You shrug and close your eyes, practising your skills by slipping past just the outermost layers of the weaves surrounding you. You would not disappear, but simply be a little fussy for the mind, becoming part of the background.

The link coming through, Shara would hear Elm explain the situation to the induvidual on the other side of channel. After this, it was quiet for a moment, then appolagised for allowing an armed outsider onto the station, ratiolising this as necessary for getting itself and Sam, who it reffered to as its "designated trial subject". This was followed by another moment's silence, where after Elm acknowledged something, then made a bleeping noise.

"Greetings. I'm known as Gaphal." Gaphal's voice rang out in a buisiness-like manner, through Elm's speaker, it serving as a relay. Elm still didn't enter the med bay, however. "While this isn't a desirable situation for either party here, I hope we can come to a compromise that favours both.

I've been informed about your terms. They are that you will give us information on an organization dedicated to dealing with extradimensional activities, in exchange that you and your ascociate currently undergoing operation will be permitted safe return to the dimension from which you were taken, correct?"

Keeping an eye on Shara, and noting her becoming steadily more difficult to keep in focus, Sam blinked pronouncedly behind his faceplate, wondering how she did it.

You confirm that those are the terms you suggested, and ask if they are agreeable to him. At the same time, you wonder to yourself if somehow, you could break Sam free of the control. You stop slipping past weaves as you study the power both holding him alive and in line. You are unable to decipher it's nature entirely, but the idea grows in your mind that if your own grip over weaves was far better, you might be able to break him free of his restrictions. You resolve to meditate much more when you have time, so that you may one day try.

"You'll understand, that this claim will need varification before we can agree on the terms." Gaphal stated. "I proppose the following; Give us the coordinates to this organization's headquarters now for varification purposes. If it checks out, we'll be agreed. You'll give us the rest of the information on them, and you'll be alowed to leave with your asociate, without incident."

You point out that they don't exactly have a sign on the front door that says "Welcome to the top-secret military organisation." On the surface, it will seem like any military base on Earth.

"Then that would do." Gaphal stated after a brief moment's silence. "If these people are tasked with dealing with extradimensional incursions, wherther this place is where we want to be or not could be judged by the reaction of who ever may patrol the ground, when they see a portal opening in the nearby vacinity. So. If you could reveal the coordinates to the perimiter insight of, but outside the restricted zone?"

With that said, Gaphal paused once more, then added, "You see, I'd like to assume you're being sincere and take your word on the matter, the situation makes your word is questionable without something to show for it."

By now, the medical pod had finished the surgery on Victoria, having just put in the last stitches, leaving her with small scars where the laser beams entered and exited. The cover of the pod slid back open, where after Victoria was levitated upwards, up to a few centimeters from the pod's bed. After this, two arms with a spray nozzle began spraying a white substance over exposed torso, stopping just above her trousers, the wrists, and under the chin. After three layers were sprayed on, the process stopped, and Victoria was lowered again, now wearing a shirt that resembled light cotton.

You nod and, after a short look at your communicator to make sure you are saying right, tell Gaphal that in the local Earth system, the base is located at 37° North and 115° West. The base is officially called Area 51, and you add that you do not believe the top guards know much about extra-dimensionals, since the entire project is deep underground.

As you are once again avoiding the most probing of Sam's weave, any sign that you might be lying is extremely difficult to see.

Sam had briefly glanced to Victoria when the operation was finished and she was levitated out above the pod, wondering just what the machine could do, but looked back to Shara when she spoke to Gaphal again. When her slipping through his weaves, he squinted his eyes as he looked on, unable to really get a read on Shara. Having been subjected to some of her mental tricks, he was a bit weary of the fact she appeared with the world's best poker face, but kept his thoughts to himself, electing to wait and see what would come of things.

"Alright. Now then, give us a moment while we 'test the water', so to speak," Gaphal said, then closed the radio channel. He then had a droid like Elm activated, but kept it remote controlled, deciding on dealing with the matter more personally, rather then entrusting it to a subordinate. While preparing the droid, he had employees working on the level the med bay was on move to an other level, and other security teams prepare to lock down the level and pump knockout gas through the ventilation system, in case Shara was lying. The security team that stood by outside the med bay remained where they were, however.

Once the droid was prepped, Gaphal put in the coordinates given by Shara, and opened the portal once the droid had gone through the necessary motions.
Outside the restricted zone of Area 51, the portal was opened, taking three seconds to get to that point. The portal opening would be easy to notice, due to the white ring surrounding it, and the rumbling noise the build-up produced.

