Robin didn't help with the crates, instead levitating his book and a quill out of his pack and noting what happened around him.

Once all the crates were loaded, the captain would approach Heno. "Any more friends of yours coming?" he asked.

The sailor EMily had been talking to would return with a small journal. He would open it to a sketch of a merman, resembling those that EMily had encountered in Tokyo. "Here you go."

"Thank you very much." She nodded in return with a serious look on her face, and opened the book to the sketches.
"It's as I suspected." She said. She materialized her tool, Photon, and had it project a hologram of the merman she did an MRI of for comparison. After looking at the sketches, she compared the notes to see what she might have to deliver in knowledge; Things like how they communicate, their biology, and so forth.
"I've seen them before. They attempted to invade my homeworld."

"They did? Do you know how they managed that?" the sailor asked.
When she read the notes, EMily would learn that the writer of the journal had minimal knowledge about merfolk biology, though it did state they could use necromancy to add parts of other sea creatures onto their own bodies. The journal did describe their communication methods, noting the merfolk could use whale-like calls to give long-distance messages.

"Possibly through the same mechanism that brought most of us here, including me. There's something at play that's bringing people across from different worlds. That's my best guess." She then looked back at the notes. "They did indeed have sacrificial rituals when I met them. The whale calls seem new, although I do remember a whale song from when I saw them. But there's no mention of the bioluminescence they used. When I met them, a select few were using flashes of light from a single antennae like an angler fish. These merfolk must be of a similar but slightly different species. When I and my group were able to slay one of them, I did a scan using magnetic fields to look inside the being. I guess it would be the equivalent to spells on this world that can see inside objects without touching them." She was hesitant on using the term "MRI".

"Should be so. Snake woman, and Spirit woman is not here." He looked around at the ship before saying "... Uh... Is there anywhere for us to actually sleep?

"Maybe that one just implanted an angler fish antenna in their head. I've never seen that before, though. Wonder why they'd do that." the sailor stated.

"Sleeping quarters are below deck. But we shouldn't need sleep on this journey." the captain replied.

Speedy was looking around the ship for anything interesting. If there were rats on the ship, he would try to talk to them, to no avail (probably).

Then he looked out and for the first time really took in the sight of the ocean.

"Maybe. But it seemed like it was pretty attached. Do sailors here use flashes of light with a lantern to communicate? Sailors on my world call it 'Morse code'."

"Because we have to make sure we've got all our supplies on board, and that our weapons are ready." one of the Vesh'Rah stated.

"It would be well-attached. They can replace limbs almost perfectly." the sailor replied. "And no, we don't do anything like that."

"Why? Important to keep energy up. Other sailor can always keep watch of others. Surely island is more than day away from mainland. Is not like some vengeful god is going to attack us in sleep."

"Actually, it is less than a day away. We should be near Palladein shortly after nightfall." the captain replied.
When Heno mentioned vengeful gods, one of the Kaisiri sailors suddenly jumped up and sprinted below deck.

"So they assimilate biologies of other sea creatures. Fascinating." She said with a glow in her eyes. "Assuming that they can use biologies of sea creatures there are two possibilities. Either they assimilated the angler fish antenna back on my world and angler fish were new to them. Or there are angler fish for them on this world, and the ones I saw might have come after the discovery of the angler fish on this world. Angler fish are supposed to exist in extremely deep trenches. The ones on my world are about the size of an average freshwater fish."

At the sight of a sailor running away from Heno's superstitious talk, she rolled her eyes.

Heno looked at The Captain incredulously. "Surely it can not be less than day away! You surely must not mean that island is so close to land... Are you sure this is not lake? I have never heard of island so close to land."
