Putting away the datapad, Ella replied; "That is what I am investigating. He burnt to death, I can say that much." She paused, looking at the two and trying to feel them out before continuing; "During the autopsy we discovered traces of tattoo ink. Now, ordinary tattoo ink would have been evaporated by the fire, so is there something special about the ink you use here?"

"He eaks to animals?" Candace asked Raz.

The owner looked a little startled, but the employee didn't seem to be surprised. "I make my own ink. It's pretty unique." he said. "So it should be able to survive fire."

Raz gave Dalahar a quizzical look, wondering why he wasn't responding and was only shifting around. Turning back to Kuki, he said "...This planet? You mean Earth? I was always here. Well, not in Canada, but on Earth." Raz shrugged at Candace "He says he does. I don't know if I believe him, but I'm not gonna mess with him either."

"Most of us are from different planets. Or, to be more precise, whole different universes. This place is called Earth, too, but all things considered, you could be in the same boat. Parallel universes do exist, this could not be the Earth you know"

"Does commercial inter-dimensional travel exist on your world?"

"Why do you make your own ink? And what is so unique about it?" - Ella asked. She was beginning to feel like she had her culprit, but the evidence was not nearly enough for an arrest.

The owner was visibly stunned and confused, as the man said, "It's a family secret."

She looked at the pamphlet she had been handed and started reading through it.

"This is terra where I come from" Dalahar said breaking his silence "to the east should be the atlantican desert whereas we should be in the steppes of Merica, there should be hove cities for miles, ruins of the techno barbarians"

"I would not trust him either..." Candace stated. She looked to Tresh. "Wait, you've been to this world? Or some other version of it?"

 

[Furioso]

Raz eyes widened when Kuki told him about the different universes. "I'm in another dimension? That's so cool! Aw wait till I tell the other Psychonauts! We don't have anything like that... well, we do go inside other peoples minds. I guess that's like going into another world."

Inside the pamphlet, Nina could read: "You were born with a special gift. But the people around you treat it like a curse. Your mother is afraid of you, and your father looks at you with shame in his eyes. Come to Whispering Rock Psychic Summer camp, and you can show them all! Back home your powers make you a loner, an outcast. But in this dojo, in this Psychic dojo, they make you A HERO!"

The text was broken up with pictures of various fun psychic camp activities, such as paddling a canoe with mind powers, starting a campfire using mind powers, arts 'n crafts, and more.

"It's super awesome!" said Raz excitedly back to Nina.

Raz laughed when Dalahar spoke. "I still have no clue what you're talking about. Techno barbarians sounds like a sweet band name though."

Ella leaned forward and stared at the employee, replying: "I'm not asking you to divulge the recipe for it. Why do you use it? What makes it so unique?"

"You... Explore the minds of others?" Candace asked.

"In my universe this is Terra" Dalahar said "the Jewel of the imperium, cradle of man. The emperor was born here and he created the legions here and forged forth into the night. Here is where mankind started." He looked at Candace "never been to Terra myself, always with the crusade. This was the end goal, to reach terra and win the rebellion by tearing down the imperial palace"

"Well, that might take a while. From what I've heard, locating someone's universe of origin takes at least a couple of days."

, Kuki said, keeping it brief, more interested to talk about Raz's mind powers.

"How do you do that, though? "go inside other people's minds"? Is it like some sort of brain scan?"

"I'm here now" Dalahar repeated "but there's no palace, no legion at my back, it's not the same and I know that"

"Of course I go inside other peoples minds! It's the main battlefield of the Psychonauts! We use these..." said Raz as he searched his backpack. "...these...these... hey where did it go? Has anyone seen a Psycho-Portal anywhere? It looks like a tiny doorway, about the size of a hand." If anyone looked, they would not be able to find it.

The man stared up at Ella and said, "I think you already know why. Take a little guess."

Fernand looked around.
"I don't see one." he said.

He then turned to Dalahar. "Say, were you banished from your universe? What would happen if you went back?"
