"Yeah, as I said, the core of the reactor is a special type of quartz mined from the Quarry at Granite Pass." The mechanic replied.

[hr]

"Oh, is that what you're trying to do? Isn't that in Xiphatian territory?" Lucia seemed to grow rather bored with the conversation, now.
"Yes, 20 years ago the war started. The artifact was donated as part of an attempt to foster good will between the nations. This one is more technological in nature anyway, so it makes sense for us to research it, right? The Xiphatians would probably use it as a paperweight of some sort."

[hr]

"Yes, sir, one sandwich. And I am just a waitress here. The owner is in the back, sir." She said as she procured a sandwich and placed it, on the counter for Loki.

"I did. Nice job on running, I could barely find you." Lyra said, walking on to the beach. "didn't tell me it was EM in nature. Quite tough too. Mighty impressive."

OOC: I'm back! Might as well see if I can do something tonight.

Jessica woke up, dragged herself out of bed, and then began to think. Okay...no getting distracted by wild-folk this time. Gotta find something to do for money around here. No way I can do what I have to without that. She went down to the lobby of the hotel and approached the front desk, sneezing once as she did.

"I see. Could you tell him someone is wishing to see him to discuss some matters?" Loki asked as he took the sandwich and took a small bite, moving it around in his mouth a bit before shallowing.

Savranth sat on the beach. "I told you nothing could leave or enter. Did you think I was making that up?"

[hr]

"Yes? How can I help you miss?" The receptionist asked Jessica.

Damn, I assumed it was neutral territory.
"The altar hasn't been traced to either faction." He made another beat/pause. "Well, I can tell that we're both tired. But my final thoughts are that, one of my colleagues said that there was a myth about an ancient civilization that split up into the two factions. If this artifact out of many truly symbolizes the unity between the two cultures, as tried in the past war, then perhaps it is part of that civilization. I understand the risk involved in going to that territory, but it may be one way of seeing another reaction out of that artifact." Another beat and muttered "It could be the key to actual peace." He stood up and bowed. "Thank you very much for your time. Good night."

"But, of course, sir." The girl said, leaving to find the manager.

After a few minutes, she returns with him.
"Okay, what is going on? She wouldn't say other than you wanted to discuss business."

[hr]

"A free engine? Well, there's one guy who ain't come to pick up his car, yet. I suppose I can let ya take a look at it, but you can't take it apart. Okay?" The mechanic said to Rita.

[hr]

"A myth? What myth are you talking about?" Lucia asked, honestly barely interested.

After Jessica had finished cleaning her nose, this time using some tissues she had found in her room, she asked the receptionist, "Yes you can. Can you tell me where I can get today's newspaper?" Please let these people still use newspapers. She silently prayed, hoping to avoid looking overtly ignorant.

"That I do. I wish to place an investment in this establishment." Loki replied. "Can we go to your office to discuss matters in private?" he asked the manager, then took another bite.

"There was mention of a religion that believed that there was once a civilization that split into the two factions today. That was at least 5,000 years ago. Interpret it as you will. Good night Dr. Lucia. I wish you luck in your studies." He made a tired smile.

"no, I didn't. Its why I ordered use of the drop pod they came down in, in place of our usual arrangement for arrival." Lyra explained, handing over a few wires from her pocket to Marcus. "might want to get her talking again. We'll need her." Marcus nodded and unbuckled a small choker on Xyleena's throat. He went to work repairing it, whistling notes. "now then, did anybody see you all for the crash? Might be able to just waltz back into town."

"Not that I am aware of." Savranth replied.

[hr]

"You want the day's paper? You can find the news in the lobby over there." The receptionist explained.

If Jessica followed the receptionist directions, she would find a tablet like device that she could read the days news on.

[hr]

The mechanic leads Rita to a small personal vehicle. He opened the hood to let her see the engine. It was not dissimilar to a combustion engine, though it channeled energy more directly and didn't require a coolant system. The core of the device was a rather large piece of equipment.

[hr]

"I see. Well, good luck, I suppose Dilweed. May you find whatever it is you're looking for." Lucia said, as she got back up, picking up her computer to walk back to her work.

[hr]

"Fine. Follow me." The manager would lead Loki back to his office, a small rather cramped space in the back of the store.
"Now, what do you want?"

OOC: @Saltyk. Wow, what an ass. XD I was expecting a person who wanted to drag Dal'Sheed into her experiments, a'la Kokoknoe style.

Dilweed? What's...? Oh. Gah, nevermind. It's late and I'm tired anyway.

He exited the building and the town in general. He set up a campsite just outside the car with some of the stuff he had in his inventory. He made a few final notes before falling asleep.

"Want me to turn it on?" The mechanic asked Rita.

OoC: @Slenn: I added her to the Codex. She only cares about studying energy. She saw no way Dal'Sheen could do that at the moment. So, all in all, he was useless to her. You want that, though, keep looking around.

"good. Tomorrow, we can head back in and see if we're recognized. Until then lets bed down. Xyleena, you mind taking sentry duty?" the xenomorph nodded again, and disappeared into the night, one black form among many. "okay then. Marcus, you got the voice speaker well under way? Need a towel to keep sand out of it?""not really. This is an easy job."

"It is as I said." Loki began as he took another bite out of the sandwich and walked into a position where he could be seen through the window in the office. "Having "sampled" the ware sold in this establishment, I came to the conclusion that this place is good to invest in." he continued, creating a projection and turning undetectable at the same time once more. Walking up to the manager, Loki lightly pressed the cane against his chest. "The investment being enlightenment." Warping back to his original position, Loki dispelled the magics at work. "Are you not grateful for this gift?"
