Anik would find that the guards had normal Calibethan hearts, that were similar to those of the guards she had spoken with before. However, Califorth's heart would feel more powerful than other Calibethans. She would also find that he was very patient and charitable, though she may pick up on a slight amount of deceptiveness.

The blacksmith looked at the gold bar, then back at Robin. "Hmm... maybe 30 gold coins?"

At Califorth's words, Timea half wondered if it would be wise to play along, and take on the mantle of divine. It didn't take long for her to come to the conclusion this was probably not a good idea, since it was easily proven false if she was asked to work miracles.

"Either way, the fact that she--" Timea began to reply, pointing in Anik's general direction as she was brought forth by the guards, without turning around. "--is someone you should be suspicious of. From a conversation with her, I've gleaned that she wants to correct her perceived "injustices", ready to - and I quote - "ruin lives, if necessary". And lo and behold, here she is, slandering myself", Timea stated, then paused. "And unlike hers, people can confirm my story."

[color=9f2089]"Heckuvan emergency you must have been planning for."[/color] Cybil muttered to herself as Robin started speaking to the merchant.

"Thanks." Robin told the smith, then looked back to Cybil. "I guess so. It'll come in handy at least. You want any specific kind of sword?" He looked over the swords, seeing what was available.

 

[Silence]

Anik listened closely to the conversation, thinking "Seriously? I expected more than deflection." She would, however, not speak until she was asked to do so.

Topaz noticed Yeager staring and walked over to him. Aquamarine is with the others, so unless Yeager has super X-Ray vision he can't see her. [color=FFCC33]"Hey, whadda ya lookin' at?"[/color]

Yeager snapped out of it. "Ah, pardon my staring, but... what exactly are you? I haven't ever seen anything that looks like you before."

"Oh? What a shame. Well if you're so boring and mundane I don't suppose you'd be willing to part with that gem on your wrist? I'm sure something so ordinary wouldn't cost that much." replied Yeager, not sounding very serious.

[color=9f2089]"Ehm, not really. None of these swords are the same kind as the ones I've trained with, so I suppose each is just as good as the other."[/color] Cybil answered as she glanced over the selection.

"Hmm..." Robin put a hand to his chin in thought, then examined Cybil.

Yeager chuckled "You'd better be careful around here, speaking of which, I doubt you're even from here. Did you come from one of the other nations? Or perhaps... somewhere else?" he asked.

Robin would find Cybil appeared to have skill with slashing weapons used with one or both hands.

Robin and Cybil would see that most of the swords were longswords, though there were a few curved kilij-like blades.

"Why do you think she would say these things about you?" Califorth asked, as the guards brought Anik closer.

"Well, we had an argument last night. And I'd guess it's to fix suspicion on me, so she can do whatever it is she plans on doing. Which, I would guess is assassination", Timea answered in a matter-of-factly tone, then shrugged slightly. As she spoke, Timea glanced to Anik, her golden eyes moving over the woman, reading her face and body language. "These are only that, though - guesses", she added.

You chuckle again and say that clearly, Heno is the man to follow on this. In the meantime, you add, you'll take Homer and anyone else who's worn out from rowing to the tavern for some rest, and to find out more about the road to the forest.

"Just getting a read on you." Robin said, then looked to the blades. "Perhaps one of those curved swords? You're good at slashing swordsmanship, and that would fit."

Shara would learn that there was no road leading directly to the forest; as the Fennwynd had no roads at all. However, there were roads leading to the edge of the Fennwynd, at the eastern edge of the city. The road went through the desert, though nobody in the inn was sure of the distance.
