Yeager's voice makes a chill go down your spine, and as you look around the room you reply to him in a shaken but defiant tone; [color=0066cc]"Really? Well I don't care a jot about what you think."[/color] You then begin to silently, and only after a second glance to make sure there aren't any cameras, check if your equipment has been confiscated. [color=0066cc]My blaster might be gone, but I might still have a trick or two to play...[/color]

"Alright." Anik said, quite ashamed of herself. "But what do you mean, 'the machine equivalent of eyes and ears'? Yeager does not have these 'robots' - artififical life - as far as I know. How would that work?"

"Ana!" Speedy called out to her, jumping near her book. "You are free now, we have heard!"

Hearing the humming noise, Anik wondered what it was, planning to ask Timea. "Umm ... wait for a bit. Until I have talked to Yeager, please." she said, still anxious. "But then, yes, thanks.

Anyways, what is that sound? Where does it come from?" she added.

Yeager rolled his eyes, not that Shara could see it. "Ok then I'll just get to the damn point. That guy was controlling you, and I van't to know vhat he did, and if there's a vay to stop it."

"He does have mockeries like that running around. I saw two posted outside the main entrance, serving as guard dogs", Timea pointed out, her tone increasing in its venom as she mentioned the robots, especially when saying "mockeries". "Who knows how many more he has, inside. But whatever the case; I don't know what machines like these are called, in this language, nor do I know how they work. But what they do, is that they "look" at whatever they might be pointed at, which lets someone at a security station see it.

A second type exists, which allows a person to store what the device has seen and heard. Think of this like a book, but containing events, instead of words. They can also make a still picture, like a painting, expect produced in an instant."

"Both types have made staying hidden even more difficult than it already was."

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:17​

"Okay. I can wait for that", Timea agreed.

When asked about the noise, Timea looked to the direction it was coming from. "It's some kind of machine, although I'm not sure what. Potentially, it's the engine of the navy ship that's being built", she answered, then in a more growling, hushed tone, added, "I hate it... ." Realising Anik probably wouldn't know what an engine was, Timea further added, "If you're wondering what an engine is - it's a "wonder of advanced technology", and a big step towards the ruination of this world."

Softly scoffing, Timea began walking towards the side entrance of the factory, and looked to see if it was still unguarded. "Whatever the case, the entrance is this way", she said to Anik as she walked.

Femesh Daer, Beach Area - Day 10 - 15:01

As Timea told her that Yeager had robots, Anik frowned deeply, but at the same time was glad that she now knew about this, not being able to see them as she had arrived back in Femesh Daer. "I don't like that Yeager has all this stuff ..." she murmured.

"All this stuff sounds terrible." Anik said, as Timea had finished explaining. "Talk about being at a disadvantage ... this stuff does make someone like me completely useless. And I can't even know about it, unless I am being told about it. No chance to sense it, not even with the thing I have learned ... and I can not even use it myself. This really sucks. I might as well just spend my days out in the wilderness ... or always have someone with me who can point these things out."

"Thank you." Anik said, a little relieved. She frowned at Timeas description of the ship, believing her that an engine was a bad thing.

"Alright." did she say as she followed Timea. "Tell me when you see Yeager, I can't sense him."

Looking up, Ana replied, "They mentioned that, but it isn't official yet. I'm staying here, either way. My old home... it was in the capital." She looked down and sighed heavily, staring at her notes. "Where have you been, these past few days? You arrived with those Vesh'Rah, according to my brother."

"I'm sorry..." Robin said. "We traveled to Vesh to learn more about what happened to the sun God, and when we explained what went on here the Vesh council decided to make a deal with Calibeth. We followed them as retainers."

"I freed you." Quan Chi's voice rang out of nowhere, before a green tinted apparition of him appeared in the corner of the room. He looked at Shara. "First from your prison, then from your deformity."

 

[Furioso]

"So you're like me then... and I do apologize for the state of the cell, it vas just a storage space before." said Yeager before the Quan Chi ghost appeared. "Vhat? How the hell did you get in there!?" asked Yeager angrily, putting his hands on the door handle, but not yet opening the door.

Timea would find the side entrance unguarded, at least from the outside.

Timea let out a "hmm" as Anik mentioned she didn't like Yeager's creation, either, agreeing wholeheartedly.

Once Anik finished speaking, Timea said, "you know what I'd recommend." She said this lacking the humour she would normally say a sentence like it with, sounding more bemused. Blowing a small sigh, she continued, sounding more level, but still not happy. "Expect to find many more atrocious machines and devices like this in an advanced world. People might claim such things are good, that they improve the standard of living, but this is a humbug. Even in the times it does - subjectively - improve on something, it only solves a problem that was caused by the greedy attitude of more, more, more society is driven by, to begin with.

And no one is actually happier for having these things. If I asked a person in any time period "are you happy with how things are?" The answer would be neutral. The only times it would not be so is when the necessities for life aren't available."

After saying this, Timea was quiet for a time, then let out a dismayed "bah."

Seeing the side entrance was still approachable, Timea walked towards it, and knocked on it with her knuckles, thrice. Or rang a bell, if one was present. Either way, after doing so, she stepped aside, far enough for Anik to be able to approach the door, without being scalded by the heat.

Vala - Day 9 - 06:11

"I'm sorry that your old home got destroyed." Speedy said. "Cybil somehow did that the Vesh'Rah went here with diplomats, and did not try a war!" he explained.

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:03

"You are probably right about all of this." Anik said in a serious tone of voice. "I just ... have to learn how to read, and something like that. I want to know such worlds myself, before making a final judgment. But at least ... hopefully I have the choice to go somewhere to live a life as hunter and gatherer in the end, after all that you have taught me."

She thought for a few seconds, then said: "Do you think being able to read would be a necessity? Not for one who is alone, but for someone like me, who wants at least a small community?

... I am thinking about not wanting too much. I did have much for a time in my life, and it certainly did not make me happier. Still ... some things ... maybe I'm just human after all. Longing for things which will not satisfy me anyways, in the long run."

After Timea had knocked, Anik hesitantly walked forwards, clicking to not run against the door, expecting to hear Yeagers voice, or at least one of his goons.

Quan Chi ignored Yeager, keeping his focus on Shara. "Are you not glad to see me, Shara?" He sounded a bit offended.

Yeager opened the door, four of his Red Eyes behind him, aiming his rifle at Quan Chi's ghost.

A normal looking Calibethian man wearing a coat of similar fashion to Yeagers opened the door. "...Welcome to Leviathans Claw, may I help you?" he asked.

"They were diplomats? I hope everything goes well, in that case. I'd hate for a war to start." Ana replied.

"It does look good, I think. For now. Do you think something could happen with the diplomats? Even though they do just peaceful talk right now?" Speedy asked, a little bit afraid of the possibility of something going wrong.

Femesh Daer, Factory - Day 10 - 15:17

Reading the Calibethean mans heart, Anik answered him: "Thank you. We - I would like to talk to a prisoner here. Shara is her name. Would I be allowed to do that? Is she here?"

The second question was asked with some anxiety to it, as Anik was not able to sense Shara's heart in any kind of way.
