OOC: Personally I'd love to interact with Mordin and/or Thane.

Will was hitting a good number of the soldiers, but they were becoming overwhelming for him. He needed to move to a safer area. Once Joe and Travis caused enough of a distraction, he bolted to a store that was behind the car and took a moment to rest.

 

[Arrogancy]

OOC: Yeah, I was afraid something like this might happen. I'm a bit everywhere at the moment. I have a few upcoming tests that are consuming quite a bit of time to study for. I'll try to get something akin to a plot going though.

Mat was trying his best to avoid getting hit, while simultaneously killing as many attackers as he could at the moment. He dashed forward at the nearest line of soldiers and struck, ashandarei whirling. In the distance he began hearing screams, far from his own companions. Within a few moments a thick fog descended over the area, blinding attackers and attacked alike. There was something familiar about it, Mat thought, something evil too. It felt...wrong. Mat slowly began fumbling about, trying to find his companions when he realized why it looked so familiar. "RUN!" He shouted, hoping his allies heard him. "RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!" In the distance, he heard mad laughter, and the sounds of inhuman monsters lurching in the fog, often accompanied by horrible screams of the dying.

 

[Random berk]

OOC: I'll bring Thane into the story at some point, I guess. I'll give all the interesting characters a cameo. Except Mordin. I'm afraid that thanks to a lucky shot from one of the Collectors, Mordin is no longer a member of this Shepard's crew.

Shepard was taking down soldiers with no trouble. Garrus terminated anyone who so much as poked their heads out of cover. Tali's combat drone harassed the enemy soldiers, zapping them with its probes and causing them to break cover where they were quickly shot to pieces. As Shepard ejected a white hot thermal clip that magmatised the concrete it landed on, she saw a wave of fog rolling in behind the Russians.
"What the hell is that?" She heard Mat's warning. "Do you know something about that? What's going on?" Moving back, she created another singularity and fired several more bursts from her SMG, trying to suppress the Russians.

The Deltas heard Mat's shouts, and turned. Gamma threw a line of mines behind the group as they ran. Whatever was pursuing them would hopefully be blown into the sky.

 

[Arrogancy]

The Myrdraal stalked through the fog. His master's presence was all around him. Not his first master, his new one, the one called Fain. Fain was frightening. That a Myrdraal should admit that of any opponent was in and of itself quite a feat. Cauthon was here, it refocused, Cauthon was Fain's prey, and he was to bring it to him. That was the reason for the fog. Killing anyone else was irrelevant, but Fain did enjoy it. The rest would die and Cauthon would be brought to Fain so he might kill him properly.

The Myrdraal could pierce the fog more easily than the humans who currently were lost in it. Not too far away, one with a glowing sword was meeting up with another human just emerging from a nearby building, with him was an odd figure without depth. They didn't matter. Cauthon did. There. Cauthon dashed forward and ran almost directly into the one with the depthless man. Both of those would have to die, he thought, and prepared to strike.

Joe knocked out some of the soldiers, hitting their helmets with a flurry of hits until they were too raddled to even think.

As he looked over to the army, a fog rolled over the feet of the army. "What's going on, who started the smoke machine?!"

As the figure jumped at Joe he scream "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?"

 

[Random berk]

Garrus jumped out through the window, landed heavily in a crouch, and straightened up to retreat with the rest. He joined Shepard and Tali as the team began to retreat.

"Joker! Shepard shouted. "Are you seeing this?"
"Yes Commander, I've got you on the surveillance cameras."
"Good, do a full scan on that mass of fog! I want to know all of its properties, anything about it that could be a threat!"
"I'm on it, just give me a moment."

"Right, the fog looks unremarkable, but thermal imaging shows a number of figure inside. One of them has to be the guy with the energy swordThere's a couple of others with him. Looks like they're under attack!"
"Got it!" Shepard said. "Garrus, Tali, on me!" Shepard set the visor over her right eye to thermal imaging and moved into the fog, Locust at the ready.

OOC: Random: D:...I would have restarted. In fact I did, several times when I played ME2. I really didn't want anyone on my team to die in the end. Anyway...WALL O' TEXT (sort of).

As Will tried to collect himself in the store he heard noises coming from the back. The sound of heavy footsteps and orders being whispered, though it was in a foreign language that he didn't understand. 'They're trying to flank us.' he thought as ducked behind a counter and watched the soldiers approach by the reflection of the stores front window. His rifle was empty and he had no time to reload it. He pulled out his Colt and his Scofield at the same time. He counted at least eight soldiers coming toward him. There was no possibility of retreat and there was no telling how much damage they would do to his companions if they went unnoticed.

Carefully waiting till the right moment, he cocked his revolvers just before he stood up and began firing into the group of soldiers. Most were caught completely off guard and were killed instantly, others managed to get a few shots off, a few grazed Will but nothing serious. One solider was faster than all the others and as Will slowly walked around the counter and dropped the rest of the soldiers, the fast one raised his rifle at Will. He saw this and fired at him first. His bullets struck the man's gun and rendered it inoperable, but Will's guns were also out of ammo.

