The cat would find that the flora around the village was mostly grass, with a few small flowers dotted around. Most had blue and purple petals, and would resemble roses. The scents of the flowers, if the cat could pick up on such things, would be less familiar. There would be little in the way of trees or crops in the vicinity.
Homer would see much the same as the cat had; limestone and lumber houses. He would be unable to find an inn, but may locate a very comfy patch of grass near the road.
