Rolling stop in Illinois. Or just if you're feeling especially verbose: "driving normally and not like a senior citizen."

When someone does not come to a complete and full stop we call it a "rolling stop" in PA. I currently live in Japan though and I'm pretty sure here they call it "I actually got my license so too freaking bad for anyone in my way."

Lived in Cali, moved to Oregon - I've always heard it called the California stop, but it's technical name is a rolling stop and I'm sure that's what most places would call it.

I've never heard the "and go" part, but the California stop is what i call it (even though I live in California.)

"Normal" here in the fetid armpit of the universe. If everyone actually stopped at stop signs, there'd be a 20-car pileup.

Rolling stop in... Arizona :p
Traitor! I will send my sock puppets after you! you are the first AZ Person I have asked who didn't say cali stop or something along those lines. Are you a native?

Edit: I hate it when I mess up my improper punctuation.
I'm from AZ and it's called a California stop because Californians have some of the worst traffic violation histories in the world.

(Although if you've driven through their rush hour, it's understandable)

California stop here in Washington state. Washingtonians aren't known for being fond of California though. I was actually under the impression that we made up the term here, although I'm not sure if that's really true.

I'm pretty sure it's officially just called "not stopping" though.

We just say "yep, that's a bad driver" here in Australia. Other Australians might have a term for it, but I've never heard of a specific word to reference that particular aspect of bad-driving.

Both of these.

However reading this thread I have come to another conclusion about drivers. Which I might make into a thread. If you can come to the same conclusion I shall give you a picture of a cookie.

Called a rolling stop here in TN........ really coming to a complete stop is pointless. Slowing to about 5mph and then just rolling through is the way to do it, and thats what most people do. Cops here in my city don't care, heck you can pass one doing 20mph over the speed limit and they won't pull you over.

I say get rid of 90% of stop signs and turn em into round abouts or whatever the heck you wanna call em.
