"Nope, I'm still the stone I think?" Hillary said, raising her hand up to her face. "Yep. Kinda weird, I thought it would have been eaten by now." She wondered out loud.

"It tickles kinda. Is that supposed to happen?" She asked Anik as she looked herself over while the coat was still on.

Meltha - Day 3 : 13:15

"Around here, it's mostly hills and valleys. But near Femesh Daer, it's much more mountainous, with more trees. Snow and ice in particular can be a problem, too."

 

[Silence]

Anik wondered herself, then said: "So it seems like you can actually wear clothing without changing. And yes, it can tickle sometimes, especially if you are not used to it. Is it unpleasant?
And how do you think you look with it on? Maybe there is a more beautiful one I could not find."

Robin nodded to the Doctor, and turned the cart, heading east.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Well normally if I eat something, I can't change into something else unless there's a lot of something else to change into." Hillary told Anik. "Like the time Timea helped me get rid of the liver, and she had to bury me up to the neck in sand before I changed into sand." She said as she rolled her shoulders.

"It's kinda pulling on my arms, but it doesn't hurt. I kinda look like you actually!" Hillary giggled. "I wish I could see what colour this was..." She said as she brought her hands down to the front brim of the coat and pulling it forwards to look at it better.

 

[Silence]

"All right, let's hope it stays this way, kind of." Anik said and smiled. "We could ask the shopkeeper what kind of colour it is. And we still need to find scarfs. Say, do you want to keep this, or some other coat?"

 

[Slenn]

"Monsters?" She tilted her head as she stared up into the sky in thought. "Not really. Well.... except for a few things. But they aren't large beasts or anything. There aren't any mythical magical creatures known. But there are things out there referred to as ghosts and wraiths. Such spectres are found in a facility dubbed 'The Underworld.'"

"As for science. We're having a hay day pretty much. We have space colonies with a total of a million people spread across the solar system in places like Mars and Ganymede around Jupiter. So there's lots of space travel. We have advanced neurotechnology, allowing us to treat mental illnesses and disorders of both criminals and the innocent. We have quantum supercomputers linked up to human intelligence creating what many people refer to as the first transhumans. They can read minds, cure mental illness, predict the weather within a few weeks, and monitor the health of thousands of people all at once. We have robots with intelligences on par with that of humans. They're rare, but they are quite amazing. They are even considered people in our society." She took a breath. "We have fusion reactors combined with solar and wind arrays for all our power. We have mind machine interfacing. Our catalog of diseases has expanded nearly 100 times since that of the 21st century. Our physics has come up with a way to unify the fundamental forces of nature, although its details can only be understood by a hive mind of at least 10 people thinking in unison." Another breath. "So yeah... it's a golden age pretty much."

 

[Silence]

Speedy had glittering eyes after EMily had told him about her science. "Your world is awesome!" he said. "I think my world would look the same, if humans would not have gone extinct and we had to pick up where they left.
But say, do you have explosions?"

 

[Zepherus14]

"But rocks aren't very shiny, I don't wanna say like this forever Anik, that's no fun." Hillary protested. "I guess we could ask, but... I don't really know if I want this Anik." Hillary admitted. "I haven't felt the cold at all, or even Timea's super hot blanket. We could try some other ones if you want, but this doesn't really seem like something I'd wanna carry around all the time."

"Do you want me to help you find that scarf though?" She asked, sounding a bit depressed as she could tell Anik really liked these coats, but the difference for Hillary was just too great for her to get enjoy without the coat having some bright colour or shininess to get her attention. She was frankly looking at different things in these coats than Anik was looking at.

 

[Silence]

Anik was kind of disappointed that they could not play double hood girls or something, but still smiled and said: "It's alright, Hillary. Then we just put it back, and look for some scarfs for me. I would really like some white ones, so I'm like completely white. I think that would get funny reactions from people. And yes, I need your help for that, I can't distinguish black from white, even if I find the scarfs.
Oh, and I just realized I probably need some gloves too. Also white!"
She whistled again, and started in some direction feeling the various clothes to find the scarfs, letting Hillary go after her and find them.

 

[Slenn]

She blushed, and delivered a modest "Thank you" in a lowered voice.
"Well, humans are multidimensional creatures. There's no telling what they might do next. I wonder how human to hamster relations would go if they were still around."

