Sibylla seemed uncomfortable with having her tail touched so much, but didn't say anything about it. "Usually folks die when they git bit by snakes. They got some kinda nastiness in 'em that kills ya even if'n ya'll treat tha wound."

"Haven't had too much of'a problem with gettin' sick ta be honest. Nobody does back home, really."

Sibylla would stay near Hillary for the time being, though she would try not to move around on the wooden planks too much, finding the sensation disagreeable.

Earlier​

"You'll have a stronger resistance to diseases than most, due to your more down-to-Earth lifestyle. But, do you want to keep taking the risk?" Timea questioned. "A hide infection is easily to contract, but ever so hard to get rid of. Granted, I don't know anything about how your body might work, but I imagine things are about the same for everyone made of flesh and blood."

"Be careful there, now~!" Timea called out to both Hillary and Sibylla as they moved over the gangways, then looked back to the sailor, giving him a small smile. "Yes. I was wondering if there was anywhere where I could take a look at a regional and/or world map," she explained. "Can you help me?"

The sailor thought for a moment, then pointed at a small building at the end of the docks. "They might have some you can look at."

Aqua turned around and started looking out for the pirate ship again.

 

[Slenn]

"Well, it's a peaceful memory at least. Despite how boring it may be. I always hold onto stuff like that whenever I'm fighting. If I lose my sense of peace, I don't think I could control myself. Perhaps you'll get more peaceful memories here, before we engage the pirates."

"I'll do that. Thank you", Timea responded, giving a small nod. Turning, Timea faced Hillary and Sibylla, calling out, "I'm headed to the end of the docks. You two can wait here, if you want."

With her two companions informed, Timea began walking towards the building the sailor indicating, looking at the buildings and what she could see through the windows as she walked.

"Eh. Peaceful thoughts don't keep you alive." Jane replied.

"You die!? B-B-But then how do you not get hurt from them?" Hillary would have asked, drawing her attention away from the scaly tail.

"I am, I am." Hillary called back to Timea when asked to be careful. When Hillary turned back to the gangway, she looked closer at the gaps in between, pressing her face up closer to it, and then gasping. "There are little rocks climbing the... um. This stuff." She said, giving a nice audiable smack to the gangway to emphasize she was talking about the wood. Anyone looking to see what she was talking about would see some barnacles on the wood pillars, although they'd be hard to see from underneath with how the shadows were.

When Timea called out to her and Sybilla, Hillary looked up again and pondered a moment before nodding. "Okay, I'm gonna wait here then."

Looking inside the building, Timea would see a pair of people organising various sheets of paper. Some were covered in writing, others with drawn images. The room they were standing in was behind a wall, which divided it from the building's front room. However, an opening in the dividing wall would allow people in the front room to speak with those in the back room.

"But they keep you calm. I often find that if I tense up too much in combat I end up making mistakes. But if I'm focused and don't let panic or anger get to me, I find that I'm a whole lot better even when adrenaline is rushing through me. It's not about being angry or wrathful, but in control. I feel like I'm in more control when I take deep breaths during combat. And even in moments like here it's best to relax and not be tense. You'll spend less energy being angry and tense here, and you'll have more energy when we go fight pirates."

Once reaching the building, Timea looked inside for a moment, nothing the people working inside. After a moment, Timea knocked on the door if it was closed, or the frame if it was opened, and called out, "Hello?" She didn't enter the building, thinking she should avoid damaging the floors of buildings by not entering, if it could be helped.

"Right. Sure." Jane said, not being fully convinced.

 

[Slenn]

Is this seriously a repeat of Topaz? Please don't let it be that.

She took a deep breath.
"Then let me ask you this, do you feel like you're more focused when you're relaxed or when you're stressed out?"

"Come in," a voice responded to Timea from inside the building.

"Neither. When I need to kill, I just think about what I need to do, and focus on that." Jane replied.

 

[Chungus]

"I shouldn't, it'll damage your floor", Timea called out in turn after a moment of thought. In case anyone looked towards her, Timea would point down at her feet, to the sunken tiles.

The pair inside the building were silent, as they tried to work out how someone entering the building would damage the floors. With a sigh, one said, "Come around to the side window, then."

 

[Slenn]

"That's not entirely what I'm talking about. I'm talking about in general, both in and out of combat. Let me word it like this: Do you feel like you can focus more or think about what you need to do when you're relaxed or stressed? This goes for missions or for leisurely activities."

She takes another breath.
"The reason why I'm asking all these questions about what you do out of combat, is because I don't know what it's like to be in a war. But I know from experience that the soldiers in my time go through a lot of trauma, and they each have something that they don't let go of that lets them focus more on what they need to do. Maybe it's a fond memory, or a trinket, or a mantra that they channel."

Doing as suggested, Timea walked around to the window. There, without putting any real weight on it, she placed her hands on the window frame, and peeked inside with her head, leaning forward a little to do so. "I'm travelling, and want to take a look at a world and/or regional map. I was told you might have one?" she questioned.

"We should do, somewhere." one of the pair replied. He began looking through various bits of paper. "Any regions in particular you need a map of?"
