I accidentally formatted my PS2's memory card once. Dozens of game saves. Gone just like that. For a few moments, my brain broke.

After finishing the story in Tales of Vesperia I began to work on all the after game stuff: level grinding, grade grinding, alternate costumes, extra story, and the ex dungeon. Later, I erase the file, I had a backup, but I lost everything I had done after the story.

Mass Effect 2.

I had the save file (about 38 or so hours long) that I was saving for when I was going to do the whole game on Insanity difficulty, but in my haste to delete a Vanguard character I had only used for achievement purposes, I deleted the 38 hour save along with the Vanguard one. Meaning I had to start all over again. The result is me still on a new playthrough which I am about 70% done with.

Back in the old days my Gameboy would die constantly before I could save. Oh, and my cousin saved over my completed Sims game one time. Not cool.

Recently though, my harddrive for my Xbox decided to corrupt. I took it all apart thinking I could somehow fix it. When it still wouldn't work, I just put it all back together and dropped it on the ground a couple times. Popped it back on my 360 and voila! Not corrupted anymore. I was lucky.

Just managed to delete a Mass Effect 1 save, and I was trying to complete the game with the
Council remains alive
ending and import into ME2. That peeved me off a little.

<color=red> I was deleting games that I have installed on my Xbox 360 and accidentally deleted all of my Mass Effect 1 files meaning save games and more. I won't be playing Mass Effect at all ever again. It is very annoying, 50 hours down the drain and it feels like a farce playing again.

How many of you have done something like this recently? I know a lot of people overwrite save files accidentally, but what was your biggest loss?
A few years ago my 100% Gran Turismo 1 save file corrupted. Along with it golds on all the license tests and a garage of 99 of the most expensive and rare cars in the game as well as the completed Arcade mode. Well, well over 200hours of play.

I cried.

I once deleted my Pokemon Gold data- I had collected every single little (and not so little) bastard out there. I think my mind broke a little back then.
Did the exactly the same thing with Silver. I was in a state of shock for about an hour...

I lost my borderlands character, he was lvl 50-something and on playthrough 2. A friend came over and wanted to do Co-op so we both started lvl 1 characters. Later after he left I went to go play the main and he was gone =( /quit

Also did Fallout 3, but that wasnt too bad because I wasn't really that far into it. about 15 hours or so I think

EDIT: Also did it with Mass Effect 1. It was a "perfect" character and was going to import to ME2 and it was gone. dont even know how it happened

Lost my Pokemon Yellow save due to my sister being a dipshit at saving games.. That was ages ago though, more recently (three years ago) I finished Pokemon Diamond and started transfering my favorite beloved Pokemon from Firered over, only to have my DS and BOTH games stolen on holiday.
