Like Anik, Kuki sighed as the three entered the maple forest section of the dome.

"That's better... . I was close to shedding my winter coat again!"

they said, half jokingly.

Kuki looked around the new area with as much interest as in the last.

"This place is so different from the last one... , it's almost like stepping onto a new world"

, they said, speaking a bit slowly.

"It's nothing like we have at home, that's for sure! I've never seen anything that flies before."

 

[Silence]

"Me neither." Anik joked. "But at least I heard it - and flew myself.
This is what's truly amazing about this world. Not ... whatever a city is, with its stinking automobiles, and stinking garbage, and stinking humans, and far too many people in one place ... kinda ironic that they need to build a miniature version of the nature around them inside the city. But maybe it's for the best. That way people aren't as likely to destroy more nature ...
but at the same time, they imprison animals here.

... I don't know. I hope they are at least happy."

Montreal Biodome

As the group made their way through the biodome, they (with the obvious exception of Anik) might spot two figures wearing black, form-fitting, armour-plated suits with helmets which had visors that extended all the way around the head, instead of just being at the front of the head. Despite being humanoid, both figures were obviously non-human, having hands with two fingers and two thumbs, and raptor-like feet.

"Living in a city isn't so bad. ... Although from what I've experienced so far, this human city does smell a lot different than ones back home, and not entirely in a good way. Still, though. All that's a bit too negative, don't you think?"

Kuki countered, focusing less on looking around, until a rodent caught their eye, which Kuki looked at with a

"ooh!"

, until it got out of his visual range.

"What was I saying... , oh yeah! I don't think you can call this imprisoning the wildlife, anyway. It looks like the beginning of a good conservation effort, to me!"

Seeing the two armoured figures, Kuki cocked their head, then asked,

"by the way, can we stop for a moment? I want to take a look at something.

 

[Furioso]

Yuri, who had been just kinda following along with the group who headed to the crime scene, walked up to the cop. "Someone must have seen something. If it was the same guy as before he probably got into a fight with someone, people must have seen that.'

"I doubt you understand ... there were older beings, and they had to give up everything. And this is just the result of that. But ... I don't want to be too gloomy." Anik responded, before Kuki continued. She sounded weird, answering: "If only they could do that without imprisonment. And yes, it's that. Even if it is a conservation effort."

When Kuki cocked their head, Fernand stopped, saw the two aliens as well. "Sure, we can." he said, then described them to Anik. "Huh." she said. "Can you tell us more about them, Kuki?"

 

[Drakmorg]

[color=ff9966]"Nothing."[/color] Nina nonchalantly replied as she glanced away, pretending to be looking at something else.

Their attention taken up by the aliens, Kuki held off on arguing Anik's earlier points, instead focusing on the two, training their vision on them.

"Taking a looook... , now!"

Kuki said to Anik, beginning to analyse the two aliens' physiology.

Since the armour that both aliens were wearing wasn't very thick, Kuki would likely have no difficulty seeing through it. Underneath, the aliens had a hard exoskeleton consisting of scale-like plates, segmented to not restrict mobility. Beneath was a layer of fairly tough skin, and under that was muscle, fat and an endoskeleton that would seem less tough than the exoskeleton, though not by much. Finally, the claws on their fingers and feet consisted of a material similar to that of the exoskeleton.
The aliens' heads bore two pairs of eyes; one on the front and one on the rear of the head. The front pair were closer together, while the rear pair were further apart, like a prey animal's would be. Kuki might be able to identify that their colour-vision was mainly in the blue and green range of the spectrum. Finally, their eyes had two sets of lids; one was similar to a polarised lens and the other was made of the same material as the exoskeleton.
The aliens had no external ears or nose, or any external genitalia leading them to seem androgynous on the surface. Internally, however, Kuki would see that one was male and the other female, and might identify that they were egg-laying animals.

"No, I heard you say something. What was it?"

Nina started humming loudly and pretended not to hear what Candace said.

 

[Vakra jal]

Stooping down low Dalahar places his left hand under the front of the the transport, he then inclines his head towards the officer, waiting for the signal.

 

[Kirke]

Ella nodded to the officer and walked over to the officer in charge. Now acting more professionally, she introduced herself and explained the case she'd been working on, as well as why she thought it was related to this one.

The officer would signal to Dalahar to lift the car, and start inspecting the bottom. After finding nothing, he would indicate for Dalahar to lower the car again, and thank him for his assistance.

"So, you think this was caused by the driver catching fire for... whatever reason that these people catch fire? That would certainly explain some things." the officer Ella was speaking to replied. "What do you know about the first man who caught fire so far?"

 

[Slenn]

Shana stood patiently by Ella as she explained her side of the story.

"Oh now that's just childish." Candace sniper at Nina. She looked to the crime scene as the others went about it.

 

[Chungus]

Montreal, Biodome. March 2nd.​

"Well!"

Kuki began as they analysed the two aliens.

"On the surface, they are similar to humans, their insides end up doing the same things yours would. The blood is a bit strange, though. On the outside, though, it's pretty different! They have four eyes, but they're not really structured like the native creatures of this world. Seems to have a more limited chromatic range than the human eye, too.

They have something like a shell. And that's interesting, since they have a structure similar to a skeleton, too! It's usually one or the other. Anyway, they have no ears or nose. They have two eyelids, the inner one seeming to be made to filter light, and their reproductive organs are held internally."

Finishing their report, Kuki had the top two of their eyes return to normal, keeping the rest set to analyse things.

"Rough guess, they come from somewhere with a blue star, where there are frequent violent storms.

Wanna go ask if I'm right?

"Sure." Anik said, and pulled on Fernand's arm. He led her to the aliens, hesitantly, and let her speak.

"Hi!" Anik said to the aliens. "Are you extradimensional travelers, too?"

 

[ShindoL Shill]

The two aliens turned around towards Anik and Fernand, and said, "We are." Fernand, and possibly Anik, might note that they sounded like mid-20th century American radio presenters.

Anik did not recognize the American radio presenter style, but she at least knew what a radio was, so assumed the aliens spoke through some kind of radio device. She spoke again: "We are too! Well, aside from Fernand here. But Kuki is -" she pointed to Kuki. "And myself.

And we are interested in different cultures. I think Kuki has some questions."
