last phrase with palpable contempt; "-may not be a wise companion to keep. He would burn you all alive merely for tolerating my presence." With his helmet removed again, he was now able to see Sophia, slumped on the ground.

"Ah. And the little one requires attention, I think. If any of you have the expertise, you should see to her."

"Oh just let the two kill each other! They both sound like jerks and you aren't going to sway their opinions." Eric said having moved to a far corner from them and holding up his shield in a defensive position.

Samus would find that Sophia was alright for the most part. Her vitals seemed to be normal for the time being. The only cause for her fainting as she had seemed to be due to excessive fatigue. Samus would note however that symptoms such as low sugar levels, and high lactic acid weren't present, concluding that although she was showing symptoms of fatigue there wasn't a clear cause.
