"Maybe you'll be able learn to differentiate animals by scent, eventually", Timea suggested, although sounded uncertainly, not sure how Anik's sense of smell compared to her own. She began following the tracks she saw, carefully avoiding the traps.

"For now, you'll have to estimate what the creature in question is, based on their elevation. For instance, I can smell several creatures nearby.", she continued, referring to the birds, but not stating such, wanting to see if Anik to come to the conclusion on her own. "Can you sense these? And if so, what do you think they are?"

When Sibylla slithered over, Timea looked towards her, saying, "Stop, Sibylla. Before you move on, lower yourself closer to the ground; Do you see anything out of the ordinary?"

Robin thanked Cybil for the guidance, shrugging off his heavy coat and performing some muscle building exercises. Though he wasn't a professional athlete, he did well.

 

[Silence]

"Elevation? Well, I can sense some birds in the air ... probably birds. And other creatures on the ground." Anik said, not sure what Timea was speaking of. She started to sniff the air, trying to smell what Timea smelled, but this sense being by far the weakest of hers (aside from the sight), even though it was better than in an ordinary human, only led her to smell the forest, without being able to differentiate much. "I need to learn these smells." she stated.

Femesh Daer Area - Day 4 - 7:46​

"You're right, that are birds", Timea confirmed. "But, yes. Elevation. If you sense a heart that's closely to the ground, it could be a hare. A bit higher up, and it could be a wolf, even higher, and it could be a horse. Just to name a few examples. Not every creature is the of the same height, of course, and learning the difference will probably take some time, but I think this will be a good help for you in telling what is what."

 

[Silence]

"... That's just a guessing game. And I can tell the size of a horse from that of a hare." Anik said, not convinced it would be useful in hunting different small animals. "Well, seems like I need to work with that. Hoping I do not accidentally attack a bird sitting on the ground, so it flies away and warns all other animals."

Speedy tried to lift a weight as well, which was unsuccessful, because he could not reach the handle.

Robin looked at the hamster. "I'm not sure that's wise..."

 

[Godzillarich(aka tf2godz)]

"Speedy, do you still have the cube you took from that guy in the stupid hat?" the doctor asked speedy as the little guy was at the weights.

 

[Silence]

"Needs more explosions." Speedy said to Robin, then turned to the Doctor: "EMily should have it! I gave it to her to inspect it!"

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"...you do know the purpose of these, right?" Robin asked Speedy.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Uhm, no? Still can't see anythin' at all." Sibylla answered Timea, sounding genuinely confused and not at all sarcastic.

[color=9f2089]"Good work. You're a lot more motivated than you look."[/color] Cybil gave Robin a thumb's up.

"Thank you!" Robin said to Cybil with a smile. "I know I'm not the strongest, so thanks for sticking with me and suggesting this." He told the catgirl and Solaire.

"It's going to be a guessing game, one way or the other, for now, I think. Like I said, this will not be easy, and it's as much a learning experience for me, as it is to you", Timea commented, momentarily stopping with walking. "Since you're human, we should also learn what plants you can eat, come to think of it. You're not meant for a diet of just meats... ." On saying this Timea wondered how to approach the subject, knowing nothing of what plants were edible.

Once Sibylla responded, Timea looked back to her. "There are traps on the ground, Sibylla", Timea informed her, stepping over, and crouching down besides a trap. "Like this one here. You can't sense these?"

 

[Slenn]

EMily, finishing up her practice with the bow, went over to the other crowd of people that were training.

She overheard her name being said and said:
"Someone call my name?"

 

[Silence]

"Well, it's winter. Not much else to eat unless someone got some vegetables in their cellar." Anik said, at least knowing human eating habits at this time of year. "I sense a lot of animals. So, do we start with trying to hunt some, or are there more important things I don't know or can't do?" she added, impatiently.

 

[Godzillarich(aka tf2godz)]

"Yes Miss. Blue, do you still have the cube from the guy in the Stupid hat?"

 

[Slenn]

"Yes I do. I can try and do various scans of it." She pulled it out from her satchel. "I'll start with a scan of its atomic structure." She led the Doctor to a place where they wouldn't obstruct traffic of people walking. She then materialized Photon and set the cube on the ground with the end of Photon's barrel. "Don't worry, it's not a gun."

A blue holographic screen lit up for EMily to show the computer's GUI. She pressed a few holographic buttons and away the computer went. It hummed with a cold reverberating ambience as it scanned.

What this scan will do:
Determine what it's made of.
If it can conduct electricity.
Calculate its density.

What this scan will *not* do:
Anything related to time and space.
Do your taxes.

The cube is made up of a very weird materials, The Doctor recognizes as the same material as the TARDIS Lending Creedence to the Hunter being a time traveler. when scans looked inside the device it saw it was the size of a football stadium inside. the device has no mind control system in them so the animals keep their free will. You can switch out which animal you want to be in the cube without any trouble., and these things have a similar energy source that was glowing from the doctors box when it exploded. it can also be used by anyone.

"The first thing to do is not be this impatient", Timea responded, picking up on the impatience in Anik's voice. She then began moving further, and added, "But other than that, nothing comes to mind. Let's get started, and see how it goes."

Timea looked to the tracks on the snow, and sniffed the air in the direction the lead to, picking up on the scent of a rabbit, eastwards. "I smell a land animal nearby. Let's see if you can track it down."

 

[Silence]

Anik sensed the rabbit, and lots of other animals, so she was not sure what Timea meant. Hearing her sniff, she assumed she should go into the direction it came from, and went this way, very slowly, holding the cane before her so she did not walk against something. When she came near, she closely listened to what it was doing, and stopped as soon as she heard something.

 

[Slenn]

When the nano scopes reported an error after scanning the material, she had found out that she was probing inside the cube. She switched scopes to a telescope to look inside and saw the stadium sized opening being shown on the holographic screen.

"So it's a device to capture creatures. If hunting is his profession that is. But the material the cube is made out of, that I've never seen it before. Have you seen it?"
