EMily looked puzzled.
"I don't understand. You don't remember if you've researched this from the book?"

Timea would see no obvious caves in the mountains from her current position. As she looked at the ground, she would see no farmland outside Palladein; only desert stretching off into the distance. She might, however, spot barges going up and down the river.

"Those names are from the book, but they don't mean anything to me. I don't have any memories of those places. And the magic... like I said, it's either natural instinct or muscle memory from intense training."

You chuckle, then tell Jane; "Alright then! We will start simple, with how to stand." You motion for her to position herself beside you, then enter the same basic stance that you did before. You stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and your knees are slightly bent. Though the stance is relaxed as both the sword-arm and off-arm are hanging loosely, you explain that this is a very good defensive guard, as you can rest yet be ready to parry.

OoC: Sorry for the late reply, I got caught up trying to find a good picture. I couldn't find one.

"Well, do you think you could look through the book and see if it says anything about how one gains the ability to do magic? Maybe something will come to mind."

"It's still weird to see everyone looking like that, but I guess it's okay. Your legs are weird." Hillary stated, pulling herself a bit more into the pouch, curling up a bit more in it. While in the pouch, she lifted a hand up to look at it. "And me changing all the time is really weird too..." She said, sounding a little sad. "You think I'll ever be back to normal?" She asked

"Ah don't really wanna go back home though." Sibylla replied to Timea. "There's nuthin' fer me back there."

Spotting Jane and Shara practicing with swords, Cybil walked over a bit closer to watch.

"Of course I never fought many humans, I was protecting them. But not once did I see a human successfully resist anything the Homeworld gems tried. You, however, just might have been able to take down a scout, if you somehow cornered them alone."

Not seeing any cavesn Timea spread out her wings to go into a glide, and began banking and descending towards the river. "Right. We won't be looking for a cave today. I still need to go back to the island to get us a meal for the evening, and it'll be too far into the night once I get back if we spend more time looking. For today, we'll sleep by the river, close enough to the city that dangerous animals wouldn't come, and far enough away to stay away from prying eyes", she announced as she descended.

"Back to your original slime form, on this world? I don't know, I really don't", Timea answered Hillary. "But I'm sure things will go back to normal for you once you get back home."

Hearing Sibylla, Timea, said, "Well, that's all the more reason for you to learn some survival skills", then, sounding more puzzled, added, "Why exactly don't you want to go back, though? If you don't mind me asking."|

Speedy, still on Cybils Head, also watched the sword training.

"What do you do against incoming shooty stuff?" he asked Jane and Shara.

The bartender examined the woman's coins, then told her it was enough as he poured her next glass of vodka.

As the sun continued to set in the southeast, the mercenary ship pulled in to dock in Palladein. The harbour was fairly busy, with merchant ships being loaded and unloaded around the group. While most of the sailors were Kaisiri, the people on the docks generally were not. Their skin was a much lighter shade of brown, or in some cases a reddish brown, with similarly-coloured hair and irises.

Before the ship arrives in port...
"Be more relaxed, or you'll wear yourself out needlessly. Now, for the more offensive guards:" - You say as you raise your sword arm until the upper arm is horizontal, and your lower arm at an angle upwards with the sword pointed forward. You also raise your left arm so it is held out diagonally in front of you. "From here, you can both attack and defend, though it is more tiring than the defensive guard." - You say, before glancing over at Speedy and replying; "You duck. Or you grab a shield to hide behind."

You proceed to show how to attack from six different angles, diagonally downwards, upwards and horizontally from both sides. After that, you give some basic training in footwork and blocking, giving Jane the tip that it is almost always better to step away from a blow than to parry it. You are about to go into a few other guards when the ship pulls into port and you are forced to halt the training. You tell Jane that this was only a crash-course, and that she should repeat the different movements many times before going into a real fight.

The woman finished the second glass much slower. Meanwhile she listened to her surroundings, to find out what the current gossip was about. She proceeded to ask for a third drink, her words already beginning to slur.

The woman would hear a few merchants discussing the recent increase in piracy, and some discussion about whether or not Calibeth would be going to war soon. The bartender would pour her a third drink.
Robin would see that this port was much larger than the one the group had left, with the city behind it equally large. Towering over the other buildings was a large sandstone spire, in the shape of a straight sword blade. The upper third of the structure seemed to be glowing with a dull orange light, though this light faded gradually as the sun set.

"Like ah said, ain't nuthin' fer me back there." Sibylla repeated. "Things were real crazy when ah left, so ah ain't rightly eager ta go back."
Cybil looked over the town as the boat came to dock, spending more time paying attention to the obelisk than anything else.
