[Chungus]

Not seeing anything out of the ordinary in Candace, Kuki stopped their analysis, wondering if something was lost in translation.

"You haven't displayed any of the qualities a leader should have. I'm sorry, but... I don't think you're fit for the position"

, Kuki commented, a bit more careful in their wording.

Seeing Ella taking note of the report, Kuki looked to them, and asked,

"is anything wrong, Ella?"

then moved back to the bowl, and resumed eating, keeping an eye on Ella.

 

[Vakra jal]

"I'll be outside, waiting." Dalahar said,eyeing the door frame. He sighed

Candace was about to respond to Anik when she notice Ella's reactions. She looked towards the cop. "What's wrong?"

 

[Kirke]

"An explosion occurred in traffic, apparently. It's just a hunch, but I bet it is related to the burning man. I'll check the police radio." She quickly headed to her room, donning her armour and activating the radio. She placed the earpiece in and started listening as she walked back down.

 

[Chungus]

Kuki watched quizzically as Ella walked off, though didn't stop eating, or turn their head. They did wonder if her hunch was right. Momentarily stopped with eating, Kuki looked up to Fernand, and asked,

"Is the place where this incident happened close to where we are, now?"

After asking, they resumed their meal, once more.

 

[Vakra jal]

Dalahar keyed his vox into the frequency he shared with Ella. "Anything I should know" he voxed. His autosenses had picked up expedited movement and be he wondered what had happened

"If it is another, what shall we do?" Candace asked.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

The area where the explosion had occurred, Fernand might be aware, was relatively far from the hotel.

Listening in on the police radio would lead to Ella learning that the police had found no obvious cause of the explosion, though they had found what appeared to be the source.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 2nd, 2025
- Hotel -​

Fernand relayed the information to Kuki. Anik therefore said:

"Unless we can get some other information, I would doubt that we could inspect the place where the inspection happened. Maybe they even cleaned up by now.

Might be Ella has some more information, though. I let Kuki decide if he rather wants to go sightseeing now, or go after the mystery more."

 

[Chungus]

"Right"

, Kuki responded on Fernand relaying how far away the incident occurred. They wondered again if this incident was related to the Mr.Hotheads, not knowing road rage was a thing, and so thinking a link was increasingly unlikely.

Once Anik suggested they make the decision, Kuki stopped eating for a moment, thinking on what to do.

"Well... "

, they began, then paused.

"I'm really not sure this case has anything to do with the others. But even if it is, I agree that it would be handled by the people who're supposed to deal with this, if not, when we get there. So, if I get to decide, I'd say we go to the tourist hotspot."

 

[Kirke]

Ella set the police radio to listen only, opening the Dalahar's channel and responding; "An explosion has occurred on a road in the city, I was worried that it might be related to the burning man. I'm listening in on police radio now to get more info." She then walked into the breakfast room and looked at the T.V.

Candace stayed quiet, but disagreed with Kuki's assessment.

 

[Vakra jal]

"Keep me posted." He voxed "I can carry you there swiftly if needed"

 

[ShindoL Shill]

Ella would see, on the TV, a shot of traffic from above. The area that was being focused on was scorched, with the damage mainly centred around one car, and getting less severe further from it. Some fires were still burning, though they had began to die down by this point.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Candace looked at the TV. "Is that... What is that picture? Is it hat the explosion that was mentioned, happening right now?"

 

[Silence]

- Hotel -​

Fernand said to Candace: "Yes, this is what is happening right now. Unluck ... Luckily they probably did not film the explosion itself.
... wait, did they?" He had turned to Ellie with the last question.

"We can go to the tourist stuff whenever you are ready." Anik stated, not in the mood to watch TV.

 

[Chungus]

Finishing the last bits of their meal, Kuki had the organ move back into their mouth, then stood up, shaking their body a little. As Candace mentioned what was happening on the Tv, Kuki looked to her, then to the direction she was looking to, but couldn't make anything out.

"I'm ready, Anik"

, Kuki stated, moving closer to where Anik sat, then looked around the room.

"Is everyone agreed on the choice, though?"

 

[Kirke]

Ella grimaced and replied to Candace; "The explosion itself has already happened, but this is pretty much a live feed." - She then looked to Fernand and said; "Probably not, which is a damn shame. Nasty as it is, you can tell a lot from how something explodes." She absent-mindedly responded to Anik that she was ready whenever, but she kept looking at the T.V. and had sharpened her ears for information over the radio.

Cars don't just explode, and this doesn't look like an accident. So, murder, terrorist attack or magic. Magic seems the least likely, but with the way burning man died it can't be overlooked as a possibility. Probably not a terrorist attack, it isn't in a particularly important time or place. Sure, rush hour but they're all in cars protected behind metal and glass. No, it's probably murder so who was in that car? Who's worth silencing so dramatically? Could it be terror aimed at a specific group? 'This is what we can do'? Damn, whatever it is I can't justify running off to take control, because that could easily be Earth handiwork.

"You can tour. I want to look at this." Candace told Anik, draining the last of her tea and standing.

 

[Slenn]

Shana had eaten her fill of eggs, cheese, and sausage for breakfast. She really liked her protein.

"I guess I could help either way. Investigate a crime scene or explore the city some more... maybe I can use my senses to help pick up the trail of the crime. I'll go with the former."
