My parents were working, no one remembered it was my birthday, I was too shy to tell anyone, didn't get any presents, and I spent it alone.

I was 11.

Worst birthday? I don't think it was the worst, but I guess it's close enough to count.

It was just last March when I (didn't quite) "celebrate" my 21st birthday. It was a Sunday when it happened. Our school had us come in to "practice" our graduation, which was in 2 days. I completely forgot it was my birthday, & neither my family nor my friends remembered either. Everyone was so busy with something I guess it slipped all our minds. I only remembered when my classmate, who coincidentally I actually share birthdays with, greeted me (and greeting her back was just as awkward as forgetting my birthday).

What's ironic was I actually set my phone to remind me.

Thanks to my mother telling a psychiatrist I'd made death threats against her (false), I spent my 18th birthday in a mental institution. Mom and I aren't on speaking terms anymore.

Kinda like mine but reverse. My mom had a nearvous breakdown on birthday #14. Thought my cake was poisened and wouldn't let me eat it. She's ok now :)

For one birthday, I was really sick, and still had to pretend to be a patient and grateful person. I was 8, I think. 8 year olds are not grateful or patient for anything when they're sick. And on my 13th birthday, I spent the entire evening in a stuffy school hall, on a sweltering hot November night, listening to the principal talk about how wonderful the school I'd be attending the following year was.

I haven't had a bad birthday, but once on my dads birthday, we went out to a resturant and when we got back, one of our cats was dead.

I spent my "sweet 16" doing homework in my room. No cake, no presents, just chores, geometry and an essay.

my birthday is a week before christmas. when i was a kid my family was really poor, so we never really ever celebrated my birthday, christmas would roll around and everybody would make sure to remind me that my christmas presents (all 4 of them, one from each relative) counted as both my birthday and christmas gifts.

i cant honestly say i've had a bad birthday because to me its always been just another day of the year.

On my fourteenth birthday, my Grandma (who I hadn't seen for a good few years, and was really looking forward to spending time with) came up from Florida to celebrate.

My parents and her spent the entire week fighting with each other.

Barely said a word the whole damn time, except for when I asked if any of them would actually play a ridiculously expensive board game I was looking at with me. They said yes, I bought it with my own money, and two years later it hasn't been touched once.

Not the worst birthday ever, but still rather frustrating.

That's awful =/ you'd think your parents would remember a thing like that.
Mine aren't usually cracking. Last birthday was my 18th, I invited about 25/30 friends to come out and only three turned up. At least it made me realise I don't need those people in my life any more.
Most other birthdays are spent alone, but at least people remember and buy me presents, so it's not that bad.

On my 6th birthday my father went to jail for nearly beating a man to death because he abused my mother while she was out exercising.
I love that my dad is protective...but c'mon.

To my recollection, my 16th, precisely two of my friends turned up, Mum was at work and Dad was away somewhere for work, they gave me a fiver between them since they're either really skint or really cheap, and they were both boring. Not a 'bad' birthday per-say but the most boring one in memory.

It was for my 18th, I sat in an empty house with a table full of drinks and nobody to drink them with.

They forgot when the party was.

Perhaps a little too morbid for this topic but I'll tell you none the less.
It was my 17th, 5 years ago. I was heavily pregnant and I was raped by my ex boyfriend.

I hate my birthday now.

Spent my 14th birthday practically alone in my room.

Didn't get gifts from anyone either, the only person who cared about me out of town on business.

290 push-ups in a metal-roof pavilion with shredded tire-rubber for a floor in bootcamp, all because someone had to open their big mouth and say happy birthday to me in earshot of the Drill Sergeant. And thats on top of all the other times we were caped that day.
2nd worst was painting/reflooring a trailer in 110 degree heat with no A/C and getting high/sick from the paint fumes (not intentionally) and hallucinating from the heat exhaustion/paint fumes.

Well I currently can't remember my worst one (it must've been bad lol) but my birthday is on tax day so when the all the taxes are paid means no money left to get me any gifts other than maybe a garment of clothing or two, most of the time not even a whole outfit. Never really got much gifts on my birthday and never had a real party (except when I was really little) although it's prabably because I don't give a damn about parties.

On November 30th of 2009 my Boyfriend dumped me and kicked me out of our appartment while my mother was visiting us after he'd gone missing for 24hrs. I had to spend the day in an airport with a broken heart, a 13 hour lay over, and my mom complaining about her ruined vacation. A week later my cat died.♥
That is pretty fucked, I hope he had some horrible karma induced accident sometime afterward.

This year's birthday. I walked downstairs into my living room to find my ex-girlfriend sat there with my housemate who'd decided to invite her over without letting me know. No better feeling in the world than walking into an ambush. And then she decided to explain in intricate detail why we split up and just exactly why everything was my fault. Didn't even bring me a card. -_-