Three minutes after the portal opened, a jeep driving from Area 51 appeared. It was military, armed with a top-mounted HMG and painted in desert camo that blended in well with the surrounding area. It stopped 300 metres from the probe, and one man got out of it. He used a pair of binoculars to identify the probe while another soldier got out and readied a rifle.

After Gaphal flew the droid through, a cover on the top of the droid slid bac, an antenna emerging from it. After this, Gaphal closed the portal in case something or someone had the idea to slip through, while a blue beam shooting out from the antenna created a miniature portal, alowing the droid to remain being being remote controlled.

Although circling it around, Gaphal kept the droid in the same area, while waiting for a vissible response. Spotting something in the distance, Gaphal had the droid remain in one place, and zoomed in on the jeep. Seeing the a soldier ready a rifle, Gaphal had the droid wave its arm in the air, the best idea he had to show the soldiers he had no intention of being hostile, not knowing a lot of how gestures would be recieved.

The soldier, using a sniper rifle, opened fire on the drone. It was clear that the security in this place was extremely high, and that they'd rather shoot first and ask questions later.

The droid wasn't build for taking gunfire, much less from a high-powered rifle, and was half taken apart when hit, parts strewn around the desert while the main body fell down with a thud, coming from the beam flickering as the signal was being lost, the droid steadily losing more power. As the droid began losing its last bit of power, the failsafe to prevent it falling into enemy hands kicked in, initiating the self-destruction. The droid imploded in on itself and taking a small amount of the surrounding area with it, crushing the remains to a sphere the size of a die, laying in a crater roughly a meter in diameter.
Gaphal frowned as the signal was lost, wondering in equal measure if waving one's arms in the air was a sign of aggression, and if place was actually what Shara said it was, finding it odd that the personel would shoot on shight, rather then move to detain an obvious extradimensional.

After a moment of thinking, Gaphal, while not entirely convinced the information given, decided that with a level evacuated, and the matter taking up time he, or even subordinates could better spend on other matters, it was better to get things over with.

Asking Elm to move into the med bay, Gaphal spoke over its speaker again when it did. "That was convincing enough. So, what information can you give us?" He asked, while Elm carefully watched Shara's facial and body language.

You say, as you stop slipping through weaves once more, that you can give the low-clearance access codes you have, a detailed view on what equipment their commandos use and their tactical abilities. Along with this, you have some information on their intelligence network. However, you add, before you tell any of this you want a portal to be prepared and ready.

"That a portal being prepared, I can agree on. But having it ready-made? And alow either you to run, or your others to enter here? No, no. That won't be happening." Gaphal replied, disapproval evident in his tone of voice.

"I could guard the portal, if you'd relieve me of this post." Sam suggested, largely to get out of a position where he'd need to strike at a defenseless person.

"That would be more acceptable... However, the portal would be set far, far away from where your ascociates are."

You accept, and suggest the city of London in England. Far away enough to prevent any of the group from intervening, yet in a position where you could get in contact with them once released.

"...No, we haven't the coordinates for that place. No way to choose somewhere secluded." Gaphal stated.

"I have set the coordinates to a mountain west of the nearest city to the location you were before." Elm stated. "Would that be agreeable?"

Rolling his shoulder, Sam moved from the spot he was standing at, stepping to just behind Elm, waiting for the negotiations to continue.

You think for a moment, then accept. As you wait for the portal, you begin to tell them about the less important things you know about XCOM. You explain their equipment, weaponry consisting of advanced, by Earth standards, firearms and occasional simple bladed weapons as back-up. Their armour is bullet-resistant on long ranges, but in close quarters it can be penetrated by high-power firearms. They are well-trained, but their organisation was only created a month or two ago, and their troops are still getting used to the whole idea of extra-dimensionals, making them fairly trigger happy.

As Shara began talking, Elm began hovering backwards, then turned to the left, facing the door. The coordinates set, it began running through the preperation necessary for opening the portal. When these were complete, it opened a portal to Fremont Peak, West of Cañon City, in the hallway outside of the med bay.

"So this force isn't a interstellar, or even global task force? Only national?" Gaphal asked, soundin irritated.

With the portal opened, Sam rested the flat side of the sword on his shoulder, and walked towards it, casting a glance at the guards still in the hallway.

You motion for Victoria to head through the portal, while you turn to the little floating robot. You say that it is an international force, pointing out that interstellar travel hasn't been invented in that dimension yet. You say these commandos are capable of deploying anywhere on Earth in a matter of hours. They operate in small, covert groups. The range of their intelligence network is unknown to you, but you do know it is large.
