Topaz approached Jane and Homer. "Hey, whatcha doin'?"

Robin's gesture was more than likely lost on Sibylla, as she made no reaction to it. "Ah don't understand tha queschin'. Whut's a 'hue-man'?" Came her reply to Matilda. "Nice to meet ya'll too though."

Hearing the ruckus Jane and Homer were making, Sibylla pondered aloud, "Whut's that, uh... Gal? Boy? Girboy? Girboy sounds right, on about?"

She quickly lost all confusion, having it replaced with fright as Topaz gave his warning then walked off. "W-Wait! Whut wuz that just now 'bout killin'?"

"Making sandbags." Jane replied without looking away from her work.

"You'll figure it out soon enough!" Topaz shouted back at Sibylla.

"Why?" Topaz asked Jane.

"Don't mind him, don't mind him." Robin said quickly, trying to calm Sibylla. "It's a long story."

"So we can fortify the foxhole." Jane said, not bothering to be more clear.

"Whaddya mean long story?! There's someone jus' goin' 'round killin' folks and ya'll'r jus' bein' calm 'bout it?!" Sibylla shouted in reply to Robin, panicking even further.

"A little bit." Jane said with a smirk.

Topaz tilted his head to the side. "You are very strange."

"Tch. Says the...whatever you are." Jane replied with her snark very evident.

"Actually I was trying to keep you calm." Robin said, now freaking out a little himself. "One of our compatriots doesn't like non-humans. Don't worry, we can explain the situation to her, talk her down. You'll be safe."

"I'm a Gem. Much easier to understand than you humans."

 

[Drakmorg]

"Are ya'll sure?... M-Maybe ah should jus' try'an get goin' b'fore any trouble starts..." Sibylla replied to Robin, her tone growing quieter as she spoke.

"Yeah sure." Jane said dismissively. Once the bags were filled and stacked, Jane again looked around the area. For seemingly the first time, she noticed the flowers, and picked one to inspect it.

"I'm not sure. We all arrived here from different places, so we should probably stick together for answers. And you're not the only nonhuman here."

The Next Morning​

The rest of the night would pass, hopefully, uneventfully. The moon and stars above would slowly move north, before going below the horizon, as the sun rose from the south-east. The brighter light of the sun would make seeing the surrounding area much easier for most of the group, with obvious exceptions.
A short way out of the village to the north, the land began declining gradually into the distance. To the west, however, the land rose up to a round hilltop. There would still be little sign of trees in the vicinity.
