Anik nodded, but did say nothing, not wanting to strain her voice. The rest of the time, while Timea was eating, she was quiet, listening to her surroundings, and even napping for short periods of time, the food she had eaten making her sleepy.

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:46

Anik smiled to Timea, felt for her things, and said: "Alright. I hope we don't have to walk too long. Although ... I don't really mind, either way."

After finding her things, she got up, ready to leave. "Umm ... do you want to take either this pack with the climbing gear, or the animal?" she said, after realizing there was no way to carry both.

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:46​

"Hmm. I'll carry the animal", Timea answered. Stepping over to the caribou carcass, Timea had her blanket covered, and bended through her knees. She picked the carcass up by the paws, and rose back to her full height. She had her elbows bended, resting her forearms on her shoulders, so the carcass wouldn't drag over the ground.

With this done, Timea moved back onto the path, and began walking towards the mountains. "So, after we've spoken to Faotar, we'll head back to Meltha. There, we should ask if the others passed through, and rest nearby, if we're tired, by that point. This is the plan I had in mind. Do you have any objections, or something to add?"

 

[Silence]

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:46

"Is Meltha close?" Anik asked, following Timea, using the cane. "I don't have any objections. I don't know where Meltha lies, though. At some point, we should check out Vala as well, but ... I'm assuming we will come through Meltha before that anyways, so this is no problem. And the church of Et was south of Meltha as well, right? So this would all be future plans. For now, just speaking to Faotar and then going to Meltha should be good."

 

[Chungus]

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:47​

"Not especially close, but it would be the closest city in the region. And it's due south. Maybe south-east", Timea explained. "But you're right on all other things. So, the plans settled, for now."

She was quit for a moment, then asked, "oh, by the way. Since you don't want to eat most things from the head, may I have those parts, from this one?" At the end of her sentence, Timea tapped on the legs of the carcass, to indicate what she meant.

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:47

Anik smiled to the plan, then answered, guessing rightly what Timea tapped, as no other thing with an head would be eaten, when Timea asked: "Of course. We would not want to waste stuff now, would we?

I can at least remember some lessons you teach me." she joked. "But honestly, I doubt I would even be able to get to the head before it decomposes, as I doubt I can eat enough to use all of the animal."

"Certainly not!" Timea responded, jokingly. She then paused, and spoke more seriously, but kept an overall cheery demeanour. "Well, the tongue, at least, would last for a while, depending on conditions. But yes, the eyes and brain would almost certainly be gone by the time you get to it, especially with an animal this large. The brain is a tricky part to prepare, it should be said. Not only can it be difficult to get out of the skull, but the actual cooking, too. Too much heat, and it will turn inedible, in one way or another. Too little, and there is a very real chance you could get horribly ill from it. So if you're not sure what you're doing, it might be best to leave that bit for the scavengers."

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:48

Anik frowned a little as Timea explained the brain thing. "I won't try to eat brain, then. Although I never planned to, anyways, so well enough.
Do you want to eat that, or do you leave this to the scavengers, as well?" she asked.

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:49​

"It's been a while, so I'm not sure there is anything left to eat, inside the skull. By this point, it may have turned into a mush. This may still be edible, but... , I have never been very inclined to try. I suppose we'll see what state it's in, when it's time to eat."

After saying this, Timea was quiet for a moment, then let out a small "hmm". "It's ever so strange, however; my eating habits. I used to be able to get by with a fraction of what I eat, now. The same goes for water, and sleep."

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:49

Anik nearly threw up when Timea said that the brain maybe had already turned into a mush. Gulping, she did not answer, instead saying something to the second part, after thinking about it for a little bit. "That's really strange. I thought it was normal for you ... that I have to wait this long until you are finished. Although it was even longer, today.

Hmm ... maybe it is the cold? You need this blanket all the time, but it does not protect you completely. So I guess the cold takes a lot of energy as well?"

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:49​

"Well, we did talk while I was eating. So this naturally added to the time", Timea stated. She didn't apologise for the time Anik has to wait while she eats, thinking it's nothing that can be helped. Instead, she explained,
"of course, I wouldn't take nearly as long if I was in my real form. But with this cold, I couldn't make myself that large."

"But, that's as far as cold has anything to do with my eating habits. I needed to eat this much, long before even coming to this world. The last time I could last long on a single meal, was back in the days of early civilisation." Giving this explenation, Timea briefly paused. "I was smaller back in those days, but certainly not by so much to explain this vastly greater energy requirement."

Mathan Daer Area - Day 11 - 15:49

"Oh." Anik said, surprised. "I thought you meant needing more after arriving here. I ... don't know why you would need more, now? Is ... is there something that needs much more energy from you? The ... shapeshifting, maybe? Or ... some emotions that would need more? ... I can only speculate. I know only my own, human, needs, and even those barely."

Seeing that everyone else around but her was wholly disinterested in helping the possibly injured man, Cybil groaned and went to go find a doctor or healer, not wanting to try moving Robin in case he had internal injuries.

After a couple of minutes, a priestess entered Shara's cell, and began quickly treating Shara's wounds. The process of applying salves and bandages wouldn't take too long, and when it was complete Shara would feel the pain lessening. The injuries themselves, however, would take longer to fully heal.

A guard approached Cybil and Robin and asked, "What do you need me to do?" He crouched down as he spoke, examining Robin carefully. "What happened to him?"

"Hmm. Those are both possibilities. I might never find out", Timea commented, then let out a small snicker. "I suppose, then, that we can be nearly ignorant to our needs, together."

After the previous topic, Timea walked in silence for some ten minutes. "Hmm. You said you want to be more like others, Anik?" she eventually asked. "Who might that be, all, and why?"

Anik snickered about TImeas joke a little, as well, staying silent otherwise, not knowing what else to say.

"I ... don't know." Anik said. "It was spoken while I was upset. I don't really want to be more like others. Certainly not like most other humans. But ... it's like everything has to be done for me in a special way. I'm too rash, I'm damaged, I can't deal with other people for long, I'm blind ... brr, I don't even want to think about it. I sometimes wish I would just be like ... Robin or Cybil, maybe. Just ... going on with things, without having to think about how to do them in my way, before. Just walking through a city, with nothing to bother me, nothing at all.

It's ... it's unpleasant to think about these things. I just sometimes get in this mood ... but I can't change what I can't change. So it is completely pointless. This mood."

Vala - Day 10
You are relieved to see the priestess enter your cell, but you're less happy when it turns out that you need to remove the top of your protection suit. Though you've only had the suit again for a few days, you have grown very accustomed to it. As you pull it off, swearing heavily at the pain, you are struck by how cold it is. As such, you shiver constantly as the priestess heals you. When she's done, your torso has been practically covered in bandages. You upper left arm is also bandaged, but those bandages are already partially red from blood.

With the pain lessening, you soon fall asleep, covering yourself with a blanket to protect against the cold.
