She put her hand to hand to her chin as she heard what the men had to say, definitely putting some thought into this.

EMily gently retrieved the coin and put it in her satchel. If I can find details on the history of their sailing, I might be able to figure out what's standard, technologically speaking.
"Thank you. I think I should be able to do this. I've been able to scout out an inn in this town. But do either of you know where a library might be? I'll need to research the history of sailing vessels."

"Yeah we're new. You guys really like flaming swords huh?" Jane asked as she looked at the one on the altar.

"Most docks have a sailing library, which takes in records and notes from the ships. Looking there would be your best bet." one of the merchants replied.

The man nodded. "The flaming sword is the symbol of the god Calibeth. And it helps to have a large light in the centre of your cities, for navigation purposes." he replied.

"How do you keep em on fire?" Jane asked. Homer wandered over, also wondering about that.

Aquamarine and Topaz followed Robin into the building, Aqua looking around cautiously while Topaz looked around excitedly.

"It's Calibeth that keeps the fires burning. Though, it does require some sacrifice on my part." the man replied, indicating his bandaged forearm. Some parts of the white bandages had been stained red with blood.

"That sucks." Jane said, grimacing.

 

[Slenn]

She curtseyed.
"Thank you gentlemen. I will establish myself some living grounds at once before going to the library." And she set off to find the inn once again.

"Are you alright?" Robin asked the priest.

The priest looked at Robin, and nodded. "It barely even hurts any more, in all honesty." he said. "And the wound will be healed in a few hours."

It wouldn't take long for EMily to find her way back to the inn, which was still just as busy as the last time she had visited.

"How long have you been doing this?" Robin asked.

"A few hours? That's pretty fast." Jane commented.

"Around 20 years." the priest replied, before looking at Jane. "That's thanks to the goddess Avinah."

"You must have bled a lot..." Robin said, a little stunned.

The priest shrugged. "Over the past two decades, yes. But it's not that much blood each night, so it doesn't feel like a lot." he said.

"Man, every night? No way I'd do something like that." Jane said.

EMily walked herself up to the innkeeper at the bar. She hailed him by waving and speaking with happiness.

"Hello again. Do you have any information on room availability in this establishment?"

"That is still a lot of blood." Robin mused. "You said a goddess was giving you protection?"

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"I was nervous at first, but it really isn't that bad." the priest said to Jane. He then looked back at Robin and shook his head. "Avinah is the goddess of, among other things, medicine. Her blessing helps tend to our wounds and illnesses."

The innkeeper told EMily that there were still a few rooms available, for a couple of silvers each.

"Is the two silver for just one night?"
