[Kirke]

"You can't leave? Then please get on the ground and place your hands on your back." - Ella said. She did not quite expect White to submit so easily, but procedure was procedure. And without it, was she really any better than the woman who stood before her?

 

[Slenn]

"I do not think I can do that, sorry." She chuckled, keeping her volume low. "I can sprint quite well, though."

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 2nd, 2025
- Hotel -​

"No. I'm sorry. I can't go against the emperor's orders!" White said, started running, and leapt into the air as soon as it was possible, her wings getting visible again, and unfolding.
"Incapacitate them!" she ordered her soldiers.

The soldiers held up their shields, and got ready to get into some kind of small turtle position.

The first angel threw their spear directly at Dalahar.

White began chanting something, and white energy seemed to flow from her fingers to the soldiers and angels.

[hr]

Anik slowly calmed down. "It's ..."

She heard the commotion outside. "It's my fault." She began shaking, and stopped talking.

 

[Chungus]

Montreal: ED Shelter, corridor​

"That won't be doing much good here, where there's nowhere to run"

, Kuki commented, picking up on Ella talking to White, but not the combat that ensued, afterwards.

"I think it would still be better to head upstairs, into one of the rooms. If we head to the basement, we'll be trapped if whoever is outside get through.

Can you carry me? You move faster than me, either way."

 

[Vakra jal]

Dalahar rolled in a split second, drawing his pistol and blade as he stood up and began firing at the Angel up high. Depleted uranium bolts sailing from the pistol, mass reactive and powerful. Sword soldiers could wait as they weren't near him. "ENGAGING," he bellowed

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Lambda stayed with Anik, trying to ignore the fighting. "Anik, this woman started the fifhgt, not you."

Candace, seeing combat against angels, ran out. "What is going on here?" she asked, drawing her blade.

 

[Kirke]

Ella pulled up her blaster rifle and ran up to the side of the door, then glanced over at Anik and Lambda. "Get to cover! Now!" - She yelled as she primed the rifle for a stun shot. She turned and aimed up at White through the door. With a crack of thunder that made Ella's ears ring, the blue bolt shot up towards White.

 

[Slenn]

"Absolutely. I'll go ahead and find some stairs." She picked up Kuki, and sprinted for a flight of stairs in the hotel.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 2nd, 2025
- Hotel -​

The angel Dalahar shot at tried to dodge, but was hit by a bolt. Starting to tumble, she suddenly stopped in the air, and flew up again.
On the roof, mostly out of vision, the other angel had cast something.

The soldiers, seeing Dalahar as the greatest threat, made their way to him.

White was seemingly hit by Ella's blaster shot, but, as the dust settled, she could she a dent in the white energy around her, but no damage on White herself. She flew higher, then continued her chant, which had been stopped by the hit.

"But she is after me ..." Anik said. "For my past, it gets back to me for what I've done."

As Ella called for them to get to cover, Anik got on the ground, but had, for obvious reasons, difficulty knowing where good cover was.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Lambda found some better cover, hiding behind the front desk, pulling Anik behind it as well.

Candace, seeing she was fighting divinity, drew her pistol and stood by, looking unsure of what to do or if she should even fight.

 

[Kirke]

"Non-lethal fire ineffectual! Switching to lethal. Careful Dalahar, they've got magic. Candace, get back and take cover! - She barked out as she switched to full power, and then stepped outside to get line of sight on White. She fired again, and this time a fiery orange bolt of plasma shot out, leaving a faint trail as it roared up in the air.

 

[Vakra jal]

"ELLA, KEEP THE OTHERS INSIDE AND STAY TOGETHER, FOCUS ON THE ONES IN THE AIR." His voice roared with power and determination. Much quieter but still loud he growled "These ones are mine!" He began charging at the soldiers, aiming to split their formation apart with his mass. With a roaring battle cry he tossed himself shoulder first st the angelic soldiers. He picked up some speed during his charge, the distance not enough for him to reach full pelt but still enough to turn him into a battering ram of ceramite. He needed to save his bolt pistol rounds as they were extremely effective against soft targets and had so holstered the pistol for his charge.

Oh how his blood sang in this moment

 

[Drakmorg]

The commotion caused Nina to wake up. She sat up and yawned, either not seeming aware of what all was going on, or just not being disturbed too much by it.

 

[Slenn]

"Did you have a room in mind, Kuki?" She asked as she darted up the stairs.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 2nd, 2025
- Hotel -​

Now being able to look at the field, and seeing the shot coming, White was able to cross her arms on her chest, casting a protective spell which did a similar dent into the white energy around her.
Onlookers might notice that most of the energy seemed to go upwards from the ground, swirling around, but mainly being absorbed by white.

The soldiers, seeing Dalahar charge, split up before he could ram them, clearly showing intelligence on their own. They closed ranks immediately after he went past, then moved close to him again.

The first angel started chanting, and a new spear of light appeared in her hands.

The second angel, still on the roof, threw his spear down on Dalahar, as he had no vision on Ella.

Nobody paid any attention to Candace.

 

[Chungus]

Montreal: ED Shelter, stairwell​

"I don't think there are rooms without a window, so... "

, Kuki answered, trailing off as they thought.

"Maybe the last room in the hall? If we hide there, you'll be able to hear them coming, and have a few extra seconds to plan.

I'll need you to keep me informed about what's happening, though! I can't pick up on any sounds, other than speech."

 

[Kirke]

Ella cursed, and quickly changed to an emergency radio channel to the ETR squad on stand-by; "Hostile EDs attacking hotel! Magic users! Need back-up ASAP!" While waiting for a response she fired another blast, this time at the first angel.

 

[Vakra jal]

Dalahars momentum was intense and there for he was off balance as he sailed past the soldiers. He slammed his foot into the ground, causing it to shake as he wheeled around to face them once more. As long as these soldier couldn't close with anyone in the building that was the best situation. At the the last minute he noticed the spear roaring towards him. Not feeling like testing his power armour today he aimed a backhand to intercept the flat of the spears head and knock it aside while bracing himself for the shield bearing foes to close on him.

Lambda noticed Nina waking up, and went to the girl, grabbing her and dragging her behind the same cover. "Are you alright Nina?"

Hearing Ella's cry for help, Candace fired on the same angel as she did, though her revolver was quite primitive in comparison.

 

[Slenn]

Shana went for the, presumably, unlocked door that Kuki was referring to.

"I can certainly use my hearing to help out."

She went into the room, and bolted the door shut.

"There. Do you need the window open?"
