The conversation between Ella and Blue had been recorded by the spybot that was facing the entrance of the port, relaying the topic to the nebulous entity, through the Watcher. The entity was interested to see how the situation would develop, and debated if increasing their network in the area could be worthwhile.

Waltham, Massachusetts. Noon. March 4th.
A little past 12 PM in Waltham. Nine more rifts appeared along Totten Pond Road. One more where the road came out at Lexington Street, four along Lincoln Street, and two along Blossom Street. Later during the day, reports came in of at least five confirmed rifts in forested areas, although it was anyone's guess how long they had been there.
While the local police worked to cordon off the sites of the rifts as they emerged, the public had begun to worry. With this, the police could no longer afford to keep the public uninformed. Aired in the midday news, the police chief released a press conference wherein he stated the occurrence was being investigated, although that no information regarding the cause or nature of the rifts was available. He closed by saying that although the rifts didn't seem to be dangerous, one should keep their distance from them, and report new rifts.

It was afternoon when White's remains were brought to the portal station. Red, Blue, Green and Black all were there, looking over the exchange. For once, they all were silent, only Black clenched his fists.
White's remains would be brought through the portal to her homeworld. Servants would take her, while Krovis and the other white woman were looking.
Blue waited in the portal room, while Red, Black and Green went through for some time, to witness the burial of White. Then they came back. Green thanked the ones responsible, Black still kept silent. Red seemed in thought. [color=e50000]"... I don't understand why she was killed."[/color] she stated after a while. "It's simple enough. The people from this world do not know of honour."
[color=e50000]"No ... something isn't right. But we can look at that later, we have other business."[/color]
"Indeed." Black said, and Green nodded. "A lot to take care of."
Blue smirked.
Montreal, Portal Station - March 4th, Afternoon
Ella explained what had happened inside, then she and Dalahar left the area. The ETR squad returned to the police station where they were based. Ella also called her superior, and relayed what had been said and done. She was commended for not arresting Blue, and the superintendent agreed to request constant surveillance of the portal station. That included requesting access to the camera feeds inside the portal station.However, all the actual surveillance and monitoring would have to be done by the local police, since XPOL could not spare anyone to do it. That, unfortunately, slowed the process down. But the superintendent did his best to get the surveillance started the same day, at least using the camera feeds.

Waltham, Massachusetts - March 4th, Afternoon
The XPOL agent, a man called Carl Haussman, arrived in his service car at the police station. He walked inside, introduced himself and explained why he was there.

After Haussman explained why he came, the receptionist gave a nod, standing up. She told Haussman she would get the officer leading the case, then walked off.
A minute later, the receptionist returned, accompanied by a man in his early forties. The man gave Haussman a small, weary smile, approaching him. "Glad your here", the man began, holding out his hand to Haussman. "Sergeant Leonard Stravich."

"Well, I asked if the incident caused harm or compelled him to commit crime, and he said no." the guard said, indicating Kuki with his hand.

After shaking Haussman's hand, Stravich turned, and began walking further into the precinct, motioning for Haussman to follow. "How much do you know about the situation we're having here?" he asked as the two walked down the hallway.

Haussman followed Stravich and said; "Not much. XPOL's sensors could only detect that a number of rifts had opened, and I listened to the press conference while driving here. What else is there?"
Yauna would have seen back at the prison that the crows were indeed mostly magical creatures. A tiny fraction of them, the husk, was conjured from another place, but their undead life, and their other abilities were completely magical, of the necromantic kind.
