"First, I would need to take some tissue samples from you, to scan into my computer. I would then run a simulation to see where to work in the genes responsible for this increased healing and resistance into your DNA. DNA is, by the way, like a strand of instructions that tells the larger structure it's part of what it's supposed to do. Once that is done, I'll run a second simulation to check this edit won't yield any adverse affect some point down the line"
"I expect all of this to take about an hour. Once that is done, the editing begins. Put simply, this is done by taking a protein, and providing it with the information that tells your body how to handle cell repair. This is then introduced into your body, in more or less the reverse way I'd use to take samples. The protein then finds the sequence, and remove it, cutting it out of the strand. Then, I introduce the new sequence into the gap, and that's it. From that point onwards, you'll repair damage, faster."
"Even if it will help? Why?"
"This seems so very strange to me. My people change ourselves all the time. If something doesn't work, or doesn't work as well as it could, why swap it out for something better?"
"Well, either way, I'm not going to talk you into this. If you change your mind, though, or just want the treatment, just say the word."
