I have made attempts to use the scepter as the key to open up a portal to this place, but it would seem something about this place is interfering with the process, for each attempt was met with failure." Loki answered, while lying, keeping up a straight face. "Perhaps if the gem in the scepter was to recieve a... boost of sorts, this interference could posibly be bypassed. As for what the exact location of the Tessaract is, that is hard to say, as I know not the name of the place. But, I can show you, if you so desire."

Envy would find that the area between the barracks and the mech storage was shadowy, and largely overlooked by the patrolling soldiers.

Some time passed until one of the soldier who happened to pass through the hallway noticed the two bodies. Reporting it in, an alarm went off, the entire compound now on high alert.

OoC @Furioso: Makes sense. Otherwise, his clothing wouldn't morph with him.

"It's pretty obvious that the person I am talking about sees people as nothing but things to be toyed with for the sake of science." Savranth replies.

"You want to see my stock? I'm afraid there's a consulting fee." Marco said. "You don't don't look like the type for this sort of thing."

"Spare me the science fiction. I want to know if you know it's location or not." Lucia replied.

 

[Furioso]

Envy moved back into the area as far as he could, and waited until the coast was relatively clear in the small window of sight he had to the outside of his hiding place. Once he had a chance he turned one of his arms into a spike to pierce the floor of the area. The material the ground was made of was largely irrelevant due to the strength and sharpness of the spike. Once pierced, he threaded a tentacle arm into the hole, expanding it once it was out of sight to be roughly human sized as it pushed through the dirt, making a tunnel. He concealed his actions by leaning against a wall, using his body to shield the thin tentacle that came before the human sized portion of that.

Rex shrugs. "And there are knights who take advantage of the princesses they save. How much is the consultation?"

Ness sighs a bit as it hits her. Yes... quite a long walk indeed. " I see, Savranth... "

Kyosuke simply chuckled at Savranth's game. Turning to Ness, he said. "So what are you really thinking getting that assistant position here? Just for research or for something to bring back home and reverse engineer?"

"That's right. Howard Soto. Or so they say. Supposedly, he sees everyone that passes his way as a specimen. Even his assistants." Savranth stated.

"How much do you got?" Marco said with a grin.

 

[Drakmorg]

Jessica just so happened to bump into Felina as she was on her way to her destination. "Good news! I think I've got another lead. Follow me." She hurriedly said to Felina, then continued on her way.

Envy's actions for a time went unnoticed until one of the soldiers patrolling the wall looked down on him. "Hey, you. What're you doing down there? We need you down here, there's a security breach, in case you hadn't noticed!" he called out.

Ness shudders a bit as she hears Savranth. ...Clever. "...Well, that does explain quite a bit. To think I was to stay at that Port, I may have ended up being a test subject... Maybe it wouldn't be so bad... [small] Probably not though... [/small]"

Turning to Kyosuke, she gives a bit of a sheepish smile. "Mostly for research, but yes, I would've liked to find some tech and genetic modifications similar to ones in my world. It would make it easier to counteract them."

Rex flips out his card. "Last I checked... 236 credits. Had 500, but... I've had people leeching off of me."

 

[Saltyk]

Felina hurriedly followed after Jessica. "Are you sure?"

The two would come to the same building that Rex had entered.

"And none of that is proof of anything. You offer me no proof of anything, except your word and something that would not be out of place in the armory. You're providing nothing substantial to go on." Lucia replied.

 

[Furioso]

Envy looked up at the guard as his arm reformed back to normal. "Of course I noticed! That's why they sent me to block this part off, it's my job to make sure no one tries to sneak down here! How bout you focus on your job, and I'll do mine."

"Sounds fair. Guessing that this world and your own have some things in common then."

The group of five eventually come to a cheap hotel and ask how much it would be for two rooms.

OOC: Eh, I'm off. Tired and late.

"I can't say I know all the details, but some things have made their way... Supposedly, a lot of people die in his lab." Savranth said.

 

[Chungus]

"I said I could show you the location of the Tessaract if you desired, yet you choose to ignore it. That is no fault of mine. But, if you wish to see an action that validates my claims..." Loki answered, then turned to the receptionist. "I would hate to ask this of you, but are you perhaps willing to cooperate in this? I assure you, no harm will befall you."

The soldier hmm'd. "Fine, fine." With that, we returned to his post.

 

[Drakmorg]

"No, can't be sure. But unless you've got any better ideas, I'm checking this one out." Jessica answered Felina. Finding the building, Jessica stopped right outside the door. "Alright, so here's what I've got. Apparently a van heading into this city last night got hung up on the road with a flat, and it's registered to some guy called Marco Crux at this address. How're we going to handle this?" She said to Felina.

Ness nods a bit toward Kyosuke. "In a sense, yes. Magic, technology, ruins, mad scientists, animal/human hybrids... Our worlds have a bit in common. It's not much in hindsight, but enough to make me wonder about how the rules and physics of this world compare to mine... especially the rules of genetics..."

She looks over at Sav and nods slightly. "It's lucky of me to have not been an assistant for him then. The question "Are you willing to donate your body to science?" should've rang a warning bell to me.."

Rex tilts his head at Marco. "You alive...?"

 

[Furioso]

With the distraction gone, Envy finished his work enough so that he could get into the hole and make a reliable head start before having to continue again. He dug to the east, collapsing the hole behind him as he went.

 

[Saltyk]

"Yeah, that sounds about like what you would expect..." Savranth answered.

"How are we going to handle this? Well... We can just walk right on in!" Felina said reaching for the door handle.

"Well, boy why don't you hand me that card, so I can verify it." Marco asked Rex.

[hr]

"You offer nothing but words. It takes more than that to be considered proof." Lucia retorted.

"And just what are you suggesting?" The receptionist asked.

Rex raises an eyebrow. "...Alright." He slowly hands the card to Marco.

Ness shrugs a bit. "I'd ask that question of my assistants as well. But not to use them as specimen, just to make sure they were serious about pursuing science."

 

[Chungus]

"I will need you to close your eyes, then, I will press the scepter lightly against your chest. Since the scepter is aligned to the Tasseract, you will feel its pressence as it were, and perhaps, you will see it before you. Wherther you will see it or not cannot be said, as this seems to varry." Loki explained. "Should you feel the gentle pulse of the Tasseract, or see it, then I would say that will count as the proof that is expected." he added, largely directing this towards Lucia. "Surely this is acceptable?"
