Imagine you are in an arena preparing for a battle against a enemy. What weapon would you choose and why?

Any weapon will do (Please note that this is before the invention of the gun so no gunpowder or lazers please)

Also note that you are not yourself. You are assumed to know how to use the weapon you are using and that you have the strength to wield it.

It is assumed we are on earth so no magic please or other worldly weapons.

The arena is circular and its diameter is one hundred meters

I would use a longbow because of its range and the strength behind it.

I'd go for a Katana, but I'd demand it had a hilt guard on it. Good weapon, just so long as no serious armor is being used I'd be happy.

A katana; balanced, poised and elegant.

If you are going to kill shit you may as well do it in style and in a blaze of badassary

A good knife, or a bow and arrow. I can use a bow and arrow, and a knife is pretty self explanatory.

How big is the arena? If it is really big I would go with n English Longbow, if not I would go with a Katana. If he is on a horse I would use a halberd.

That really, really, depends on my opponent's armament. An Spartan axesword, Roman box shield + gladius, Japanese katana, or English longbow could be the best depending on my opponent's equipment.

If I don't know what to expect, I'll go with the underrated box shield + longspear combination. If I know that the opponent won't have a bow, I might even go with a simple pike.

Pike>Sword

I fence, and I know that a fencer will easily lose to a guy wielding the pole we use to attach wires to the ceiling.

I would have to go with the Japanese katana or a Ninjatō.

Although a Scythe or Sickle always appealed to me so probably a Kusarigama... or a Scythe.

Probably a warhammer or maul. I favor the brutality behind heavy bludgeons, preferring to smash through bone and armor rather than just lop of limbs.

I saw the thread title, and thought of Christopher Walken.

OT: My weapon of choice would be... MY MIND.

You said it we weren't ourselves, and that it was assumed that we know how to use it.

Therefore, I can use my mind as a weapon. Would this entail mind powers or just tactical brilliance? I say both.

Crowbar. Seriously. Zombie apocalypse? I'm good with that. Robbers? M'kay. Snipers? A problem until I get behind them.

A large round shield, breastplate, and spear. Flanged mace as backup in case the spear gets broken or I have a good opportunity to throw it at a target.

Light leather armor and a Tessen with a katana as back up.
That just looks amazing and I have fast foot work.