"Well, of course we have explosions. Most of them are going to be found in weapons, though. The military owns almost every rocket launcher, homing missile, and pulse rifle. We have three story tall floating robots in our military called Gauss Robots. Those things deal large scale EMPs. There's still controversial weapons out there that are still being debated on like antimatter guns and nuclear warheads." She sighed.

"I'm not much for huge explosions except for those in fireworks, so those are always fun." She smiled when she was thinking of fireworks.

Meltha - Day 3 : 13:16​

At the mention of the word "mountainous", Timea's train of thoughts briefly went to wondering how Heno was doing. She didn't trail off, however, responding to the man with a nod. "I see. Well, that's all the questions I have. Thanks for your time, and have a nice day."

After saying this, Timea walked off, to the city gate, and waited there.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Maybe we could find something else like one of these we could both have? That could work." She said, dangling the ocean charm she had tied to her wrist. "More white stuff?" Hillary asked, looking around at the store selections. "I can do that, no problem!" Hillary announced confidently, then marched on to go look for some white clothing add-ons for Anik to wear.

"So Anik, do you know what snow is? Timea said it before but I didn't know what it was?" Hillary asked as she searched.

 

[Silence]

"I agree! We really should have some fireworks here." Speedy dreamed off as well.

Anik randomly found some gloves while searching. She did hear the ocean charm, but did not know what it was, still assuming it was some kind of trinket. She answered Hillary: "Maybe you just want a scarf? ... Yes, I know snow. It can be very soft, fluffy stuff, but it is really cold. But it can also be very hard. And if it gets warmer, it changes into water. I was also told that it is white. ... Maybe it is best you see it for yourself some time, I'm sure there is some of it in the north."
She held up some brown gloves, and asked: "Are these white?" She did, however, also turn to the side from where they lay, so Hillary could look onto the pile of gloves and see if there were any white ones.

 

[Zepherus14]

"It changes to water!? Weird!" Hillary said quite surprised, not expecting such a thing to happen. "But... those aren't white, definitely not white." Hillary said as she took the gloves and standing on her tippy toes, started pawing at the pile of gloves. After a minute or so, Hillary handed a new pair to Anik. "How about these ones? These ones are white." She explained.

 

[Slenn]

"I liked to study some of the chemistry that makes the different colors." She smiled nostalgically. "Pretty dang fascinating. My favorites are the fountains followed by the palm tree mortars."

 

[Silence]

Anik waited patiently for Hillary to pick new gloves, then tried them on, and flexed her hands. "This has to look fancy. How do you like my look, Hillary?" she said, hoping it would get another reaction.
Then she said: "All right, now we just need a pile of scarfs. Mostly white ones. You better take the lead, I should not try to find colors myself."

"I don't know what these are, but they all sound awesome! We mostly just shoot big rockets in the air and let them explode!" Speedy said, not quite the romantic.

 

[Zepherus14]

"You look... like a lot of snow!" Hillary replied after some consideration. Hillary would take one of Anik's hands to get a better look at the gloved hand before concluding. "They fit pretty good don't they?" She mused.

"Let's go then!" Hillary said, marching off again to try and find a scarf. "Is that what you are talking about?" Hillary said once she spotted what looked like her interpretation of a scarf. If she was told she'd found them, she'd go and search for one before presenting it to Anik to try on.

 

[Slenn]

"Oh! Well, I suppose that works too." She chuckled. "But you can make different color explosions if you study chemistry. Magnesium gives you a bright white flash, copper makes a blue flame, and barium compounds make green."

 

[Silence]

Meltha - Day 3 - 13:30

"They do, indeed. It will be a fine costume." Anik said. When she was told Hillary had found something, she clicked again and went over to Hillary. She felt the clothing near her, and sure enough, they were scarfs.
"You found them! Well done!"

Anik pulled down the hood and put on the scarf normally, then said: "Look, that's how you wear them. Now, search for ... five white ones, all right? Then I can finally pay. I think Timea is already waiting at the gate. I will show you the complete disguise later. I still have to change all my clothes, but I will do that at the crossroads, or somewhere where no people are watching." With that, she went to the shopkeeper, already preparing what she intended to buy (only the white coat, gloves, and the scarfs) and waited for Hillary to bring her the rest.
Then she paid up, waited for Hillary to go with her, and went towards the unique heart of Timea, to the city gates, using her cane regularily again.

"That sounds cool! I should try that sometime!" Speedy said, wondering where in this world he should get this stuff.