The solider drew a knife and charged at Will. Having no time to draw his sabre, Will dodged back and hit the solider with the butt of his revolver. He staggered and Will drew his sword. Before he could use it the solider tackled hem to the floor. He went to stab him, but Will's struggling made it so the knife only left a small cut on his cheek. He punched the man in the face a few times, then threw him off. He drew the Bowie knife from his boot and buried it into the soldiers chest.

 

[Arrogancy]

"JOE!" Mat said, almost colliding with the stickman. "Joe, we need to leave, run-Look out!" He said, shoving Joe and rolling to the side as the Myrdraal's blade struck. The hooded monster struck again toward Joe, forcing him back, before turning his sights on Mat.

 

[Random berk]

OOC: I have five characters. The first time I lost Thane Jack and Legion. The second time, just Mordin. The third time I lost a bunch of the crew but none of the team, and the last two times no one died.

As Joe was knocked back he used the momentum to throw his sword behind him, which stuck fast into the ground. Joe then jumped onto the edge of it, and sprung back at Mydraal. I'll have a much easier time running from this guy then Mat he thought. He swung at Mydraal's head from behind, although he didn't have the full weight behind the sword, it did make Myrdraal stagger for a moment. Joe then grabbed Matby the hand, and ran the other way

OOC: Yeah...the crew always ended up being dead for me...except for the doctor. I also would like to see Legion. Another character I really liked.

Will collected and reloaded all his weapons as fast as he could so he could meet back up with the others. When he looked out the window he saw a dark fog rolling in. "Now what is this all about?" He asked as he walked out into it with his rifle ready.

OOC: If anyone cares to know, I was listening to Motorhead's "Heroes" while I wrote that long post.

 

[Arrogancy]

"I'll explain later!" Mat called to Sherman as he and Joe began to run. "For now just RUN!" The Myrdraal regained its balance quickly and set off after them, the sounds of terror and death deep within the fog amplifying. Mat would kill the thing, but only after they were out of the fog. Only once they were safer.

 

[Drakmorg]

Travis was so worked up from fighting he hardly noticed the fog until it had completely covered his position. After dispatching the last soldier he was fighting, he realized he was in an extremely compromising position. "Shit. Gotta get out of here and fast. No telling what my sneak up on me in here." Travis ran off in a random direction hoping to get out of the fog as quickly as possible. He exited the fog to find a store with several dead soldiers outside. Travis noticed William exiting the shop and said to him, "Nice work with those guys. Now C'mon, we gotta meet up with the others. This fog is giving me a really creepy vibe."

OOC: Legion has actually already been in the story. He was the sniper aiming the Widow rifle at Gamma. He'll be back though.

Shepard spotted a number of figures struggling in the fog. She approached, stepping over bodies as she went. The augmented vision of her visor told her that these were Mat and Joe, being atacked by another individual. She switched to the Carnifex and tried to take aim at the assailant. All she needed was one shot, but she couldn't risk it in case she hit her allies. At that point however, Mat and Joe broke off and ran. Shepard immediately fired a shot at the enemy, and turned to run as well.

OOCArrogancy The Carnifex is a seriously powerful handgun, I use it in place of a sniper rifle when I can't get one of those. No doubt it won't kill the Myrdraal, but say it misses, or that he can't be killed except by a shot to the heart or something. His armour won't stop it. Or just disregard this, one opportunistic shot isn't really that important anyway.

Will heard Travis run up to him and say, "Nice work with those guys. Now C'mon, we gotta meet up with the others. This fog is giving me a really creepy vibe."

"I Believe I just heard Mat say we should run and went off that way. If we are lucky the others will be in the same area. Come on." he said as he started heading where he saw Mat and Joe go.

OOC: Do we have any superfluous characters that I can kill off?

The Myrdraal almost made it to Cauthon. Fast as he was, he was only human, then a shot rang past his head. It hissed. A woman in the distance had leveled a shot at it, and the Myrdraal was sorely tempted to run after her. Kill her and leave her for the ravens, but no. Cauthon was the target. Cauthon was the one he would capture. The others could wait until later.

Joe ran through the fog, Mat waving behind him as he sprinted out. "What the does that thing want?!" Myrdraal jumped out in front of the two, Joe stopped with a cloud of dust. "Um... hi there, how's it going guy?"

OOC: Do we have any superfluous characters that I can kill off?

OOC: One moment...

Shepard's shuttle reappeared and dropped off two of her ex Cerberus personnel into the fog, before goin to land outside of it.

"Commander!" One of them shouted. "Come on, follow us! The shuttle is over there, you need to get out of here! The situation is too dangerous!"

OOC: Or kill Mu if this seems a little too contrived.
