The priestess gave a description of the various landmarks around the cave entrance, including nearby cliffs, rocks and which mountain peaks would be visible. She then said, "Whatever you want, really. There's no topic that Faotar wouldn't want to discuss, that I know of."

Anik thanked the priestess again, memorizing the description she had told, then thought about what else she could ask. Finally, she said: "Even though the climb is dangerous ... do you have some tips about how to get up there in the best way? ... Do you actually think I could manage the climb?"
After she had answered, Anik asked her less urgent questions: "I hear that there are blades sharpened here. Do these have something to do with the religion of Faotar? I know he is the god of hunting, but still ... it's kind of unusual to hear weapons inside a church. In what ways do you revere Faotar?"

"Well, I climbed up the sheerer cliff faces. It's the riskiest way up, but also the most direct. And I don't see why you couldn't, especially if you have a guide. It could be harder, but it's not exactly easy for everyone else." the priestess explained. She then continued, "In a way. Our function is to hunt, and we need our bows and swords to do this. Many southerners think the same way as you, especially those who worship the healing goddess. And we show our faith and reverence through our rituals. I could show you what this means, if you don't have a problem touching scars."

Upon reaching the Northern Ward, Cybil left Robin to go study with an instructor while she went around looking for someone to loan her a piece of star-metal for several hours.
After getting a piece, she attempted to perform all manners of magic she was aware of. She became frustrated as nothing she did gave any results by the smallest reasonably observable amount. She very nearly gave up within the first hour, but kept herself from doing so as she realized she had very little else worth doing after a moment of quiet contemplation. She began working to create some form of response, this time affording each of her efforts far more time to possibly bear fruit. Only after she noticed the star-metal occasionally glowing did she realize her efforts weren't completely in vain. Finally finding something that garnered a response, even though she still couldn't notice it, Cybil was able to narrow her focus of study. After several hours of work, she was able to discover her affinity was indeed that of Time, as was suggested, as she noticed an eventually correlation between the sky-metal glowing, and events all around her seeming to slow slightly.
Cybil was happy to have made notable progress in learning a new skill. The thought of needing to put significant effort to produce anything of true value not daunting her to continue practicing when she could, as she was well and fully used to the process of learning and honing new skills.

Cybil found Robin, with a sky-metal ring, experimenting with electricity. So far he had only managed to make a few small sparks, unused to this new kind of magic. He looked up as Cybil entered the room, smiling at her. "So, how'd it go?"

You rush forward, letting your cloak fall off you. When you get close, you knee one guard in the face. You quickly follow that up by twisting around and smashing the butt of your blaster into the side of his head. With this attack done, you take a look around before asking Quan Chi if he any idea on how to open the gate.

"You do? Which one?" the priestess asked, as she took Anik's hand. She would then guide Anik's fingers over a set of scars on her lower legs. The scars would be in the shape of an animal's paw pads, on the shin halfway between the knees and ankles.

"I have the one about strength on my arm." Anik stated. She felt the ones the priestess had on her legs, recognizing them as paw pads. "What do these do?" she asked, after she was finished. "Aside from honoring Faotoar, of course."
After she got up again, she took off one sleeve of her coat, to show her arm and scar to the priestess. "Look, this is the one I have." she said, smiling. "I got it out of an old book from the south. It had more complicated ones as well, but I could not do them. Also, it was missing vital information."

You nod, running up to try and push the gate open. If this doesn't succeed, you step back and raise your blaster. Switching it to kill mode and full-auto, you fire a stream of super-heated plasma into the gate to try and carve a path through it.

Shara would be more likely to break her shoulder than the heavy wooden gate by charging into it. However, shooting it would begin burning a hole through the wood, which would get the guards on the other side to begin yelling for assistance.

Quan Chi saw the tower. He raised his hands above his head, hands glowing red. Out of thin air a demonic bat like creature appeared, directed to the tower by Quan Chi and ready to savage whoever it saw first.
