Skye paused for a few moments before her book slid off of her lap and onto the floor. She covered her mouth and held back tears as she managed to choke out. [color=330033] [small] "Please... take me there." [/small] [/color]

A few moments later, the hologram expanded into a large menu of sliders and controls. All the controls would be for editing her voice along with a preview button.

 Please adjust the pitch, inflection, et cetera, until you are satisfied with your new voice. Then hit 'Complete'. When operating this device and wishing to revert to your normal voice, please drag the switch on the bracelet to the red(off) position.

The hologram showed a picture of the bracelet and the switch to the right side of the button she pressed before.

Once speaking, the sheet of paper blinked from its white color to a vibrant red, before Rex and Skye stood side by side in the middle of a desert, with a modest wood building sitting in front of them.
Around them, a trickle of people arrived, using a similar method to arrive as Rex and Skye. Besides the fact that most walked on two legs, there seemed little to no similarity to them, from men in uniform to robotic soldiers to lizard men and everything in between. They might notice high Templar Silas, who stared at both Rex and Skye for a moment before turning to walk into the small wooden house.

Seems simple enough. Jessica went about using the holographic interface to adjust the sliders, periodically pressing the preview button to hear what her modified voice would sound like. I have no idea what I'm doing... After she had spent enough time messing around with the settings to feel like she was making it look like she knew what she was doing, she eventually settled on a series of settings and pushed the 'complete' button. She put the bracelet on, checking to make sure it was turned on before doing so. "Sooo...how do I, er, sound?"

Rex shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked on. Skye latched onto his arm unexpectedly, wearing a sullen expression as they advanced to the building.

Ness looked over and smirked a bit. The girl's voice sounded a lot smoother than before and higher pitched. [color=FF4599] "You sound a lot different... which is good. How about me? Don't forget your nanosheet." [/color] She said as she handed the clear sheet to her before finally taking her altimeter clip out of her pocket and into her hair and tying it into a ponytail. [color=FF4599] "When you're ready.. we'll head back into that room in Fourside." [/color]

The people they passed all held similar sheets as Rex and Skye did, and the expressions seemed to cross the various stages of bereavement. over the door, a banner hung, with the phrase 'Not gone, merely marching far away'.

Rex kept a neutral face as he looked at the banner and walked into the house. Skye looked much more depressed, already having stray tears running down her face as she continued to hold on Rex's arm.

[color=330033] "Why did... it have to come to this?" ...Sinclair did this... It's all her fault... Had she not been so stupid to get caught, this wouldn't have happened! [/color]

The foxgirl slowly clutched Rex's arm a little tighter as they moved on.

Jessica held the nanosheet in front of her after being handed it and looked at it. Blushing slightly, she lifted up the edge of her shirt with one hand and reached in to stick the nanosheet on her chest with the other. Glancing back up at Ness, she said, "You sound pretty different too. And before we leave I should probably do something with my hair and eyes like you did."

Ness blinked before nodding repeatedly. [color=FF4599] "Yes... you definitely should put it on your skin. I did the same thing." [/color] She motioned for Jess to follow her back up to the 3rd floor. [color=FF4599] "Hmmm? Roxy didn't show you the dyes and contacts? Well, that's pretty easy to remedy. Back to her shop then." [/color]

Once inside, they would find the house was a bar, filled with patrons. All were drinking, dancing, and talking. At the bar, Eve worked, waving to Rex and Skye once they walked in. A jukebox in the corner was currently playing walk, by the foo fighter, [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J5PYzkzDQI] and the only real sign of why these people were here was a small picture of Bryce hanging over the bar, showing his true age of 47.

Rex and Skye both walked up to Eve, Rex smiling in recognition as he sat up on the bar. [color=000066] "Been a damn long time, Eve. ...Sorry about Bryce. We couldn't stop him... mostly due to one of our own getting mind controlled..." [/color]

Skye simply sat in silence, gritting her teeth a small bit at the mention of mind control.

Tophat moved through the streets of the capital, moving closer to the hotel. It had donned a dirty old cloak, and was carrying itself in a bag on the end of a stick. With its clothes hidden beneath its cloak, and its sword hidden inside as well, Tophat was quite unrecognisable. Still, it kept to the backstreets to avoid unneccessary risks.

