Nightwish, Dark Passion Play tour in Circo Voador (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) 19/11/2008 (my iniciation in Metal was a bit late I'm afraid). Though I'm a bit sad that I was not able to se them with Tarja, Anette is still a great live singer, and Nightwish is a band that knows how to make a show. And at the end when they played Wish I Had An Angel... one of the most awesome moments of my life.

Bowling for Soup at the O2 academy. It was pretty damn awesome, the supporting bands were amazing and the Bowling for Soup themselves were just too good.

Alterbridge and Disturbed. It was SO AWESOME!!!!

I was going to see Story of the Year before then, but I didn't end up going. I'm glad because I ended up going with two awesomer bands.

Torhout-Werchter in '85. It's a festival. Saw The Ramones, R.E.M., U2 and Joe Cocker.

Truth be told, I was only 5 years old and had no idea what was going on. I got dragged along by my semi-hippie parents. I don't remember much about it though.

The first gig I went to myself was once again Torhout-Werchter in '97 for two days. Here are some of the bands I saw: Placebo, Skunk Anansie, David Bowie, The Chemical Brothers, Rollins Band, Daft Punk, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Supergrass, Radiohead, Jamiroquai, Smashing Pumpkins, The Prodigy, Beck, dEUS

It was hectic, tiring and inebriated, but amazing. Perhaps nostalgia is clouding my judgment, but the entirety of the summer of '97 was unforgettable.

Offspring 2005 (I think) at Brixton Academy, was pretty awesome. I've been to better since, but it was a good initiation and I enjoyed myself!

I was about 13/14, and saw Kaiser Chiefs, supported by We Are Scientists and some indie band. Needless to say my taste has changed since then (but @ that age you really went to what was near and mainstream - think it was my friend's b-day anyway). I remember KC being very good showmen, and seeing We Are Scientists as a support act wasn't bad either :).

Since I leave in Macedonia, not a lot of musicians come here, and if they do they go to Skopje (the capital). But I've had the luck of "Дојди Веслај" being held in my town. What makes it better is that it lasts for three nights, and four bands play each night. Also, the bands are exclusively Punk and Metal, from all over the country. I had great fun last August when it was held. And I can't wait for the next time it'll be held.

Iron Maiden in Oslo, 2006. Trivium was their support.

Went down with my dad, and a friend of his, and a friend of mine.

Freakin' loved it. Most memorable situation was probably when I went all out on an air guitar solo on Hallowed be thy Name, and the 40-year old guy who stood next to me joined in.

Good times!

BFMV at the Brixton Academy two years ago, got wankered beyond belief, went crowd surfing a hell of a lot, lost my shoe in the process and someone with a awesome shot managed to throw it right to me when i went over the barrier. Good times man.
I lost both shoes at Brixton Academy when I went to see NOFX. Fucking shoe-stealers!

OT: My first gig I suppose would be Power in the Park in Southampton that my sisters took me to because they lived there and it was free (I believe that it's no longer free however). The Cheeky Girls, Busted, Blazing Squad and Girls Aloud performed. Now, I dislike all of those acts but I'm very happy that I can honestly say that I've seen 2 of the biggest pop acts of the last decade (Busted and Girls Aloud) without paying a penny.

HOWEVER

My first gig that I actually wanted to go to was when I was 14 my sister took me and a few mates to go see Blink 182 at Wembley. It was their last show in England before they split up (but obviously have since regrouped. At the time I thought it was awesome. Having been to over 100 gigs since I can now look back and say that it was probably one of the worst shows I've ever been to; we were sat right at the back and could hardly see and Blink were not their usual happy, comic selves. I now realise that I much prefer smaller venues.

Frank Turner at the Leeds 02 Academy. Great times
Ha, I worked the bar when Frank Turner played Winchester guildhall last year. He was pretty awesome. He also played guitar with NOFX at Reading Festival. That was also pretty awesome.

My first gig was MUSE at the NIA in Birmingham. They were awesome, but they had The Big Pink playing warm-up, and they sucked. Muse use all these awesome lasershows, but the Big Pink just flashed a MASSIVE strobe light at the audience the entire way through their songs with no real connection to what they were singing or the tempo or anything. It really, really hurt my eyes and made some people around me feel ill. F*cking idiot Pink...

But I remember my SECOND gig, also at the NIA, even better. We saw Flight of the Conchords, which was awesome, but the Conchords did an encore (or should I say Enchord (athankoo)) and we realised we had very little time to get back to the last train departing for our hometown.

We left the gig before it concluded and walked brisky across town. Someone in our group complained we weren't going to make it in time, so I bolted.

It ended up with 10 teenagers running full-sprint down the long streets of Birmingham stopping every now and again to scream for directions at passers-by

We made it to the train...with 10 seconds left. No word of a lie : they had a little departure-time digital clock over the door. We had 10 seconds to spare. 10 seconds.

and it was awesome

I've never been :B. I don't think I like a single band enough to want that kind of experience out of them. Unless there's like a Donkey Kong Country concert.

My first was either Megadeth/Priest/Testament or Metallica, can't remember. My most recent (past couple of months) where Iron Maiden and Joe Satriani. Best live band has to Maiden.

I've only been to one gig, Jonathan Coulton live at the Shepherds Bush Empire October 30th 2008. It was kinda weird to be standing in line talking about Zero Punctuation and hearing another group doing exactly the same thing a few feet away. It was weird being somewhere were we weren't a minority and just kinda blended in with everyone else.

I saw that tour when it played at the Alexandra Palace in N.London. Joined in the mass crowd surf at the end of the Bullet set, was pretty awesome.
I saw Bodom on the Slipknot tour a year ago and while i love their music they weren't all that awesome live. May have just been because they were the first set and below Machine Head.
