When Samus stood in front of the door, a large spear burst through the wood, going straight for her torso.
One of the officers turned to look at EMily, however before he could speak a second spear came through the wall and into his abdomen.

Samus stepped back as the spear burst though the door, almost firing off her charged shot by accident. Due to her moving, the spear stabbed into her armour but only enough to leave a scratch. "Get back!" she commanded, waving the others to step away with her free arm.

EMily helped move the injured officer to someplace where he wouldn't get hit by another spear. With her hands she helped suppress the pain receptors, and sealed the wound with a short-range laser.



She regained her former energy after she tended to the officer.

"Some gas grenades would probably be effective." Yorick said to EMily as he stood around.

Seras also backed away from the door. "How do they always know we're coming..." she muttered to herself.

 

[Slenn]

"That would most likely kill their hostages." She replied to Yorick.

The officers moved to the opposite wall, and trained their guns on the door.
If Yorick or Seras were standing next to the gymnasium wall, the two spears would come through the wall, aimed at their torsos.
The officer who had been stabbed followed EMily's advice.

"-_- Tear gas, EMily. Tear gas. I don't think police officers carry poisonous gas with them." Yorick said to EMily. Then a spear crashed through the wall at him. "Yeah, well fuck you too!" Yorick shouted as he drew a large claymore sword and attempted to cut the tip off of the spear.

The other spear also missed Seras, so she grabbed the spear and attempted to snap it.

 

[Slenn]

"Oh, that." She facepalmed, her eyes still glowing blue.

EMily remained at the side of the door.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"If they knew we were coming, they might have killed the hostages already." Samus said grimly, glaring at the door. "We need to enter right now and see if there are any survivors."

Yorick failed to cut the spear in two, as it was pulled back inside the before he got his sword out.
Seras grabbed the spear, which was then sharply yanked back out of her grip, causing small cuts on the palms of her hands.
One of the SAT officers approached the door cautiously, keeping low, and fed a small camera under the door.

 

[Slenn]

Noting that the spears were pulled back from the door, that would mean that the mermen were feet away.
"They must be just behind the door. Be careful."

"So, EMily, ask about the tear gas maybe?" Yorick said as he moved away from the wall and crouched.

Seras hissed as her hand quickly healed itself. Yorick sighed and handed Seras the sword, thinking she would be able to use it better.

Samus waited to see what the officer with the camera would report.

one of the officers replied.
The camera-using officer finished setting everything up. He was holding a small tablet-like device, displaying the feed from the camera.

They most likely have something of the sort in this century.

"They don't want to risk gassing." She relayed to Yorick, still keeping her voice down.

The officer nodded and indicated a grenade that he was carrying.

"...Tear gas was made for situations like this. What is wrong with these guys." Yorick said to EMily, quite frustrated.
