After entering the office and closing the door behind them, Ella suggested that they sit down. She then sat down herself and looked the employee dead in the eyes. "Sir, I am sad to say that your friend probably died yesterday." - She said, mentally preparing herself for the response.

The employee didn't seem to react at first, then after a pause asked, "What do you mean 'probably'? How do you think he died?"

 

[Furioso]

Raz crossed his arms proudly as he replied to Candace. "Sure am!" Looking at Kuki, he exclaimed "Hey there Kuki, are you like one of those psychic animals we have back at the camp?" Smiling at Nina's enthusiasm, he handed her a pamphlet. "Naw I can't see the future, but I can do lots of other cool stuff, like this!" said Raz excitedly as he held a hand to his head. As he did so a giant glowing orange ethereal hand appeared over a trash can next to the group, picking it up and holding it in the air.

"Astounding..." Candace remarked. "You are but a child, but you can do this..."

 

[Vakra jal]

"Pysker?!" Dalahar exclaimed in suprise. "There are those with similar abilities where I come from"

"Right"

, Kuki said as Dalahar said he was listening in, wondering how he was doing this, but deciding to add this to the list of questions they had for him, to ask later. Asking now, they figured, could hinder Dalahar's efforts.

When Raz spoke to them, Kuki turned their head to them.

"I don't know what psychic is, so probably no--"

they began answering, but cut themselves off as they noticed Raz demonstrating one of this powers.

"... How?"

was all they could ask on seeing the display.

 

[Slenn]

"Were you born with these abilities, Raz? I will say for the record that I am familiar with psychics in the universe where I'm from. But they have electronics on them that enhance their mental capacity such that they can have powers of future sight and reach out to other people's minds. They aren't necessarily born with them."

 

[Vakra jal]

"I can't imagine an enhanced psyker" Dalahar said to Shana "in my universe their powers and abilities are great and terrible to behold, the price is very high and the risks are great"

 

[Furioso]

"Hey! Don't underestimate me because of my age, I'm already a fully fledged Psychonaut ...as of a week ago at least, but it still counts!" said Raz to Candace. Addressing Dalahar, he said "So psyker is slang for psychic?" he asked. Turning back to Kuki, he said "A psychic person is, well, the short version is I have mind powers. Probably good that you aren't like the psychic animals from camp. Those things are jerks..." Raz nodded at Shana "Yep, it runs in the family. No special equipment required... except for this one kid at camp, Dogen. He has to wear a tin foil hat, he, uh, I guess he made some peoples heads explode."

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Well then, you must be quite skillwaitwhatwasthataboutheadsexploding?!" Candace asked, panicked.

OoC: Gotta go, food.

 

[Kirke]

"Yesterday, a person was killed by the interdimensional port. The cause of death made identification difficult. Still, from a recording of the event we were able to almost certainly his identity as that of your friend. If you feel that you are able, it would be good if you could help us confirm who he is." Ella said, avoiding the question about how he died, for now.

The employee stood up and said, "I think I can do that. Lead the way." Ella might note that he didn't seem to be reacting at all.

"But, how did you do that?"

Kuki questioned, looking to the ethereal hand for a moment longer, then back to Raz. On doing this, Kuki had their special lenses form in their eyes, and began analysing their physiology to see what it was like. They were particularly interested to see if Raz's power was tied to their physiology in some way.

 

[Kirke]

"No need to move anywhere. I have the recording on my 'pad. Just give me a moment." - Ella said, taking out the datapad and opening the recording that Ed had given her. Pausing it at the very beginning, at the first clear look of the man's face, she turned it around for the employee to look at. She did notice how little care the employee seemed to have, wondering to herself if this was due to shock - or something more nefarious.

"The slang is a lot less flattering" he said "psyker is the catch all term for any human or xenos that can consciously draw power from the warp, the other dimension back home. Psyker powers manifest differently in each individual: pyromancy, biomancy, telepathy, telekinesis, divination, daemonology and more that the xenos alone specialise in."

The man looked closely, then said, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's Alex. So, what exactly happened to him?"

 

[Furioso]

Raz scratched the back of his head. "Dogen is a little bit weird. He says the squirrels keep telling him lies, and then he blows them up. I hope he keeps that tinfoil hat on." Raz thought for a moment about Kuki's question, and then set the trash can down. "How do I do it? That's kind of hard to explain, I just need to focus on what I need to do, like picking up the trash can. I had to learn how to do most of this, but its easier to teach this stuff to someone when they already kinda know the basics." Kuki would detect that Raz's brain activity sharply increased when using his powers. Responding to Dalahar, Raz said "Oh I have telekinesis, telepathy, and other stuff. I can do pyrokinesis, if that's close to pyromancy. Agent Cruller says I'm only supposed to use that one when it's really important, or when it's really entertaining."

 

[Vakra jal]

Dalahar becomes uneasy upon learning Raz is a telepath. He didn't want someone poking through his mind. He shifts the position of his volkite charger, holding it ever so slightly closer to his chest.

 

[Vakra jal]

He will reveal our secrets Dalahar, reveal your inner and closely guarded thoughts. What you've done, we've done. He will see your true nature that you so desperately deny. Hehehe. Decisions decisions. How long can our charade last? How long can you pretend to be a decent person?

Dalahar shudders at the touch of Kyrys, the daemon having remained dormant for a long period of time now.

"How... unusual"

, Kuki mused, reading the changes in brain activity, not sure how it related to the manifestation of powers, but very curious about it. Having seen enough for now, Kuki stopped the analysis, their eyes returning to normal.

"... But it's very neat!"

"I'm wondering, though. These abilities of yours, or someone else at this camp you were at; could they have had anything to do with how you ended up on this planet?"

Kuki didn't know what the list of abilities Raz mentioned were, so didn't have much of a reaction to them, other than wondering if the words that were translated like "tele" and "pyro" were any indication of what the abilities did.
