"He was a member of Earth First, and became extremely irate while talking to an extradimensional brought here by the anomaly. As he got angrier, he began to burn without noticing it himself. He started a fight with the extradimensional and was killed. Since there was only a charred corpse left and there was good video evidence of what happened, the extradimensional was not apprehended. If anything, he acted in self-defence." - Ella replied, then added; "It seems to be linked to anger. I'd bet this man got angry while in traffic."

"Hi!"

Kuki said as Anik introduced them. When Anik said they had some questions, Kuki looked up to the aliens, and said,

"that's right! Would that be okay with you two?"

After lowering the car Dalahar stood away from everything that might be important, just in case he stepped on a clue or anything. He had found the car remarkably light for its size which surprised him. Something of similar size back home would have been made out of adamantium or rockrete or maybe plasteel which would have taken a great effort for a single marine to lift

Candace got as close as she could to the police line. "I talked to this man here. He was quite angry when he went away."

"Yes, we should be able to answer your questions." one of the aliens replied.

"Okay, so anger causes them to catch fire and then explode. We'll have this guy sent to the same police station for autopsy, and we'll also check to see if he's a member of Earth First." the officer replied. "Thanks for your assistance. If anyone else shows signs of combusting, try to calm them down and bring them in so we can keep them away from people."

"Well, to begin with, where are you from, and what's it like there?"

Kuki questioned, eager to see how on the mark their guess had been.

 

[Vakra jal]

Dalahar had an idea but it would likely be shot down so he with held it. "We are done here then? And no closer to resolution?" His tone of voice a little aggressive. "No closer to a foe, no closer to anything" he said as he thudded over to Ella

"Well, we live on a colony ship that recently arrived at our universe's equivalent of Earth. It can be pretty cramped at times, but on the whole it's good enough." one responded.
The other then said, "We have biodomes like this, too. Only they're for raising animals to eat, mainly, or because the plants are sources of medicinal compounds."

Ella might recall the other burned man had a tattoo which had survived the flames.

"So, is that planet where your people originated from?"

Kuki asked, not asking what Earth was.

"And how long have you lived on this ship?"

, they continued, more questions forming in their head as soon as she had asked, but keeping themselves from bombarding the aliens with questions.

"Earth? No. This planet we're on right now is Earth. And, we've lived on it all our lives. Our species has been on the ship for a few generations now."

Montreal, Biodome. March 2nd.​

"I meant, you said the planet was the equivalent of this one. So, I was wondering if that is where your people were from!"

Kuki clarified.

"Anyway, so you don't technically have a home planet? Between the first generation to board this ship, and your generation, have there been any physiological changes, to adapt to life in deep space?"

"No, we're from a different planet." the alien replied. "And, personally, no. Species-wise, we obviously do have a home planet, though."
"We haven't had any physiological changes, as far as I'm aware. I don't think enough time has passed for significant changes to come about."

Montreal, Biodome. March 2nd.​

"I thought so. Now, I'm wondering aboutt biochemical barriers. It looks like you can breathe the air on this planet, but what about the local food and drink? Could you process this? And do you think human medicine would work on you, or your herbal medicine or that?"

Soon after asking this, Kuki looked between the two aliens, and added,

"Oh! And would either of you object to donating some tissue samples, for the purpose of research? The process is quick, non-invasive, and painless!"

"We can't breathe the local atmosphere. Our helmets are for air filtration. So it's unlikely we could eat local food."
"However," the other alien stated, "There are processes we can undergo to overcome those issues. And I don't mind donating tissue."

Ella looked up at Dalahar, frowning. She was not happy at the pace things were going, of course, but she was used to it. Police investigations usually did take far longer than anyone was happy with. "There's one other thing we'll check, during the autopsy. The first man had a tattoo, which actually partially survived the inferno. There might be a link there. But for now, yes, we are done here."

Anik listened to the dialogue, not understanding too much. She would help Kuki collect the tissue samples, but still feel uncomfortable about it. She planned to ask about Kuki's motivation, later.

Montreal, Biodome. March 2nd.​

"Thanks!"

Kuki said, excited. From their chest pouch, behind the extra-fuzzy fur, Kuki's two tendrils emerged, and began giving off the faint pink glow. Instructing Anik to hold them higher and lower as needed, Kuki began sticking the tendrils into the body of the alien volunteer, phasing straight through their suit, and matter Kuki wasn't going for, and pulling out the parts they were. The alien would feel minor and momentary discomfort, whenever a sample was removed.

"How would you overcome the biochemical barriers, though?"

Kuki asked as they worked, storing the samples they removed as data, before moving to take other forms of tissue.

"Years ago, we encountered an alien race with remarkable abilities to recover from injury. There blood is usable in a fairly simple process of genetic manipulation, as long as there is source DNA. So, I could combine it with a human stomach to allow my digestive tract to handle human food. At least, that's the gist of it." the alien explained.

"Well, in that case, maybe try finding Earth First members who might know these two. And if they know where they got the tattoos, check it out." the officer replied.

 

[Vakra jal]

"Very well" he said, calming himself. He never thought he could miss constant action as much as he did. He remembered being tired of it all actually

"Wow! I thought my kind were the only ones who could do something like that!"

Kuki said, shaking, giddy with excitement. They had to pull back their tendrils to avoid making a mistake, and damaging the alien volunteer's insides.

"What was the species called? Do they still exist? If so, where do they live?"
