I've got to call out 'Ape Escape' for the Playstation. (As in, Playstation 1)

40 seconds loops of dull MIDI files and a serious case of the 'Beedly-Boodly-Beedly-Boodly' repeat.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2; The music it self is just fine, but before patches there would be ocational really LOUD music clips run just when some of the characters were talking, making it impossible to hear what they are saying. That bugged me... Got better on the second go i had at it, fully patched.

the soundtrack of Settlers 2 was an extremly short loop. And pretty tedious once you "noticed" it.

Tecmo's 'Secret of the Stars' on SNES.

One loud track being played all the time except during battles...

Just Cause 2's music was really underwhelming, especially considering the awesomeness of the first Just Cause's music.
I mean seriously; they took away that brilliant free fall music!

The majority of the Lego games.
I think they all have that same loop of music from Lego Star Wars. [srsly sure I heard it on Lego Indy last night]

Edit: To agree with the above poster, GTA4 had the worst soundtrack of the series.

For me it would be Fallout 3. Except for the main menu music at about 30 seconds in. Of course, the start of that is rather annoying. But the idle, "wandering" music is just so damn annoying.
i agree with you on Fallout 3, not because of the empty wasteland "music", but because of the old songs that play on the radio, damn, i hate that music :p

I for one, however, hate the music in Sonic, especially the 3D games. Especially the ones where Sonic sings.
Wait they have Sonic sing? Oh god I'm glad I have never heard that.

I'm going to have to say Half-Life 2 or Cruis'n USA, ah hell most racing games have horrible songs in them.
I'm going to have to call BS on this. The Sonic character or any of his voice actors have never sung any of the themes ever! Plus there is no such thing as a bad Sonic song..(unless it's Tails), unless you have a certain distaste for 80's rock, but that's just plain silly.

Another game with bad music is Half-Life 2. It randomly starts at a few selected battles and doesn't fit at all.
Really, I mean... REALLY?!
Do i have to say more than song 23 as my counterstatement?

a game with terrible music is Mw2, every single Us marines/Rangers mission has this damn
feel-bad-for-the-douchebags-because-someone-fought-back music playing on a loop in the background.

That's a perfect example of crappy game music, in my opinion.
