Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:30

"FUCK!" Anik called out angrily, and punched the air in the spot where Quan Chi had stood just a second before. "I thought that would knock him out!"

Calming down, she walked backwards and felt for the bed again, seating herself on it. "Why? Why did I do that? Why was I this stupid?" Anik said, hitting herself against the head. "Fuck ... why did I bring her here? Why ..." Desperation set in her voice. Anik sniffed, and turned her head towards Rebecca. "You, what were you trying to do? Why ... I fucked up. Again. Completely. Fuck!"

Thinking for a bit, she turned to the Red Eyes. There was already a trace of red tears visible under her blindfold. "I think ... you can go now ..."

Burrowing her face in her hands, Anik began to sob.

The Red Eyes nodded and headed back to Yeager's factory. While they were heading back, the humming noise that had been coming from the ship stopped.

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:31

Rebecca placed her fan down again, then looked at Anik. "I was trying to find out what he'd done, precisely." Rebecca stated. "The plan wasn't exactly well thought out, I admit."

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:31

Anik sniffed, then said, more to the ground than to Rebecca: "Well, better than mine. Trying to knock him out ... I don't even know how powerful he is. Why did I just react this way ... act on my feelings ... not thinking.

And I literally have patience here to remind me of a better plan."
Anik laughed bitterly. Feeling blood on her hands, she murmured "Damn ..." and created some water with her ring, to wash it away.

"That could be problematic." Quan mentioned, pacing. "And what happened to your weaponry?"

"If it makes you feel any better, you knocking him out would have helped me, too." Rebecca replied, sitting down next to Anik. "Anyway, to get back to what I was saying before the interruption, no, Shara isn't possessed. Though what seems to have happened to her isn't dissimilar. Possession is when a spirit takes control of a physical being. Binding is when a physical being takes control of a spirit. Same thing, different direction."

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:31

"Hmm ..." Anik said, wanting to feel better for what Rebecca said, but not really managing to do so, still feeling like she was stuck in some hole. "I understand. So ... Quan Chi did a similar thing, but as a physical being taking over another ... physical being? Do you know about something like that? If it is reversible?

... Does it even matter anymore, now that she is gone? And Quan Chi probably will hunt me? ... Why did I do that, I told Shara earlier it was an advantage if he did know as little as possible about me."

She scrubbed her face, much harder than needed, to wash off the blood, which led to her face getting a bright red color.

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:32

"Well, physical beings have spirits. They're just, normally, bound to their bodies until death. So... either Quan Chi knows some technique I don't, or he just killed Shara, then bound Shara's spirit to... I guess her corpse? I don't know what was going on with Shara's body." Rebecca replied, staring down at her feet as she thought. After a few moments of silence, she continued, "If it's not too different from the style of binding I know, it should be reversible. I just can't reverse it, at least not now."

"I can't speak for Robin, but I wouldn't describe myself as such." Cybil answered. "I just did it because I felt it was the right thing to do."

"No matter. I made it once, I can make it again." Quan went to his conjuration pit, waving his arms above it. "Who was that girl in the blindfold?" He asked Shara as he worked.

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:32

"He killed her. Shara said that she saw her own frozen corpse. That means ... this is not her real corpse, right?" Anik speculated. "So it might be that you know how to reverse it? That's one good message, at least."

"But we need Shara for it. And her body. Right?" she added, sounding depressed. "How would we ever find her again ..."

"Ah, right." Ana replied. "What will you be doing next?"

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:32

"I know the theory, possibly. Never actually done it. But yes, we'd need Shara. Not her body, though. As soon as she's exorcised, she becomes a ghost. Her spirit is freed from the physical world, and she dies. The only way to keep her around would be to rebind her, but then she'd just be under someone else's control. Granted, it might be someone less malevolent, but still..." Rebecca explained.

"So ... she's basically dead already? No real method of freeing her? Rebinding her into her own body?" Anik said, feeling close to despair.

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:33

Rebecca nodded, forgetting the action was pointless considering Anik's blindness. "None that I know of. True resurrection is something mortals can't do. A demon, angel or some other powerful spirit, maybe, but a normal human spirit... no. The closest humans can come to that is becoming a more powerful spirit, and that would let them form themselves a magical body in the physical world." Rebecca stated, bluntly. She then considered Anik's last query, and replied, "You could bind her into her corpse, to make a zombie, but, again, she'd be bound to the binder's will. Exact same situation, just a different person responsible."

Femesh Daer - Day 10 - 15:35

Anik was quiet for a while, thinking.

Finally, she said: "So it was probably pointless all along ... what about killing her current body? What would that accomplish?

... and killing Quan Chi? Or force him to give up his control, without taking Shara's spirit out of the body?"

She did not move, not knowing what gestures she would have to do at this point. After asking, Anik held one hand against her head again, trying to think more. "She's not fully human, though. I remember ... she had more potential. Somehow. Maybe her spirit is strong enough to do things? If she's undead, why could I sense her heart, even if it was this faintly ...

Now I'm just trying to grasp every last strawI have. I ... wish ... I wish he had taken me instead of Shara. This is hell for her."

"I'm still looking for a way of get the others home." Robin told Cybil. "Perhaps we should try to find them."
