Guys, these kinds of articles need to stop.
Anonymous isn't an organization, they don't make "press releases," and they definitely are trying to fuck the WBC.

I find it rather amusing that not a fortnight ago, some friendly anonymous chaps and myself were discussing their "non" organization on another thread on these very forums, and I expressed a concern REPEATEDLY that something like this was not only capable of happening, but probably WOULD happen.

Hell for all we know, WBC might not even be faking this. It might just be some branch of "Anonymous" acting out of its own accord, since the entire group is not really a group, with no leadership, no command structure, and no way to police the use of its name, actions of its members, or escape being blamed for anything and everything.

Its only a matter of time before Anonymous falls victim to the "Al Qaeda effect", where whenever a child trips and falls and skins his knee, someone will be blaming "Anonymous" for it.

And whenever Anonymous denies involvement, people will say "how do you know?" to which the authentic members of Anonymous will reply "We... don't. Because we don't actually even fully know who is doing what at any time... since we aren't even an organization but a loose affiliation of hackers and internet users bonded in a common.. ah the hell with it, it could have been us. I mean, after that whole Justin Bieber fiasco, what the hell aren't we doing?"

And thus is the ultimate failing of Anonymous... by being "anonymous", you've robbed yourselves of the one thing you desperately need: credibility.

Honestly, it's like these people haven't bothered to read the New Testament. "God hates X" and "God despises Y" is completely missing the point. In fact it's completely counter to the point. God loves us all, no matter the flaws we have. (Important: I disagree on most points with what the WBC regards as a flaw)

As for Anonymous attacking them, I wish they would. The issue being they haven't actively done anything wrong. Spouting hate and bullshit isn't against the law. Suppressing their ability to do so is.

Well, concerning the WBC no matter what your stance on things like homosexuality, there is something inherently fucked up about telling people who are holding a funeral for the deaths of their loved ones that their death was the will of god because they were gay.
As for anon, good for you(in a non-sarcastic way) you were the "bigger men/women" in the situation by not taking the bait, because in the end, they would use it to grab more attention?
Besides, I read somewhere most the WBC church are member of the preacher guys family...... Boy would I hate to be in that family.

Yes, you did. Even if it's just a handful of Anon fans playing pretend, you did it. Even in the extremely unlikely event that WBC had the presence of mind to somehow stage this themselves, which I highly doubt judging by their history, you did it.

You created a mask that shields you from the accountability you try to enforce on others, and now some of those sort of people are adopting the mask and using it to dodge accountability in the same way. You use guerrilla tactics to "enforce" free speech, and yet you act surprised when people discover they can use those same tactics to enforce whatever limits they want to put on the speech of others.

You created the mask. You set the terms of engagement. You did this, and everything that comes after it. Welcome to the fundamental flaw of vigilantism.
