Wasn't it Crysis: Warhead? I know that ART is subjective, but graphics aren't. You can enjoy the art style of Little Big Planet or Team Fortress 2, and you can prefer them to other art styles, but in terms of graphic power nothing stands up to Warhead.

Crysis, without a doubt.
Although... GTA IV did take a bigger strain on my PC, don't know if that has anything to do with it...

Metal Gear Solid 4, technically wise, on a console. Crysis Warhead technical on PC. Gear of War 2 has some of my favorite visuals though, the two I liked the most were the Locust Palace at Nexus, and the ending area, where Jacinto is sinking and you're fighting down to the sinkhole's bottom. LBP had a cutesy style that looked just like they were cut out of cloth or paper, and Mirror's Edge had a beautifully clean style about it.

Yeah, and that's something I can pick up at Newegg? No? Hmm. Thought so :p
So I can pick up a PC that will run Crysis in EB within an afternoon? I thought not.

This is what I was talking about - if you let the PC exclusives in then you have to allow every crazy ass project someone undertakes to get the best picture they can.
Why would you even buy a PC from EB, but I'd say the best place to get a fully assembled PC would be [for NZ residents]:
Here [http://www.playtech.co.nz/], For $2,499 GST Incl, NZD, you can buy the Playtech Striker 840I, don't know which one it is)-CD Extreme Edition, which scored 138 in World Bench.
It's pre-assembled and comes relatively quickly... I think, lol. Sourcing this information from PC World, xD.

I wont say that it had the best graphics ever but the best looking game that I bought this year was COD:5 I was especially impressed by the fire and the sheer amount of stuff on screen at one time. I know that it probably isn't a contender for best ever but it's the best one I own at the moment

As in sheer power and such, it'd be Crysis: Warhead. easy.
But style wise i'd probably go with either LBP or Valkyria Chronicles

Sorry to break this Topic but Crysis warhead has the best graphics period.
If you dont agree then google image it and you will see.
Graphics card companies guage how good their card are by running Crysis and it is used as the benchmark.

But not everyone has the money to experience Warhead.

Money isn't the question though, this is about the *best* gfx.

That being the case Crysis:Warhead is probably top, but STALKER:Clear Sky is a very very strong contender. Clear Sky has the constantly changing skybox with the day/night cycle built into the open world environment, with the possibility of incredible looking deadly emissions from the centre of the zone. The sky at night looks amazing and experiencing a night-time thunderstorm in dx10 mode is approaching the sublime.

Since MGS4's gfx is mostly FMV rather than in-game, it can't win. By technical terms it is between Warhead and Clear Sky, since with dx10 pc graphics have leapfrogged the capabilities of the consoles.

MGS 4 has FMV? Aren't FMV cutscenes scenes with real actors?

Crysis warhead. I played it at the local computer place (Nerd center) and It was beautiful. Downloaded it at home...and it raped my computer.
