"Absolutely. It's a profession that's healthy for the mind and body. Most of the time it can be a grind and frustrating. Results from science aren't typically perfect and it make one feel tiresome. But that's only because nature is hard to examine. But if science won't do it, who will?"

Aqua saw the incoming ship, but not the person standing on the mast. "They're here! Everyone, prepare yourselves!"

 

[Chungus]

"The area is unstable, then. I see," Timea commented. After looking over the map map a couple of times more, Timea turned the map at angle to both the man and herself could see it. "Are these the only two settlements on Calibeth? Or are there others, but simple too small to be noted, here? And... " she began to ask, but trailed off at the end of the sentence. Squinting her eyes, Timea slowly continued, "Ca.... Cal...? Calibeth City... That's the capitol, I assume?"

Once she got the word out of her mouth, Timea's facial expression returned to normal, and she looked to the man again.

Magic Eye turned in the direction of the ship Aqua was referring to.
Zooming in and identifying.

Robin looked up, spotting the ship. He walked to the edge of the deck to get a better look.

"There are other settlements, mostly small farms and the like, but some are bigger." the man responded. "These two are the most relevant to our merchants, though, so they're on the map. Palladein is the main port in the south and, like you guessed, Calibeth City is the capital."

Magic Eye would be able to see a handful of people on the top deck of the other ship, all of them unarmed. At Aqua's announcement, the mercenaries all stood up and reached for their weapons, as did Matilda.

 

[Kirke]

You are awoken from your trance after only a few minutes by Aqua's shouting. Looking around you realise battle is approaching, and you decide to move over beside Robin. Looking out across the sea, you observe the incoming ship while asking Robin if he's got a plan for the attack.

Zephy's ears twitched as she listened to Aqua for a moment. She might've brushed it off if it weren't for the fact she saw the ship. Her eyesight was actually pretty good, so she'd quirk an eyebrow toward...whatever was atop the mast. [color=46e16f] "Now... what's this...?" [/color] She'd murmur, just loud enough for the others around her to hear.

Nirvana slowly turned toward the other ship as she'd finally stop her practice. She'd be idly lighting up a cigarette and taking a small puff.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Several, but we'll see how it goes." Robin replied to Shara, then looked to the mercs. "Does this ship have anything we can use at range? Bows, cannons, magic?"

 

[Chungus]

Timea let out a soft "hmm", while giving a small nod, going back to looking to the map, looking to get a better idea of the lay of the land. She primarily looked for river systems, lakes, and mountain rangers, but would also note the location of grasslands, woodlands and the like, if these were shown on the map. "Could you tell me a little about the climate in Calibeth? Where is it warm, where cold?" she asked while looking the map over. "Earlier, I saw people from the north, pale as death. So I assume that area is ever so cold... ."

 

[Slenn]

"I count a sizable amount people on the ship. All unarmed."

"Unarmed? It's a trick. Don't trust them." Aqua said as she summoned her mace.

Timea would see a river heading from Calibeth City, and winding through the country towards the coast, meeting the sea a little north of Palladein. At the very bottom of the map was a note stating the existence of a range of mountains, spanning the length of the region. "This part of Calibeth is almost entirely desert, with the sole exception of the capital. Further north it's almost always frozen and snowy. There's a region between those two more similar to Kaisir." the man replied.

"We have some bows inside. Our mages are really only good close-up, though." one of the sailors told Robin. As they spoke some of the mercenaries headed below deck, presumably to collect the aforementioned bows. "I've never heard of a cannon, though."

Hearing Zephyra's comment, a few of the mercenaries followed her gaze. One of them looked over at Aqua and said, "It's not a trick, it's a precaution. Look up."

Aqua looked at whatever was on the mast. "I see it, but I don't understand. A precaution against what?" She asked the sailor.

 

[Silence]

As the ship approached, Speedy got excited. He jumped into the air and started the jetpack, forgetting to give out a warning for the loud BANG.

Then he flew on top of the crow's nest again, glancing over the water, to the other ship, but concentrating on what was talked about below, on deck.

Zephy looked back toward the other mercenaries, quirking an eyebrow. [color=46e16f] "A sign of nonaggression, I presume? " [/color] She'd wince a bit as Speedy let off another BANG before sighing and calming herself down a bit.

 

[Chungus]

Timea didn't immediately respond to the man, instead taking a couple of times to read over the note. When finished, Timea looked back up to the man, and gave a small smile. "Ah, I'll be happy to get back to a desert~"

With every feature of the map memorized, Timea folded the map back up, and held it out for the man to take back, while saying, "Okay. Two more questions. First, I've heard large wildlife dwells in this southern region. Could you tell me what to expect from that?"

 

[Kirke]

You grunt in response to Robin, then listen to the mercs speaking to Aqua. You look at the figure on top of the mast, just barely making him out. [color=0066cc]"[small]Why would anybody stand up there when they're about to start fighting?[/small]"[/color] - You ask to yourself, trying to make sense of it.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Have the archers on deck and ready to fire on the enemy. Can this ship stay away from theirs?"

 

[Outisakanobody]

Homer and Jane both stand up and look at the ship. "Wish Oscar was here. He could pick these bastards off no problem." Jane commented as she crouched behind the rail she had been sitting against.

Homer tried to determine if the ship was in his rifle range.
