According to FFXI's Alchemist recipe ingredents I'd guess something like a broth or stew just made for the effect and not for flavor with ones like "Lizard Taill" "Malboro Vine" or "Hecteyes Eyes" and I don't even wanna mention the Ethers . Cheers!

Probably such a great conglomeration of tastes that our mouths couldn't comprehend the viscous fluid sliding down our esophagus. So it probably just tastes like nothing but a warm liquid entering your belly with the same sensation as alcohol.

Thank you. But I must disagree. Mana potions would probably taste either like blackberries or grape soda with a mild citrus-y aftertaste. Or maybe like Mountain Dew with honey in it.