Eve had a pained look pass her face, before she smiled at Rex and Skye. "There's no need to discuss Bry's death here. I understand you were with him, but I can tell you right now that if Bryce could tell you, he'd say not to blame yourselves. He was a big guy, could handle himself.This here's a more walk down memory lane. Talk with the people here, remember the good times with Bryce, find a port in the storm." she nodded to Skye, and pointed at a small staircase leading to a higher floor. "Skye, could you check on something upstairs? Second door on the right." after saying this, she was drawn farther down the bar by a giant floating jellyfish requesting a refill. She rushed down there, plopped a bag of saline in front of him, and rushed back to the group.
as this went on, the song currently playing on the jukebox began winding down, and a new song began taking over,Alive, by Adelita's Way. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP8VLQgatAE] Eve scowled, and looked to Rex. "If you don't like the song, just give me a heads up. I didn't like everything Bry listened to, and he wouldn't mind us flipping past some songs on the catalogue. If you want, just head to the jukebox and put a song on."

Rex stopped before nodding and walking over to the jukebox, tapping the skip button. [color=000066] "Sorry 'bout that, then. But seriously... it's been too long. Have you just been taking care of this bar since that time in the Expanse?" [/color]

Skye simply nodded toward Eve before walking upstairs and following Eve's instructions. [color=330033] I wonder... what it is...? [/color]

Eve chuckled. "Well, for a year or two, I had trouble adjusting. This place was very different from home, and Bryce wanted to make sure I felt comfortable. After that, there was the kid, and Bryce took the job the WAOA offered to find you guys, and time kind of just slipped by." she polished the bar a bit, before nodding to herself. "You should have seen him when he got home after finding you lot. Spent a few days with Rozlynn, and then headed out to request 2 weeks time to work in the event. God, if I had told him not to go..." Eve kept working at the bar, seeming to focus on a spot on the bar and rubbing at it with her towel.

in the room Skye walked into, a young child was playing with some building blocks. she looked up and smiled at Skye, looking very much like Bryce, although her nose was button nosed and her hair copied Eve's color. "Hi there! I'm Roz! Are you one of daddy's friends?"

Rex tilted his head a bit. [color=000066] "You two had a kid? ...and he named them after Roz, huh? That's kind of deep." [/color] Noting Eve wanting not to talk about it, he sighed. [color=000066] "Well, he was only doing his job... The WAOA isn't something to take lightly, I see." [/color]

Skye rubbed her eyes under her glasses before registering that it was indeed a kid in front of her. She crouched down and nodded a bit. [color=330033] "Yes... I'm his virus' granddaughter, Skye. It's... nice to meet you, Roz." [/color]

@Dotslash: My bad, I thought Ness stuck the nanosheet on the chest of her clothing, not her actual chest. Edited.

Jessica shook her head and followed after Ness. "No, she just showed me the clothes. It was probably just my fault for leaving right after I picked out my clothing."

Ness sucked her teeth a bit as she led Jess back into the shop. [color=FF4599] "Huh. It's not like her to be so forgetful. Anyway..." [/color] She walked her over to a section of the shop with boxes of hair dyes and contacts of every color imaginable. [color=FF4599] "Take your pick, Jess!" [/color]

He worried about her, the original, a lot. But I suppose I should warn you, the WAOA isn't too happy with Ness right now. In fact, I've been hearing a few whispers of an inquiry. Roz looked at Skye, staring. suddenly, a voice that didn't fit her size, much more deeper and male, said "So you're the one dad talked about, huh? Well, nice to meet you niece. Name's Adam." the child extended its hand to shake Skye's, Roz's skin changing to a deep red to demonstrate Adam's powers. as he spoke, Roz's eyes frosted over with red.

Jessica nodded and smiled at Ness before turning her attention to the options laid out before her. It took a few minutes of perusing before Jessica had found some colors she felt she would be happy with. She picked out what she wanted, then wandered off to find a place where she could apply her hair dye. A short while later, she wandered back over to where she had left Ness, her hair dyed a violet color and wearing a set of contact lenses that seemed to mimic the blue color of her eyes when she was under Loki's control. She wasn't used to wearing contacts so she had a vague look of un-comfortableness about her as she tried to adjust to the feeling.
