That's actually a good reason.

My reason for not playing ME2 (at least until it was dead cheap)?

Not being able to gay it up with Garrus.
Just go to Deviantart my friend... OH GOD WHYYYYYYYYYY!

OT: WOW because i want to know where everything is at all times, one unexplored corridor will piss me off, so games like that which have a 0% chance of finding everything turn me off. Odd because i love exploring in Fallout NV

My reasons are generally "This game's too popular." Or "the fanbase is an annoying bunch of immature idiots." This is generally only with WoW and Halo/CoD. Another one is "It's going to suck, I know it."

Not necessarily weird, but superficial: I cannot make myself play Chrono Trigger, because of the art style. I'm sure it's a classic RPG and it helped define the genre and all that other stuff that people keep on telling me about. But no - there will be no DBZ-style characters on my screen. Even if the game consists mostly of sprites.

I'm very open-minded when it comes to games...

...but for the sake of the thread, heres a quote from my friend!

"That's just plain retarded. It doesn't even have guns!"
-when asked about Amnesia:The Dark Descent

Yes, I walk in the presence of idiocy...
A friend of mine said pretty much the same thing, i was amazed at how blunt he thought a game that is meant to be scary doesn't give you a way to defend yourself except run hence making it scary.

I cannot for the life of me make it past the first area of Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl. I have an OCD need to pick up everything, then crawl back to base and sell it, and by then some more people with more heavy loot have spawned...

The reason I don't play some shooters can be because:

-Lack of weapons
-Very few weapons
-No ironsights
-Shoddy crosshairs

All post apocalyptic games are a massive turn off for me for the simple reason that I hate the idea that I'm walking around on the dead husk of human civilization, and that my character's life amounts to scavaging trash to survive. Nothing makes me want to turn the game off more than a rusty Kalashnikov and realizing my health items are stale food I found in a broken refrigerator.
I kinda feel the same way playing Fallout...Which is why I sided with the NCR in New Vegas, because they were the greatest chance of rebuilding my wasteland of a country. I do still play wasteland games tho, because laws are generally unheard of outside the few settlements in existence: I can scavenge whatever I want from all the unclaimed territories.

I avoid games where the cost of the DLC has outweighed the cost of the base game, unless I've already tried the game and thoroughly enjoyed it. Such was the case with Borderlands, FO3, and New Vegas. But most of the games which rely on huge amounts of pricey DLC are simply going for a cash-grab.

I didn't play Fallout 3 because I hated the setting.
Wow....really? The setting? Really?

OT: I couldn't stand FFXIII due to being a messy blob of fragmented story bits.
Yep. The setting added a lot to the fact that all of my experiences with the game bored me to tears.
You hate... DC?
The Fallout 3 DC, yes. I can forgive a game that with a main palette of brown and gray as long as it still has atmosphere or even a good art style, but all I could see was ruins portrayed in the most uneventful manner possible.
I can see that. Along with some inaccuracies within the city. I liked the game but after playing New Vegas the issues with the setting really do stand out a lot. New Vegas isn't perfect but they do seem to be getting better (there are colors!)

No what I said to you was in the middle of the sentence I was saying. The defend yourself part was like I never said the part in CAPS at all. A bit of a joke.

Now go play Final Fantasy 9 before I find you.

If that's your thing, I imagine it's a good enough reason.

Though Hyper-space actually touched upon one of the two reasons I couldn't play mass effect.

The other reason being my weirdest. I didn't play it because I couldn't manage to play as a character that was not hyper-masculine with either male or female. Though given the main character was in mass effect's army equivalent, I suppose that would be expected. :/
