Ness blinked a bit at Jess' reaction before nodding lightly. "Right... I'm just making sure.. I'm honestly still a little wary of Tophat. It can just peer into our minds and things like that. It's a bit unnerving to say the least." Turning to Jess, she scratched the back of her black hair. "I don't think it's completely necessary. I don't think you've been under long enough to end up broken... like Ms. Rita..."

"I'm taught to be wary around telepaths too...but I kinda have to give Tophat the benefit of the doubt on anything. I mean, you've read that book I gave you, I wouldn't even exist right now if not for Tophat." Jessica replied to Ness with a shrug. "I-I still want it to take a look though...I mean, I don't know how long Rita was under, longer than me for sure, but I don't know how long...there might be something slinking around in my brain...I just want to be sure." Jessica's tone started to become noticeably more nervous.

Rita, who was still right next to Ness and Jess, curled into a ball. I'm...broken?

Ness noticed Rita curling up into a ball and raised an eyebrow. Is she starting to come around...? Turning back to Jess, Ness sighed before nodding. "Alright... if you want to, you can ask Tophat. I was under control for a pretty short time, so I'll pass on it... I don't think he managed to slip anything into my mind..." I hope...

Jessica glanced over at Rita and noticed that she had shifted in position. She looked back at Ness and said, "Maybe we should actually give Rita some time alone...she probably doesn't appreciate that we've been talking about her like she wasn't here...like I'm doing right now." She made a move to the door of the room, along the way saying, "Oh, I just remembered, I never got around to fixing our mental link. You want to do that now?"

Ness got up and nodded, suddenly blushing a small bit as she realized she'd been gossiping in front of Rita's face. [color=666666] "Uh... Yes, you're probably right. And sure, we should get to doing that soon, I'm still having that odd feeling." [/color]

Before getting up to leave, she turned to Rita and bowed slightly. "I'm really sorry I was talking about you so casually. Please forget what I said... I probably said a lot of things that weren't true about you."

Before stepping out into the hallway, Jessica reactivated her voice modifier. Right after setting her hand on the door handle, she heard Ness apologizing to Rita and performed an about face. "Yeah...I'm sorry for what I said too...can't feel nice having someone say something about you needs to be fixed...really, just terribly sorry about that." With that, she turned back around and left the room. She stood around in the hallway next to the room, leaning against the wall and waiting for Ness to follow her out.

Ness made sure to make an animated motion of activating her voice modulator, so Rita would see it and understand what the devices would do before following Jess out and standing next to her, putting her hands in her hoodie pockets. [color=ff4599] "Ready when you are." [/color]

Rita didn't respond, she would eventually fall asleep.

OoC: Woo I finished! ...And I should have been asleep a while ago x.x Goodnight.

Jessica nodded to Ness and placed her hands on the sides of Ness head as she usually did to form her mental link with Ness. She quickly reformed the link with Ness, then leaned slightly more forward and gave her a kiss. She'd stay outside with Ness for however long she did and would re-enter the room with her when she did.

Ness blinked a bit in surprise as Jess suddenly kissed her and blushed a bit before the duo walked back into the room and fell asleep, still cuddled up to each other.

Once Rita woke up she quickly exited the hotel and headed out of the city.

Ness slowly woke up and sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes. It didn't take her long to notice that Rita had ran off. She quickly activated her voice modulator and continually prodded Jess. [color=ff4599] "Jess! Jess! Get up, Ms. Rita ran off!" [/color]

Jessica groaned for a solid minute as Ness tried to wake her up. Her eyes fluttered open slowly and she turned over and looked up at Ness. [small]"...Huh?[/small]...You sure she ran off?...Maybe she just went for a walk or something?" She groggily replied. "Just use that choker thing of yours to contact her and ask where she went..."

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie woke up as Ness shouted. He grunted in annoyance as he place Tophat in his rucksack and headed to find Rita.
(To Jessica, Ness & the Rookie: Whu? What's going on?)

[color=ff4599] "With the way she was all gloomy, I'm more worried she's trying to run than take a walk..." [/color] Ness sighed a bit before calming herself down a bit. [color=ff4599] "...Maybe I'm just overreacting... [small] as usual... [/small]" [/color]

Tapping her choker, she tried to contact Rita mentally. "Ms. Rita, are you there?"

Rita was heading west. Hearing Ness she replied What do you want?

The Rookie got out on the street and followed after Rita.
(To Ness, Jess & the Rookie: Well we can't let her disappear, not until we know all there is to know from her. [sub]Quite frankly I'd like to do a full psychatric session with her, but that is really not important in comparison.[/sub])

"Where's she even going to run to? I'm sure you're just overreacting." Jessica replied to Ness. Since she was now awake, she figured she might as well get ready for the day. She climbed out of bed and started getting dressed, leaving off her contacts and eye-patch for the time being. She thought back at Tophat to inform him of the situation, "Vanessa's trying to figure out where she went right now."

"Just to ask if you're going to come back sometime soon. You worried me a little bit by leaving so suddenly."
