"Eh, ah'm used'ta it bah now." Sibylla shrugged to Timea and scratched the back of her neck, pulling off another small handful of grey scales as she did. "If'n ah had ta guess, it's prolly the same reason as all tha other things whut make me diff'rent frum normal folk." She added to answer Timea's question.

Solaire steeped away from Robin to talk to Cybil, hopefully without him hearing. "I don't know what else to do. He doesn't seem to grasp the techniques I show him, and he barely has the strength to carry his weapon." He told her, lowering his voice. "Perhaps you could try? Or a demonstration of us sparring might motivate him."

"So, also something ritualistic. Although I don't see how Kuku would benefit from having its own host turn to stone... " Timea mused, pausing, and letting out a "hmm". Afterwards, she asked, "You've talked to it, haven't you? I don't suppose you could just ask?"

Femesh Daer Area - Day 4 - 7:43​

"A distraction, no. Any noise produced would alarm a creature, one way or the other. When hunting herd animals, it can be useful to intentionally produce a sound, panicking the herd, and spreading them out, but that's something for another time" Timea answered after some thought. "In most cases, you'll want to simply avoid making noise when you notice your prey does, as it means they've been alerted. When they continue on, so can you.

You can only sneak up on something so much, though. You'll have to estimate when you're close enough to run up to them."

Robin overheard Solaire and Cybil, but didn't comment.

Anik frowned, as running would be quite difficult for her without knowing the landscape. "I understand." she said. "Any particular technique to kill them? Or just whatever is handy?"

Cybil scratched her chin and hummed to herself as she thought about what Solaire had said. [color=9f2089]"I dunno, if he's having a hard time even just holding and swinging the thing, we might have to just start with basic strength training."[/color]

In another world, somewhere...

In a dark room, a slender woman in a sleek black dress peered into a mirror, using it to scry into another world, one where many interesting people were gathering from all over. A blind woman, learning to hunt from a shapeshifter. A beastkin, and undead, and a boy with white hair training with swords. Two sisters in large dresses doing... well, she didn't care what they were doing, she just admired thier outfits.

"Lady Luminara's comeback tour starts tomorrow, and she stays up late looking into another world! I hope she won't be too tired to put on a good show..." A male voice said mockingly from behind her.

The woman smiled, not worried at all even though she thought she was alone. [color=FF0080]"Oh, darling, don't you worry about little old me. I always put on a good show. The people love me!"[/color] Luminara replied, not even bothering to look away from the mirror to look at who was speaking. [color=FF0080]"I was wondering when you'd come pay me a visit. Did you get lost, or did you just have trouble getting past all my other fans? Oh, you sweet little thing, it doesn't matter."[/color]

The man ignored the last part of what she said. "'Loved', you mean. Past tense. You're old news, everyone's forgotten about you."

Lady Luminara flickered briefly, like what someone might expect a hologram to do.

"Oh, does that make you angry? Go ahead, punish me for saying it."

[color=FF0080]"I know who you are and what you can do. I'm not stupid."[/color] Luminara replied, obviously trying to conceal her anger in her voice. She flickered again. [color=FF0080]"You found me. Now what do you want?"[/color]

"I see you're interested in that other world already. I could bring you there, if you like. Maybe you could have another five minutes of fame there, since your scene here is dead already. Just flash a red light during your show tomorrow, and I'll make it happen. I'll let you decide."

Luminara did not reply, but seemed turn slightly transparent for a few seconds, and she flickered a few more times before returning to normal. She continued looking into the other world for a few hours more, seemingly hypnotized, as she thought over the offer that was just made to her.

"We may never know, then", Timea responded, blowing a soft sigh. After, she continued speaking with more cheer, albeit forced, hoping to keep spirits up. "Well, what can you do. How about you head out of the city, and take care of your skin problem, and I'll join you once I've found Hillary, then we can start looking for a meal for you. Does that sound good?"

Femesh Daer Area - Day 4 - 7:44​

"Snapping a creature's neck is the cleanest, and most effective way to do it. The technique you'll use varies a little per creature, as well as the technique to keep them down while you do it, but I'll show you that when we've actually caught something. It's easier to show than to tell", Timea responded. Noticing the frown on Anik's face, Timea quickly anounced she was going to touch Anik, then placed her hand on Anik's shoulder, and, more reassuringly said, "Picking up on this is going to be hard, but don't worry, you'll pick up on it."

With that said, Timea pulled her hand away, and began walking deeper into the forest, but keeping in a place where she could keep an eye on Sibylla. While walking, she asked, "On an unrelated note; Could I just do something like snap my fingers to announce physical contact? Saying it is just... strange."

Robin waved comically to Cybil and Solaire, mostly out of boredom.

Solaire looked back to Robin. "Ho there, Robin! What say we put down the swords for now and do some strength training?"

Anik followed Timea, still not sure about herself. "All right, if you announce it this way, I shouldn't be surprised." Anik said, not bothering to tell her that it was not needed anyways in half the cases, when she was concentrated on what Timea was doing.

After the agreement, Timea continued her search in silence for a moment, but eventually decided it would be a good time to ask about Anik clutching her head, earlier. "I've been wondering", she began. "Before you left to check in to whatever it was you did, you were holding your head. I first thought you were in pain, but your comment before, about "needing to life out in the wilds" makes me think it was related to your special sense. Am I right?"

"Um... Alright." Robin put his sword back. "I'll look for some equipment." He did so.

Anik frowned ... well, did not lose her frown-face ... and answered: "You are right. I tried to block out stuff. Did not work however, not even a little bit."

Robin would find a number of fairly simple weights, near to a group of guards performing various physical exercises. Some of the weights, Robin would find, were clearly for people like the guard at the top of the tower, who had enhanced strength, though others were more suitable for sufferers of Baby Arms Syndrome like himself.

Robin picked up some weights, beginning a few basic lifts and curls.

Timea and her hunting party would find various signs of small mammals. However, they would also find signs of human traps and hunting activity, as well as wolf tracks leading from the mountains, and the scents of birds such as ravens.

At Anik's answer, Timea blew a soft sigh, shaking her head a little - even if it couldn't be seen - but otherwise kept paying attention to her surroundings. "This like this is what I meant, yesterday, about things getting too much", she commented, sounding a little deflated. Although not a greatly so, still speaking largely out of pragmatism, Timea felt some sympathy towards Anik's situation.

"We can talk about this, later, if you want. But for now, let's focus on the hunt. I see some tracks", she stated, speaking more factually at the mid point in her sentence. "There are traps, too, so I suggest you use your cane, for now. If you want, I'll lead you around safe ground, when a prey is near by."

After saying this, Timea looked over her shoulder, to Sibylla. "Sibylla? Come over here, I've found something!", she called out with a voice somewhat above normal speaking levels, but still well below shouting.

 

[Silence]

At Timeas behest, Anik started to use her cane again. "Traps? Annoying." she commented, actually thinking far worse of it than just "annoying", fearing to get stuck in one. "That would be very helpful." she added, although it did kind of defeat the purpose of her learning to hunt by herself.

"I don't know which animal is which by sensing their hearts, normally." she added, after some thought, thinking it might be important information.

"Shore duz!" Sibylla excitedly nodded to Timea and slithered off.

Once Timea was out of the city and on her way to finding Sibylla, she'd come across one of the trees in the forest now being made entirely out of grey sandstone.

Sibylla grunted affirmatively in reply to Timea and slithered over closer to check out what she was speaking of.
