"Thank you very much, Reiss!" Jessica replied with he own smile. She breathed out deeply and let herself flop over to where she was laying down on the bed with her feet hanging off the edge. "I'm okay with that. Probably not the best idea to go rushing into things immediately right now anyway....To tell the truth I'm still not feeling 100% since coming off being played around with like a puppet."

Skye sighed. [color=330033] "I'm not sure he much choice in the matter. He knew what he was getting into travelling dimensions.. and these things happen. ...I've seen them happen with my own eyes. Maybe he could've taken more time off to watch you two... but I'm not him. I can't speak for him... Forgive me." [/color]

Rex took a swig before raising the glass, not really talking to anyone but himself. [color=000066] "Here's to you cowboy. May not have always had the best ideas, but you sure as hell went at everything you did with everything you had. You and I were a lot alike... probably why we stuck together back in that Expanse. I can't say I'll keep your memory going, since I'm a dumbass, but I'll never forget ya. ...And I'll find Roz somehow and tell her the news. ...I'm pretty sure that's what you'd want me to do now..." The man quickly downed the rest of the drink and laid his head on the counter.

Ness/Reiss flopped down aside of Jess/Sam and sighed. [color=FF4599] "Heh. I can't really blame you. These contacts aren't just for show. I had to have them made specially just to make looking at lights less painful. It's still a bit of a pain to try and look at things without squinting." [/color] Smiling a bit at Jess calling her by her ailas, Ness calmly reached down and held her friend's hand, closing her eyes for a moment.

"Yeah...I'm really sorry for getting you involved in all this once again. If I were just better, then none of all that unpleasantness would have happened..." As Jessica felt Ness holding her hand, she grasped her friend's hand as well. "I just want to say again that I appreciate you helping me with this...I still wouldn't hold it against you if you just wanted to call your vacation done with and leave though." She turned her head from staring at the ceiling as she had been to looking Ness in the face.

"I'm sorry. I just don't know how to feel right now. There's too much shit right now, and I just feel like if I look down and check my chest it'll be bleeding everywhere, and a part of me wishes dad had infected the world so I wouldn't be the only virus left, and I just. Hell, I wish I could be like Rozlynn sometimes. She cries, she sucks it up, she listens to mom. And she seems tired, and a little beat up, but not like this." tears began streaming down Roz's face, and she rubbed her eyes. "I can't even cry without her letting me use her eyes. God, she thinks I'm pathetic, I know-It's okay Adam. You aren't being silly to me. Miss Skye, can you go now? I think Adam is done talking." Roz said, taking over for Adam. She went back to playing with some blocks and humming to herself.

Eve smiled at Rex, and kissed him on the back of the head. "He wanted me to give you this if he died. And since you're planning to find Roz, give her this as well." she slips him two small game pad like devices, with a play, pause, rewind, and fast forward feature on them. "Thanks for being here Rex. I know it would mean a lot to Bryce."

Ness looked over toward Jess and shook her head a bit, smiling a small bit. [color=FF4599] "You know I'm not going to leave you hanging on this. And it's not your fault this happened... We both could have done a little bit better in situations." [/color] Especially me.... [color=FF4599] "I'll still have time to relax once this is all over with.. Hopefully, you'll have some free time too." [/color]

Skye looked over at Roz and bowed to her before leaving. [color=330033] "I'm sure we'll find each other again. And don't worry... next time, I find myself here, I'll bring you a sibling to play with." [/color] With that and a swish of the tail, Skye closed the door behind her, rubbing a few tears from her eyes. [color=330033] [small] "Damn it. A 2 year old is more emotionally stable than I am... What a universe..." [/small] [/color] She headed back downstairs, still rubbing her eyes.

Rex looked up at the devices and took them both, stashing them into his hoodie pockets. [color=000066] "Thanks. Means a lot to hear than from you. ...Should I wait until I find Roz to play this...?" [/color]

Eve shook her head. "Roz one's for Roz, The one for you is for you. You watch it when you think you can watch it."

Skye walked to Rex's side as he nodded and hit the play button. In a rare show of respect, he took off both his headphones and his beanie, revealing disheveled black hair. Skye looked at the screen as well, curious.

"I guess we both just have to promise to do our best from here on out so stuff like this doesn't happen anymore, huh?" Jessica replied to Ness, giving her a small smile and a chuckle. "I honestly can't say what I'll be doing once all of this is over with. I won't forget about trying to make time to come see you though, even if I can't manage it, just remember that."

on the video, Bryce sat rubbing his face. "Hey Rex. Suppose if this is being watched, I got killed. Hopefully I drowned in milk or something weird and remarkable, instead of the usual get shot and bleed out that everyone around me seems to take some variation of." He paused, and removed his hands. "Sorry if this isn't what you were expecting, or you've seen some of the other videos I recorded. I figure, you of all people don't need me telling you I loved hanging out with you, right? Shit, I made that clear with you whenever I could. These things are mostly for Skye, and Rozlynn, and Eve. They're a bit squishier when it comes to feelings, I feel. Nothing wrong with that. Probably better and healthier, in the long run. Doubt I need to tell you that."
He sighed, and shifted in his chair. "I just want to let you know, that when I met you I was around 35. I'd seen a lot of the world, visited Japan, China, few bits in Europe, most of America... I'd had a hell of a time in life, you know? Ready to settle down and live pretty quietly. But looking back, my favorite time? It was in the expanse. Despite everything, I loved it there. It had the sense of a new beginning. I didn't need to hide that I was some sort of anti christ, pretend the virus in me was a monster so that I wouldn't feel bad for containing it, and I met the best people I've ever had the pleasure of fighting alongside. I hope, that if the thing killing me gives me a second or two before I die, I get to think back on it. Be nice to go out with those memories."
Bryce tapped his chair arm twice. "Thanks buddy. I'll miss you."
The screen flickered off.

