Shana sat down next to the rest of the group, downing her iced tea and listening in on the discussion of magic. The short sword Dalahar gave her was in her satchel.

"I see. That's what we classify as Class 1 magic, back home"

, Kuki said, then were quiet for a moment as they thought it was funny to hear something that was mundane in one world, was a prized possession in others.

"Maybe they have something like this in one of the extradimensional communities, here. Me, Anik and Fernand are going to visit one, tomorrow. Would you like to come along?"

As always, Kuki didn't register tone of voice. Without looking to Candace to interpret what mood was behind words, it came across as just neutral, matter-of-factly to them.

As Raz spoke, Kuki glanced towards them, answering;

"Where I'm from, it's up for debate. No one can really agree on what magic is supposed to be, and what it counts as it, and what doesn't. Your abilities would probably be classified as magic, for example."

"I like the sound of that. Perhaps it will help."

"If nothing else, it'll be fun!"

Kuki said, looking away from Raz after addressing him, and standing up, turning to Candace, but not looking up towards her. They were quiet for a moment, thinking of something.

"Hey! In the mean time, if you'd like, I could see if I can give you an enhancement. It's not magic, but you can argue the means of delivery would be"

, Kuki suggested.

"I could treat your achromia, too, if you want."

"...enhancement? What?" Candace looked confused and slightly scared.

 

[Furioso]

Raz nodded to Kuki. "Gotcha... it's still cool though."

 

[Drakmorg]

By the time they had reached the hotel, Nina looked utterly exhausted. She had simply found a place to sit as soon as possible, then seemed to just pass out.

"Yes, you can." Anik said. "I hope you can help me feel better."

"Don't worry, I won't make you grow a couple of new ears!"

Kuki joked, looking back down again.

"It would just be a simple procedure, which would result in you recovering from injuries quicker, and being more resistant to radiation. Neither of these things are very extreme, but it'll probably still come in handy."

Kuki assumed what Candace knew what radiation was, and so didn't explain this.

Dalahar was unable to fit inside one more. He felt like he deserved to be outside, to be seperate from Norma people.

"What's radiation?" Candace asked.

"Right. I'll be there soon." Lambda hung up, then stood.

Kuki looked up to Candace, a bit taken aback by her question.

"It comes in the form of particles, or waves, and it's all around us, at all times. The light you see, for instance. But the kind I'm talking about here, is the high-energy kind, coming in forms you can't see. For example; You've probably been burned after being exposed to starlight? That's because a form of radiation called ultraviolet rays damage the cells in your skin"

, Kuki explained.

"Is it dangerous?" Candace asked, covering herself.

Having relinquished his power dagger to Shana. Dalahar's melee Arsenal was now reduced his Anathame and a standard combat dagger. He's not used the dagger since had a power version but with that gone he had to resort to the standard issue combat blade. He began practicing again, to get used the longer, one sided blade. It was a simple weapon with a square Hand guard and a heavy blade. The power dagger had been master crafted and was a work of art in its creation, balance and sharpness. All of that before the power field that could sheath it in a field of energy so it could slice through near enough anything.

"Well, mild exposure to starlight makes your body produce vitamin D, a compound you need to stay healthy, and which you can't really get through food"

Kuki began to explain, probably confusingly, as the word "sun" didn't appear in their translator's dictionary.

"But too much of it, and then, yes, it is."

Excessive exposure may damage the cells too much, and this can lead to skin cancer. Eyes can also be damaged, potentially permanently, which is why you should never directly look at a local star without protection. Or even its reflection.

But, that is, in most people. In your case, due to your condition, you're extra susceptible to these types of rays, because you have next-to-no melanin; that is, the compound that gives skin, hair and eyes their tint, and offers some protection against UV rays.

After explaining this, Kuki paused, looking a little puzzled.

"Haven't you been told any of this?"

 

[Silence]

White stood as well, and asked Lambda if it was time to go.
"Before we get inside, I need a bit of time to prepare." she said, after. "Point out to me which building it is, and then wait until I'm ready before going inside."

"I know I should stay out of the sun, but it's rather unavoidable where I travel."

"Right. Ready to go."

"If you insist on being out in the sun, then the treatment and/or enhancement produce will definitely be useful to you!"

Kuki commented.

"Although treatment will probably take some two weeks or so before you start seeing effects. I don't offer the service for free, and will expect a favour in return, but it won't be anything major.

So, are you interested?"

White and Lambda would travel to the Hotel, arriving near it, and spotting Dalahar.

"Who is that?" White asked Lambda.

"...what is this favour?" Candace asked warily.

"Hello Dalahar." Lambda greeted him, smiling, then looked to Ms White. "Another patient of mine."y
