Noting it was being scanned, Elm deployed counter measures against it. Samus would see a six characters of of Elm's eight character long serial number - being Y.LM-23 - before an error message appeared.

"Like I said, to use as a factor in disuading future confrontations. This can't be done when she is dead." It answered, opening the portal to the jet-bike hangar. Once Elm flew through, Elm portal closed on its side almost imediately, while two the portal closed after two seconds on Earth - a result of the time difference between universes.
Feeling the tap on his shoulder, Sam jumped a little, turning his head towards the shoulder he felt it on, and placing his right hand on the hilt of his sword. The tap being the first thing he felt in a long time, it spooked him a little.

You chuckle slightly at Sam's reaction, feeling his weave change in response to your tap. You slip deeper into your focus, forgoing your ordinary senses as you begin to actively slip through the weaves of those around you. For those around, you are harder to focus on, and it becomes easier to forget you are even there.

Setting down the jet-bike in an empty space, Elm turned off the vehicle's engine and released the magnetic locks. Floating out and towards the exit of the hangar, Elm opened a radio channel a team currently on stand-by, informing them of Shara's pressence in the med bay, currently unrestrained and armed with an unknown weapon, requesting that they move to detain her.
Acknowledging, a team of three, accompanied by one security drone, began moving towards the med bay. The drone moved up front, and the guards brought up the rear. The quarted of guards were on the same level as the med bay, but a fairly long distance from it.
Looking over his shoulder and not seeing anything there, Sam realized the tap must've been a trick of Shara's. Drawing his sword and pulling and holding the trigger. As the safety switch was still flicked off, the laser cutter was generated.

With his sword drawn, Sam looked back to Shara. Or at least, the place he thought Shara was standing. Affected by Shara's mental trick, he had forgotten where she was standing, and looked to a spot to Shara's right, instead of where she really was.

Stepping back to the side of the pod, Sam pulled back the arm of his sword arm, so the tip of the sword pointed down to where Victoria's heart was. "I don't want to do this, but I have my orders. Don't force my hand." He called out, audible with the helmet's speaker unmuted. He had thought about contacting someone about a possible security breach, but didn't know the frequency of anyone on the watch tower, and wasn't sure Elm had returned yet.

Reading Sam's weaves, Shara would sense Sam was highly alert, and that he was greatly irritated by the position he was on. She would also sense he wasn't bluffing, regardless of his dislike.

You chuckle again as you stop slipping through his weave. You ask with a joking tone if he is blind, or if that helmet just doesn't have a visor. You also point out that you haven't even drawn your weapon, even though you could probably have shot him dead while his back was turned from you. With a sigh you say that you are not here to fight him, but simply to see Victoria back safely once she has healed.

"Depends what you mean by blind, I guess." Sam responded dryly as he heard Shara speak. With Shara stopping slipping past his weave, Shara appeared in the corner of Sam's eye. Now that he could clearly see Shara again, Sam pulled his sword arm back, but kept the weapon drawn and active, staying on guard now that he knew Shara as capable of disappearing through some way he didn't understand.

Hearing Shara's second comment, Sam blew a small, artificial, sigh himself. "Giving her back? I don't think that's exactly the point of all this."
Leaving the hanger, Elm began making its way towards the central elevator, opening a radio channel to Sam as it went.

You say that there must have been a misunderstanding then, because neither you or Vicky will become hostages. The deal was that Sam and his robotic friend were allowed to live, in return for Vicky being healed. Otherwise, you would have shot both of them back on Earth.

"I don't know much more then you, here, but the talk of 'captives' this, and 'detaining' that?" Sam stated in a questioning manner, holding his arm out to the side slightly. "That's not exactly saying you or your fried are alowed to walk free, does it?" He added, lowering his arm again, and blowing an artificial sigh. "You might be alowed to walk - maybe - but if you ask me, your friend there isn't going anywhere."

On his visor, Sam saw the message saying Elm was trying to open a radio link to him, but he didn't open it, expecting Shara to attack, and didn't want to be distracted by needing to give a report.

Outside the single door of the medbay, two different kinds of footsteps could be heard approaching. They were still relatively faint for the moment, but quickly approaching.
Elm moved into the central elevator, and pressed the button. Finding Sam wasn't opening the link, Elm why he wasn't responding, and began calculating the scenario's that could've played out to cause it.

You say that you can give him and his masters some information on a secret organisation in return for your safe return, though you add that the four soldiers approaching should stay outside if a deal is to be struck. You ready yourself in case of battle, ready to slip through Sam's weave and, hopefully, bring him down in a swift attack.

"Info trade, huh? We can do that, or try, at least." Sam stated after humming. "Because the alternative? You don't want that, I don't want that." He added, heading towards the door upon hearing Shara's comment about the incoming guards. He moved in a way that kept Shara in his peripheral vision, just in case.

