Lyra tapped at her bracer once more and all 4 of the drones fired at the snakes eye, her aiming at the opposite eye with a laser shot similar to a predators plasma bolt.

"A Maintainer is a skilled Writer of Ages, who knows the ins and outs of The Art of Writing Ages. They could have picked anyone else, but I have a little bit more experience in examining Ages than the others in the Guild. Being addressed by Volarian, Sasha did a small bow while holding the bit of her cloak that connected around the front with one hand. "I'm so sorry I overslept I..." She paused for seconds. "Did you say leave?"

While the four drones' combined fire pierced the eyeball of the serpent, blinding it there, Lyra's own laser shot, missed its mark, striking just above the eye, rather then the eye itself. Since Lyra made no attempt to get out of the way of the serpent's charge, it managed to ram her with its large skull.

Savranth stood up and approached Sable. "By the way, who are you? I haven't really met any of the others, but I don't think we have even talked."
Paprika shook her head, adjusting her bonnet. "No, sir, I do not. My daughter went there to study, but I don't know the password."

"It seems that wherever I go there is some sort of war or another. A war between magic and technology, a war between good and evil, a war of survival for those who have already died, a war over power, but I digress. So when one of your Writers creates a piece of literature, a world is created with that exact same history? Or is the Writer imbued with the knowledge of the world, and just transfers it to a book?"
Jessica stepped out of a reality tear at the same base as previously once again.

She was surprised to find the base was now a hub of activity. Well, this place is a lot busier than before. She thought as she got out of the way of all the people moving about as best as she could. Should I try and head South-West now, or... Her thoughts were interrupted as she noticed Sasha, whose attire she felt looked familiar. Wasn't she at that alter with all the other displaced people? Did they all leave her behind? Or maybe she chose to stay here on her own? Feeling curious about Sasha's situation, she strolled over to where she and Volarian were conversing.

Reaching the area where Lyra and the serpent were fighting, Rita took a ready stance. "Lets hope this works..." A multi-ringed, purple colored, circular pattern of runes appeared on the ground below her. "Smile, o wavering darkness... Spread Zero!" Once she finished the incantation a shadowy lance appeared, hovering in the air for a moment before flying foward towards the serpents neck. "...That...wasn't spread zero..."

"The Writer only knows what he or she wants to describe the world as. Any subsequent events that happen, happen on their own from the description. However, the D'ni do have a word for 'conflict', and that can be a property of a civilization that's put into an Age." He took a drink of water from the table.
OOC: @Sable. I'm not quite sure about this piece of information. In Myst, Atrus writes Ages and visits the inhabitants of the worlds without any prior knowledge of their specific history. However the writer can describe if there are any inhabitants and how many there are and where they're located.

I have the linking book to D'ni in my pouch to travel back when necessary, so I can show you that. But, I don't think you'll be able to read the text if that's okay. I can certainly try and teach you though." He squinted his eyes and looked up. "Although the Guild may shun me if they knew I would teach an outsider."

'They left without me...' She thought to herself, she would have been hurt if it wasn't for the fact that she'd never really had a conversation with any of them. "You wouldn't know where they went? Or even the reason they left?" She asked, trying to understand the situation.
