Pelanna Area - Day 7

As Hillary, Anik and Timea moved north, they would see the bands of light overhead shifting and changing, however they still converged over the glaciers, including the one west of their current position, across the frozen lake. The images visible within them continued to represent a variety of scenes, ranging from fighting to people being healed, and the cities and towns all across the world being constructed.

"No, they don't got any feathers like that." Hillary shook her head, pausing as she considered how they would look covered in them, which earned a laugh out of her. "No they more got a long face, and um eyes up on its head, and big long legs. It can sploosh around too!" Hillary described, pulling at her cheeks to widen her mouth when mentioning the long face, and for the splooshing she raised one arm and had the other hand kinda hop across it. "Mom said they make noise in their neck and make it big and puffy, but I haven't see it though."

"The people should be careful up there, they might fall." Hillary commented as she looked upwards at the display, concerned for the image's well being, but not distressed over it.

Pelenna Area - Day 7 - 06:46​

"Hmm. I sort of recognise things from that description. I don't know what the creature I'm thinking of is called in this language, though. Or even if it's anything like a grogle", Timea responded, then let out a small snicker. "All things considered, it probably isn't."

When she began being able to see the images in the bands of light again, Timea looked up to the bands, taking in the various scenes. Occasionally, she glanced down to the road to look where she was going, but mostly kept looking up to the sky. To keep Anik in the loop, she said, "I'm seeing the images again, Anik", in an offhand manner.

 

[Silence]

Pelenna Area - Day 7 - 06:45

"Alright. Well, music is created for and in the moment, so I guess that is something you can appreciate." Anik said. "I wish I could play an instrument ... anyways, yes, Hillary, grogles sound really funny. Are they also made of slime?

... maybe we should sing something, while wandering." she added, smiling. "I can't really recite any songs, though."

As Hillary commented about the images, Anik was about to ask, but when Timea commented on it, Anik replied instead: "Alright. Thank you for telling me. Anything different about them this time?"

the monstrosity on the floor start to laugh. "You're going to die, she's going to get you. She's going to get you hahahahahahhahahahahahhahaa ah she....going.....to....make....you ...her...new..pettt." was the creatures last word as life left his eyes.

"I still see images of conflict. But, I also see places of varying sizes being built. Not all of these seem to be on Vesh, however... . I'm keeping an eye on the sky, to see if anything changes more as we move along", Timea answered Anik.

"So! A song. I'm not much of a singer, I'm afraid. But why don't you sing us something, Hillary~?"

Robin was disturbed by Broodwing's last words, but looked to the Vesh'Rah. "This attacked us." he told them.

"Well, they're a bit harder, like what houses are made of, but ya." Hillary nodded to Anik's question. "Everything is made out of slime there." Hillary answered. "No dirt or ice or rocks... well, there's kinda harder slimy rock stuff, but it's not like your rocks." Hillary pondered out loud.

"I don't think it's any different?" Hillary asked, unsure but sounding fairly confident.

"But what's an instrument? Is it a game? I like playing those!" Hillary asked, tugging on Anik's sleeve gently in her curiosity.

Hillary stopped tugging though once Timea suggested she should sing something for the trio, flicking her bottom lip with her finger. "Me sing something? Um... okay... Um..." Hillary grew quiet as she tried to think of something to sing.

"Do you know why? Or... what this thing is?" the Vesh'Rah guard asked Robin.

Pelanna Area - Day 7

Timea would see the bands of light continue to move across the sky, almost like waves on the sea. The images would change quite often, with no discernible pattern or repeats. The only connection would be the fact that the events all seemed like they had occurred on this world.

Pelenna Area - Day 7 - 06:46

"... not on Vesh. That's interesting. Might want to find out if there ever was a conflict on Vesh, or if war stopped before the coast." Anik said. "Instruments are things made out of wood, different things. If you ... do some things with them, like blowing in, or pluck strings, they make beautiful sounds." she answered Hillary. She smiled, when Hillary tugged on her sleeve, letting her do as she pleased.

"Slimy rocks, huh ... I still can't really imagine this stuff.

Hmm, let me think a bit more on a song, maybe I can remember something." she added.

"Oh that sounds neat, so are there lots of different instruments, are they hard to make noise with?" Hillary asked, curious as to how these things worked and if she could play with one later. "But um... the slimy rocks are... see through, kinda, and you can't really push into them very much, and they can roll if you put them on a hill... And um... like your rocks kinda?" Hillary tried to explain further, trying to describe what would essentially be a giant boulder made of a similar material as those gummy life saver candies, although a bit less malleable.

"Not what he is, but he claimed to be working for a collector of some sort and that people would die if he didn't get his way. Some of the councilmen saw the being he worked for."

 

[Silence]

Pelenna Area - Day 7 - 06:46

"No, it's not hard to make noise with them. But to play beautiful songs, that is had." Anik said. "Sorry, but I can't imagine it, really. Like a wheel? But soft?" she shook her head. "Weird.

Anyways, I think I have a song. Don't take it too serious." she added, after being silent for a few seconds. She took a deep breath, then began to sing, in a beautiful voice, that was untrained. One or two notes were slightly off, but with a bit more of training, she would be a real singer:

She stopped. "Alright, I don't really know more lyrics. Maybe, hmm, I can humm a bit." So she began humming the melody for a bit longer, while walking.

"No, I meant the citiess being built aren't all on Vesh. The conflicts seem to be on or near it, as far as I can deduce", Timea clarified.

She was silent during the rest of the exchange between Anik and Hillary, glancing down to Anik as she began to sing, listening closely. Not having a strong musical ear, she didn't notice the off-key notes, although the lyrics bothered her, striking a sore spot.

She continued to listen in silence until Anik finished humming, some moments speaking afterwards. "My, that was very so melodious. ... Ever such an violent subject, however. Why did you choose it?" she asked, not sounding judgemental, but a little put off.

"Honestly, it's the only one I could think of, right now. Probably not the best subject. But it is a joke song, don't take it seriously. Nobody has ever heard of evil unicorns." Anik said, wondering how bad her choice of a song had been.

"Ya, why'd the sorcer guy gotta be so bad." Hillary asked in turn, the lyrics honestly too vivid in their meaning to be brushed aside as easily as other nursery rhymes often had. The humming was pleasant though, and Hillary would have joined in, if not for her being a bit stuck on the lyrical accompaniment.

When Anik made her case, Hillary felt a little better if this truly was supposed to be a joke. It wasn't a very good joke, but at least the unicorns weren't bad. "So... what's a unicorn supposed to be? Is it an animal?" She asked, not knowing what this creature was supposed to be.

"Hmm... . Well, it was really nicely preformed. You're quite the canary~" Timea commented, sounding a little more upbeat again.

Not minding a change in subject, Timea looked down to Hillary as she spoke. "By your definition, yes, and no, Hillary", she began to answer, looking back up to the sky. "They didn't look like what most would consider a person, but could understand other language, although couldn't speak, themselves. Other than this, and what they look like, however, I don't really know a great deal about them. I've seen a few, but never really paid much attention to them."

"Thank you very much." Anik said in response to Timeas compliment, and smiled broadly.

I only know that a unicorn is supposed to look like a horse, but white, and with a horn. ... I don't know if we came across any horses though, I could not describe them to you, Hillary." she said. "They are mystical, and appear in fairy tales quite often. I have not yet met one. You have, Timea? I think I envy you."

She walked in silence for a bit, then said: "... Thinking about it, this songs lyrics were quite violent. But ... most of the songs and stories of my world are like that, even if they are for children. I ... never thought about it, but it did scare me, and probably others, quite a lot, when we were young.

I never want to go back there."