Reaching the door, it opened automatically, where after Sam stuck out the sword through the opening, laser cutter pointed downwards. "Hold on, hold on." He called out, with a dry tone, even with the situation being what it was. "You people keep your distance, alright? Elm put me up to dealing with this. And I could do that a lot better if you'd all just stay out there. Whoever you are." He explained.

"We were intructed by it to move in and detain the enemy." A male voice called out from beyond the door, the voice having a minor electronic distortion sound to it. The footsteps, however, stopped.

By now, the automated surgeon had repaired the majority of Victoria's cardio-vascular damage, and began working on repairing the damaged miscle tissue.

Still recieving the message indicating Elm tried to open a radio channel, Sam grunted, and with the voice command "Open channel", alowed the transmission to come through. Hearing Elm's voice, Sam didn't really go in on what was being said, instead saying, "Give me a moment", then closed the channel again with the corresponding command.

You stay ready, planning out how your moves in case this turns violent. However, you also wonder what exactly you can tell them about XCOM. Considering the trial you are facing anyway, you do not feel much loyalty towards them.

The sisters occupied their time by sitting down near where the portal closed.

The three were trying various methods of easing their tension as they waited for Shara to come back. Gwen closed her eyes and rested, waiting for any space-time distortions that come from portals. EMily was looking through her databases on Cañon City to see what is there for resources. Winona laid back in the grass with her arms crossed underneath her head, looking up at the sky.

OOC: Heading out for groceries soon.

After telling Elm off, and no longer presented the indicator that it wanted to open a radio link, Sam glanced back to Shara, keeping her in his sight, although this wouldn't be vissible behind the faceplate. "Okay so." Sam began again, adressing the security personel outside the door. "You could come in here and do as your told. But, the enemy isn't eager to turn herself over. And with closed quarters like these? Just think about the propperty damage a fight breaking out here would cause. Would any of you want to explain to the chief how that happen when the dust settles?" He asked, lowering the sword.

For a moment, there was no response, until the same voice called out; "Fine, but we're standing by."

With the security team talked down, Sam momentarily cocked his head slightly, a little wierded out by playing mediator. But it was better then being put in a position where he'd need to follow through on his orders. "So. About that exchange." he said, walking away from the door, and back to the pod Victoria was in. "The robot should be on its way here. You should talk to it about this. Me? I'm just doing what I'm told. The brainwork isn't really my department, here." he stated.

Sure enough, the central elevator carrying Elm reached the level the med bay was on. The doors open, Elm hovered out, heading towards it.

You nod, and close your eyes as you search Sam's weave once more. You look for what controls him, since you know he is not acting out of free will.

Samus stood still, arm cannon raised slightly, the only sign that she wasn't a statue being the repeated tapping of her fingers along the cannon's length.

Searching Sam's weave's, Shara would sense his conscious came from a complex force located near the heart, possibly on it. The brain was clinically dead, and gave off no signals what-so-ever. Being magical in nature, Shara wouldn't be able to completely comprehend the force, but she might be able to tell that it both kept him 'alive', and laden with measures that made it physically impossible for Sam to act against them. Often presented, one of these protocols would be disobeying orders.

With Shara nodding, Sam stopped pressing the trigger on the hilt, and flicked the safety switch back on to break the laser beam, although he didn't sheathe the blade. From time to time, he glanced down at Victoria's pod while waiting.

After roughly fourty seconds, Elm made its way to the med bay, but didn't enter. As it wasn't build for combat, it didn't want to risk it. "Why is the captive not detained?" It called out.

Hearing Elm's voice, Sam looked to the door, then to Shara. "Take it away."

You tell Elm that you were in the employ of a military organization on Earth tasked with dealing with extra-dimensionals. In return for you and Vicky's safe return to Earth, you are willing to part with information about this organization.

"I've heard about this." Elm said in response. "However. Why this information could prova valluable to us, it does nothing to ensure that our operation in realm 223 can continue without being interupted by your ascociates, which was the purpose behind capturing your friend." It explained.

Sam stood by and watched Shara's body language carefully. While things were less tense then before, it were so minimally. He kept his thumb on the sword's safety switch, tapping it slightly at times.

You point out that before too long this military organisation will apprehend the group. You know where their base is, you know how their troops are trained, you know what technology they have, and you even know some lower-grade access codes of theirs. Without this knowledge, continuing to spy on the group will be next to impossible.

Watching your body language, Sam would probably notice that you are quite tense. However, you are difficult to read, as you almost habitually slip past the outermost reaches of Sam's weave.

Elm didn't imediately respond to Shara's comment, going over the implications of this. It just about picked up that the group was wanted in court from Shara's conversation with Samus, but it missed the fact that the group themselves were to go on trial. After going over the implications, it began calculating the probability of Shara lying. Although it couldn't read Shara's body language, from reading signals in her tone of voice, it came to the conclusion that she was likely telling the truth.

"I'm not autherised to make this desicion. Please stand by while I inform my superior." It eventually said, then began contacting Gaphal.

With Shara slipping past his weaves, it took Sam longer then he would normally, but eventually, he got a read on Shara, noting her tense posture.
