The whole Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Sonic just isn't what he used to be anymore. Seeing him in games like the "Winter Olympics" just makes me wanna cry.
This one. Please this one.

"The game"

You know which one.

OT: Video gamewise? Um, I would say the Sims. Such a waste of time and kind of boring.

Yes, I've played it.

May I?

*ahem*

All old franchises should go away and die. We need more original games and stories. Not another Final Fantasy or Megaman or Mario game.

And this is a Megaman and Final Fantasy fanboy speaking. Writing. Whatever.

I was gonna make a joke and say "Half-Life," but that would take too much effort.

No game franchise needs to die. Get over yourself.

Hmm, I have to go with GTA, Halo, the sierra/activision versions of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, Guitar Hero and the other "Hero" games too (Those guys try WAY too hard.), Fable, Sonic The Hedgehog, Final Fantasy, and Tomb Raider.

But honestly, they'll only die if people quit buying them...

They're coming out with a green day addition of guitar hero now....

THAT'S A HUGE SIGN THAT YOUR FRANCHISE HAVE TO STOP!

Also Half Life 2 Ep 3 should be the last.

Mario, Zelda, Metroid, CoD, Halo, any JRPG (exept a couple, namely Earthbound), GTA, Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and the Sims. I was a Pokemon Fan. Kanto, Cool. Johto, Better. Hoen(I dont know how it's spelled), iffy. Then a couple of remakes and than Sinnoh. Rubbish. The Sims has my sisters entire life chained to the computor, and Call of Duty has my only friend who actually likes going down in the swamps and sloughs fishing, catching snakes, frogs, turtles, and other small animals for entertaiment is now cooped up in his condo playing World at War claiming "I am almost level 50" or I'm at stage 10 nazi zombies. Nazi zombies was complete crap to me but Jesus to him.

Also sadly sonic.

Actually that's Rock Band, not that it matters though.

And I'm sure this has already been said by someone else, but Fable franchise should never have existed. It's garbage, and for the life of me I do not understand why it is so popular.

None of them.

I'm more hostile to people who think any franchise needs to die in a fire than to the franchises.

I dislike about 98% of video games that are made, but that doesn't stop me from recognizing that there are tons of people that still like them.

I choose to do the smarter thing and just not buy shitty games. Saves me money, saves me the time and energy I would have spent ranting about them, and it makes me feel better when a friend says "Oh god dude...Why did I preorder that new *Insert Bland but Pretty FPS* game...I'm retarded."
This. Although I sometimes wish that some of the good ol' games characters like Sonic, Crash and Spyro would just disappear, for the sake of the good times long past...

this is simple which franchise do you think needs to be put to bed. I think they need to stop making grand theft auto, i feel the need for its demise mainly because its the same thing over and over again just with new characters, and before anyone feels the need to point it out i know that someone probably did this already im just curious no need to be rude about it
I'll give you a original answers. Your mom! Yeah, that game that trolls play when you ask a question like that. That should die or be a dead sentence to any that does it. Since it's mostly a game played on gaming forum, i think it can count.

If not, anything can be good if you put the hard work... I'm looking at you Duke Nukem Forever! SHAME ON YOU!

First off, I'm a single player gamer. I play games for their offline aspect. That's what I will be judging the following on. Don't get angry or irritated at my choices if I pick one you enjoy playing onlone with your friends, because I'm not picking it for that.

Halo - The single player campaigns for all of them were hopeless. The first game literally had copy-pasted corridors that took me hours to get through, and the sequels did nothing to improve the gameplay - if anything, they worsened it by combining the health and shield bars into one, placing you in uninspired and repetitive levels and having a plot that made little to no sense.

Final Fantasy - I wouldn't mind this if they just focused on the core games. But no. They have to make sequels, and prequels, and utterly unrelated spin-offs (Tactics and Crystal Chronicles, I'm looking at you). The stories are pretty much based on the same ideas with new spins, the battle systems have just gotten worse with each one and the latest is just an embarrassment. I do not want to spend 20 hours learning how to play a game. Which leads me neatly on to...

Grand Theft Auto - And by this, I mean the more recent, 'realistic' ones. There's a reason most people prefer Vice City to GTA4 - it's just plain more entertaining. The recent games have been far too gritty and realistic to be much fun at all. The Ballad of Gay Tony was a good step in the right direction, but it's not enough to save the series. Either give us back the zany, over-the-top cartoonish GTAs, or stop making the damn things.

Splinter Cell - This one's bound to be a bit controversial, but hear me out. I thought the first four games were great fun. Sneaking along, performing stealth kills, moving the bodies out of sight... Tense, but extremely rewarding. The new game is nothing like that. While I'd expect a few changes, that's not what Conviction gives us. It's an almost completely different game to the ones that came before it. And that's why this series need to 'die and go away' - because it's not Splinter Cell any more.

Worms - Remember this? Way back in 1995, a few guys made a great turn-based combat 'simulator'. Team17 then spent the next 15 years remaking the same damn game over and over again. 15 years. I'm sick to death of the damn series, I'm sick to death of the cheating AI which always, without fail, uses grenades. I'm sick of all the cute voices which grate after around 30 seconds. And most of all, I'm sick of finding exactly the same game on every single console under the sun.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Do I really need to explain this? Yes? Oh. Well. Ever since Sonic went into 3D, he's pretty much split the fans. I'm with the camp that thinks everything since Sonic Adventure was rubbish. The character could work in a 3D world, but the only game that's really come close to showing that is Unleashed, and you spent half the time in that in 2D-style sections, so it's hardly the best example. There's been a change lately though - Sonic 4 looks like it could be good and Sonic Colo(u)rs might be interesting. But I have little faith for either of these, and if they aren't any good, then this franchise definitely needs to have both barrels. (Yes, I watch ZP. Who doesn't.)

Assassin's Creed - Heh. Kidding.

The Probably best Hero game ever made out of complete lack of ideas Would be Cowbell Hero. You could play stuff Like "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster cult and Mississipi Queen by Mountain.

I'm gonna echo the thought that Valve should have their games making toys taken away until they can stop being twats (or their fans can stop being morons). They spend more time teasing stuff that will never come out and making "Alternate Reality Games" than making games themselves which, combined with the fact that the average Valve fan is like an adorable puppy that takes the kick to the face by licking it's owner's face and begging for more, is eventually going to tell other developers it's OK to do the same.

This isn't trolling, this is a fact - Gabe Newell and all his little troll minions need to leave games making for a while.

Any game that tries to piggy-ride WoW. WoW is fine by itself and should stay so, but games miming it still are being made, especially in the F2 market with vexing amount of grind.

Wish people would try more new things, like Vindictus.

You don't have to play it if you don't like it. It's called an opinion. Everyone has them. Just because you don't like a game doesn't mean it has to d-HAHA just kidding!

Some-Kind-Of-Shock-game would be awesome, but Bioshock is beyond done. No more, please.

Halo can fuck off. Not that I don't like the early installments, because I do, but the franchise has been milked beyond its worth, unless you're gonna start integrating your super awesome story in the games and stop pointing me to the goddamn novels. I read real books, thank you very much!

I heard someone mention the Too Human sequel. Actually, I've been enjoying the first game for the past couple of days days now. It's got some severe issues, that much is true, but buried beneath those is a pretty awesome game, if you've got the patience for it. I really can't fathom why this keeps popping up in worst-game-ever-threads. No wait I can. Yahtzee.
And I was shocked at the valkyrie animation. I expected it to be infuriatingly long, and instead it takes a whopping two seconds! What the hell is everyone bitching about? Anyway, if they can iron out the wrinkles, a sequel might be cool.
