"Ah, nice." Anik said. "Would it be possible to get one here? ... and which ones are there? I only know of the knot sign on the stomach, for endurance, and now about the speed. I probably would want something ... to resist more damage. Or maybe something that would enhance my sense of smell? I like to hunt, but I have some problems identifying the animals."

Vala - Day 10
You fire an outline into the gate, spending thirty charges doing so. The sound is deafening - you had forgotten how loud a blaster can be and the repeated thunder-like cracks serve as a sharp reminder. Then, you flick your blaster to semi-auto stun mode and move forward, kicking at the centre of the outline with a shout.

Vala - Day 10 - 17:18

After kicking the outline, Shara would find her way into the northern ward was now unobstructed. On the other side of the gate across the yard, however, would be around a dozen archers, all aiming at her. One shouted an order, at which point the archers shot a volley towards Shara. Shara might also see a group of more heavily armoured soldiers exiting the main building, each of them wearing a glowing piece of sky-metal.

"Well, for a start, the endurance symbol goes on the chest. Enhancing your senses is something we can do now, though." the priestess stated, standing up and taking Anik's hand. "I can do it right now, if you'd like."

Mathan Daer - Day 11 - 11:03

"Oh, on the chest ... right, I think I just forgot." Anik said, letting out a small laugh. "That would be nice, yes." she answered. "I'd like to have that ... just tell me what you will do, so that I am not startled by something unforeseen."

Vala - Day 10
Your eyes widen, and you begin to twist sideways to get in cover. [color=0066cc]"Oh shi-"[/color] - You are unable to finish the sentence, as the volley of arrows hit. You hear three thunks, and feel a sharp pain in your left arm. You cry out, but at the same time you holster your blaster and produce a small silver ball from a pocket. You throw it through the opening and shield your ears.

Two seconds later, a bright flash flows through the opening and you feel the sound-wave like a punch to the chest. You step out into the opening and try to ignore the ringing in your ears as you scan the courtyard with your blaster raised, ready to put down anyone still standing.

Shara would see the guards had mostly dropped their weapons, all of them visibly incapacitated by the attack.

The priestess led Anik to a side room, and would lie her down on a bed. "I'm going to have to cut your face, in the area around your eyes, nose and ears. Is that okay?"

You take careful aim, moving into the courtyard as you one blast each at the twenty most active guards,then reloading while calling out to Quan Chi; "The clock is ticking! We've got thirty minutes before they wake up!"

Anik suddenly gulped, and said: "This ... I don't know. I thought it would be less visible ... . Say, does it look too bad? Can it be hidden by my blindfold? ... And ... you don't cut too much near my eyes, right? ... Can you trace your finger along the lines you would cut? It's ... a sensitive area."

"Probably better luck then me then." Robin said sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head, forgetting he was wearing sky metal and giving himself a small electric shock.

The bat would have no trouble getting through the door, aiming at the man with the sword. If he hit it fast enough it would vanish, but if not the bat would tear his throat out.
Quan followed Shara, picking off any guards she missed with magical bolts in the shape of flaming skulls as he progressed through the courtyard. He gabbed some Sky metal, curious, then looked over the courtyard for a way further into the northern ward.

Cybil chuckled to herself as Robin gave himself a jump. [color=9f2089]"Well, it's understandable. You already know magic, so it's probably a hurdle to wrap your head around something different, but still similar."[/color]

"You have no idea. It's like trying to learn a different way of breathing." Robin levitated a tome over, writing something down. "Glad to see you're getting a knack for it though. Wonder where we can get some Sky Metal once we get out of here..."

Vala - Day 10 - 17:18

The guard would be able to strike and kill the bat quickly.

Shara and Quan Chi would be able to deal with the archers, but the sorcerers had backed away after Shara blinded and deafened them. However, as they entered the yard, a few guards from the southern part of the city would begin moving behind them, shooting a volley of arrows at their backs. After that, a pair of white-haired Faotrine priests would rush through the line of archers, one at Shara and the other at Quan Chi. They would be moving at around the speed of a galloping horse, and would swing punches at their targets with strength enhanced by their speed, and by Faotar.
At the same time, soldiers within the buildings would gather their weapons, with archers taking positions in windows and shooting at Quan Chi and Shara. This would be accompanied by sorcerers within the library building also preparing to attack. Bolts of lightning, fireballs and spikes of rock would fly at the two attackers.

The priestess traced a line from the tip of Anik's nose, up the bridge and then curving over the left brow. The line would then curve back down towards the cheek, and finally make another curve towards the left ear where it ended. She would then make the same line, this time going to the right. Then, she would trace a straight line from the tip of Anik's nose, to the ear, going left, and repeat it going right.

Anik frowned, then said, not very happy: "Thanks, but ... I am sure this would look weird for people in other regions ... or worlds. And I don't even know if the enhancement would work, if I would traverse to other worlds. Do you think it would? So ... I think I'll do without it."

After the priestess had answered her question, Anik added: "There isn't a possibility to enhance my sense of smell, without doing it this ... complicated, right? ... A scar somewhere else, where I could hide it if I would need to?
If not, I would like another one. Something to help me climbing, perhaps? Or just the endurance thing."

"Honestly, I have no idea. Perhaps it could." the priestess stated. "And, no, this is the ritual to enhance the sense of smell. Though, you could possibly cover it with your blindfold and a hood. But, if you want the endurance symbol, that's fine."

"Yes, but a hood ... a blindfold already does make people react differently to you. I'll do without it. Thank you anyways, for offering. And yes, I would like the endurance instead. Umm ... I probably need to undress for this, right?" Anik asked.

If answered with yes, Anik would take off the coat completely, and the qipao she wore underneath, then let the priestess cut the endurance symbol into her flesh. While she did so, Anik asked, when not focusing to keep the pain at bay: "I need to pray to Faotar again, right? Or in what way do you activate these ... blessings?"

The priestess would answer in the affirmative, as she picked up a knife and began cleaning it. She then started carving the symbol into Anik's chest, over the sternum. "You need to pray to Faotar, yes."

"Just as I thought." Anik said, and tried smiling, which was not that easy with someone carving in her chest. Then she started praying to Faotar, using similar words as she had when she had prayed previously. She kept it up until the priestess was finished, and for a bit longer, then stopped and waited for something to happen.

Vala - Day 10
You don't know why, and you have no time to think about it, but you turn around in time to see the archers form up outside the still mostly-closed gate. Backing away, towards the buildings, you flick your blaster to full-auto and fire a stream of ten bolts out to dissuade them, catching two white-haired priests in the line of fire as they charge through the narrow opening. [color=0066cc]"This is a death-trap! We're surrounded!"[/color] - You tell Quan Chi, shouting to be heard over the blaster-fire. An arrow whistles past your ear, and you see a stone spike crash against the ground. You feel so much danger behind you that you do not sense the well-aimed fireball until it explodes against your back, sending you to the ground swiftly. You groan, your vision blurry and your chest hurting.

Vala, day 10, 17:19
Quan Chi was almost hit by an arrow, and raised his hands. A wall of glowing green skulls rose, forming an igloo like shell around him and Shara, but not before Shara was knocked down. The Faotar enhanced fighters would smack into the skull wall but could break it down if they tried. Quan picked up and dusted off Shara, then made a portal, jumping through it and bringing Shara with him. The other end of the portal spat them out on top of the roof of one of the buildings, so at least they were no longer surrounded. Quan kept the skull shell up, hoping they wouldn't notice he had slipped away.