Ness nodded, chuckling a bit as well. [color=FF4599] "Exactly, but that shouldn't be too hard for us. We know a little more about what to expect. And I'm glad to hear it. Even though you said your place isn't that nice, I still want to see it sometime." [/color]

Rex just smirked at the video before stashing it back into his pocket and putting his beanie and headphones back on. [color=000066] You heard what I said before. We'll see each other in the afterlife soon enough. [/color] Skye simply stayed silent. Turning to Eve, he gave her a small bow. [color=000066] "Thanks for having us over, Eve... but we need to get back to our world. " [/color]

Eve nodded. "Just tear the sheet of paper you teleported here with. Before you go, Skye," she pulled out another videoplayer. "This ones for you. Watch it in your own time."

Skye nodded as she took the player. She also gave Eve a bow before the duo both tore their respective sheet of paper. Rex ended up back in his room and Skye was back in her lab, the book still on the floor.

She sighed and sat back down before pressing play on the recorder.

"I wouldn't count on seeing my current place. First thing I'm gonna do when I can is find someplace better. I'm not even sure two people could comfortably exist in my current apartment." Jessica replied to Ness with another lighthearted chuckle. She tightened her grip on Ness' hand before saying, "Though I wouldn't hold it against you if you left, I think I'd honestly be scared out of my mind trying to do this myself. As much as I feel like I have to do this...it terrifies me on the inside thinking what we're up against right now."

Ness noted Jess' grip increase and she looked toward Jess, her smile faded a small bit. [color=FF4599] "...I feel the same way. We're basically up against an entire nation. Even fighting back home doesn't scare me as much as this does... so I'm really glad that I can help you as much as I can... This isn't something anyone should try and do alone like in the movies." [/color] She said, her smile coming back faintly near the end.

Caesar sat in the same chair he had been sitting in for Rex's video. His eyes were already red, and he was looking into the camera intently. "Skye, if you've gotten this, then I've died. You deserve to know the truth, if no one else."

I've kept it a secret for a while now, used Bryce as a secret identity, kept as many things as I could as secret as possible, but it seems one of my nemeses has found me and terminated me. I can only hope they stop their path with vengeance with me, as that is the only way this video will reach you. I can trust anti viral man will hold his hand on me, but Floss boy, if my plan to kill the Dentist goes through, will almost certainly seek to kill Eve and Rozlynn in front of me before my dea-dear fucking god, will you stop with the stupid jokes? Seriously Caesar, for god's sake, this is the last images Skye will have of you! Fucking get it together, and act seriously. fine, fine, I'm sorry I tried to make her laugh after what would most likely be a traumatizing experience. I'll suck it up and act like a big boy now, okay?"

I had just gotten freed from the prison Bryce kept me in, I'd seen my first son act as the villain I knew he was, and Balthier and the child he carried with him dying... Rough times. But you, coming in to all of it? You by yourself made all that suffering worthwhile. From the few times I spent with you, I was so proud that coming from one of the most difficult sources hadn't hurt you. I can only imagine the kind of beautiful woman and unique person you'll grow into. My regret will be never getting to see you before the end."
"I want you to know I love you, no matter what. You prove yourself able to handle Yukino quite well, and keep your sanity in that hellhole of a mind..."
he bit the inside of his lip, and smiled. "That's pretty much everything I wanted to say. Take care of yourself, and others. Don't let Yukino push you around. Know I love you, no matter what. Hope to see you someday granddaughter."

Skye rewinded the video a few times, laughing softly through her tears at Caesar's little joke. She eventually placed the player down on the table next to her and sighed. [color=330033] "...We'll see each other eventually, granddad. Be it sooner or later... I'll make you proud..." [/color]

She calmly clenched her fist before pulling out an old project she had shelved, reinvigorated to try and get it working again. The girl went long into the night making progress on it...

As she did so, Rex walked into the portal room and smack the random button before walking through. [color=000066] "And let's hope this doesn't take too fucking long..." [/color] He muttered before walking through.

Jessica stared intently at Ness for a few moments after she finished speaking, then breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at the ceiling. "Thank goodness! You have no idea how happy that makes me feel to hear that. I thought I may have just been a coward, but if you're really scared too then that means this is something to actually be scared of and this is perfectly normal." She looked back at Ness and said, "I'm sorry, I just felt like I needed to get that out."

Ness looked a little surprised toward Jess before letting out a small giggle. [color=FF4599] "I guess with the way I've kept throwing myself into danger for people that that's a fair thing to say. Honestly, I don't think anyone who tries to something that changes the world is at least a little scared when they think about doing it.. Honestly, I'd be a lot more worried if you were too calm about all of it." [/color]

She let out a small yawn and moved a little closer to Jess.

Jessica breathed in and out deeply. "Well I feel better getting that off my chest. Now I can at least try and act confident without feeling like I'm lying to everyone." She yawned shortly after she finished speaking. "Yeah, sleep sounds like a good idea. Not gonna get anywhere if we're too exhausted to move."

Ness nodded as she nodded lazily to Jess. [color=FF4599] "Good... We'll need to be on our A-game from here on out. Goodnight, Sam..." [/color] She giggled before giving her a small peck on the cheek before drifting off to sleep, cozied up next to her friend.
